Hotel Fort Canning

my AD will be next year.. my hubby love the ballroom, thus he keep saying abt Legends. It will on our top list.

we don't want the outdoor, as we scared it will be too hot...

have visted FC today.. there was a wedding gg on.. considering FC however, i was unable to meet min table requirement..

only hav approx 18- 20 tables.. so muz "top" up $..

can anyone advise on wedding during mar tis yr? worried tat it might b hot or rain and spoil e mood...

it looks really romantic at night.. however, the projector screen is a little small.. (cant really see from 35th table) but sound system was loud.. could hear fr reception area.. not sure if the music will deafen those at e VIP tables..

1 thing thou.. saw a cat running into e tent prior to e wedding.. hmmm...

I have not personally try it.. But i heard feedbacks that the ballroom is quite nice and is quite spacious.. The food is nice... Maybe u can go down and take a look at the ballroom itself and speak to any sales person.
 
I've went to food tasting early this week for my sis's wedding next month holding at the ballroom of The Legends.

Eunice, Sophia Beh is my sis's coordinator. She's still there.
Saw her during the food tasting session.
Food not bad except for the fish dish.
 
We have originally booked a wedding banquet at Legends, Fort Canning (indoor/outdoor to be cfm). Unfortunately, due to a change of plans, we have to let the well negotiated package go.

I went for the food tasting last week.
Agreed with xinglin that the fish is no good.
It was quite stiff and the cook explained that it was due to the nature of rearing the fish, etc...
 
Ya, the chef explained the same to us too.
So what do you request to do?
Changing to another fish?

My sis requested for 2 smaller fish (the same type) which they claimed the meat will not be that stiff.

The cook also told us to consider 2 smaller Garoupa but we thot it would be odd to have 2 fishes. I'm changing to promfet which my parents preferred. But we are not sure abt the taste and size. Anyone has tried Legends' promfet before?
 
hi all

am considering holding wedding dinner at the Legends outdoor marquee. However am quite concerned about the rain, as the path from the marquee to the lift (to the bridal suite) is not sheltered.

also, would be very inconvenient for the guests during a rainy day right?

anyone has tips or experience to share regarding the marquee?

Yesterday was my sis's wedding at The Legends.
Ya, the power point is right below the LCD tv at the reception area.
Had also asked the helpers to get me the extension plug as well. They are very helpful!
 
Thats's great! I was at the Ballroom too on Sunday, to test play my montage and songs.
How's the dinner? Is everything alright?

You are using which ballroom?

Dinner is ok but some unavoidable hipcups on last min guests attendance.

But somehow the food served quick fast and my sis's preparation so long..thus ended up flow of food served very odd and last few dishes turned cold when they were served.
 
My AD is on this Sat and I'm using Legends Ballroom.
I also worried about guest attendance esp. relatives... can only depends on my recept to react accordingly.
 
ya lor...during my sis's wedding, i'm also the receptionist. Really very headache when some people come, some people dun come, some come with extras... very headache.

Don't worry. BTW, are you the groom or bride? keke...sorry ya if i sounded rude.

My guests' comments for the food was quite good.
And personally, would like to commend Legends' Sales and Banquet Operation teams who made my event a success. The op mgr was very helpful and assuring. We really appreciate their efforts to meet our late requests.

Ya my relative also commented the food is not bad too.

I agreed the Banquet Operation is really good! Esp Feroz! He's the banquet operation executive on my sis's wedding night. I would said his service is thumbs up!

As for myself, keke...I've ROM last year and my AD is next year Dec

My sis has her wedding at The Legends, my fren has his ROM there and maybe his AD might be there as well. I had also attended my company D&D there as well. In my own view, i felt the place is not bad and of cos not the best. But the deco is nice. Reception is very nice (The Legends ballroom at level 1, down the stairs from lobby wor).

Did not liase with the coordinators there so can't comment too much but the banquet operation, my sis's coordinator (Sophia) are all very helpful.

As for food, food taste better during food tasting than actual dinner wor.
But my relatives all said the food is nice wor.

But most importantly, you have to see what's your priority like looking for the venue.

Hi, I had my wedding there at the legends last dec....most of my guest commented that the food is nice.

I am very happy with the service there too especially the Banquet Operation,Feroz!!
No regrets choosing THe Legends.

Piggy, the place not that ulu, as is a walking distance from the mrt, you got to go to Park Mall to take the lift up to the carpark level and walk across only...my guests got no problem finding the place.. =)

Cos mine is at the outdoor and i afraid that it will not be windy enough and my guests will complain abt it. But i love the outdoor so much, it so unusual and romantic!
 
can i check if there are any bridal suites in legends? or is that why they give you a room in conrad or other 5star hotels instead?

I have just recky the place yesterday with my bf. There are no bridal suite there but they are planning to build their own in-house range of suite.

So tentatively, they will give you a free nite stay at Conrad. Apparently, you can't choose other hotels.

But they've got a day room for the bride to use..was rather small but I must say that the mirror was huge! And the lighting was good as well, unlike some hotels they only have those yellow and dim lights. Has a safe there for you to put ang paos and also a washroom.

Overall impression of the place was quite good..just don't really like the shape of the ballroom which was too long in my opinion.

They have 2 lay-outs for the ballroom. The first one you can choose to position your stage at the far end (but long aisle then) and you will have 3 screens along the ballroom. The other one you can choose to position your stage at the centre (shorter aisle) and have 2 screens to each side of the ballroom.
 
A point to note - Let the Coordinator know whether you will be taking the room at Conrad on the actual day of your wedding way in advance. My wedding is in March, I told my coordinator in Jan I'm taking the room on the Actual day. But too late cos its fully booked on my wedding day. So I have to change the date and go back to the hotel for a stay in May. Me and Hubby overlooked. So juz note. =)

Me interested to hold an outdoor wedding but buffet style at the Legends. Anyone done that? Convenient to reveal price per table if it's a sit down dinner? A range like 800+ to 900+ or less? Thanks! =)

Hi,

I'll b having my dinner at legends fort canning outdoor marquee this sept. Does anyone have any photos of the marquee lighted up, with the flowers, deco etc? and also photos of the cocktail recept? Would appreciate if you could share w me the photos as I've yet to go down look at the actual set ups.
