Hi, i like to ask if anybody had held or attended wedding banquet at The legends before?

How is the ambience & food like?
I'm eyeing there. But dunno to take their ballroom or outdoor marcquee. Cos both are equally nice.

i had my rom hi tea there... nice atmosphere... the photos turn out very nice... i would prefer the ballroom... cos if marqueee will be very very hot and stuffy considering the people and compactness... but if you can arrange for those standalone air con ventilators throughout the diunner at the marquee... it will be fantastic cos the night view is so romantic... and special.. i worked at fort canning few years back so did a lot of functions like that.. i still love the place till now... and had imagined my wedding to be there... but too bad tung lok no longer caters the chinese food there...

ohhh.....i planning dinner. So, will the Marquee be very hot & stuffy?
I tot at night be quite cooling.
I am very excited with your description of the night view. I'm tired of ballroom sort of dinner. So really interested in the Marquee.
But I'm concern over the stuffiness. Is it really necessary to arrange for aircon? I afraid it be very expensive.
Also, location wise, I;m afraid it be very inconvenient for those who are not driving.

at night not very hot and stuffy.. but imagine few hundred people sitting so close... so at the end you will be sticky all over, especially the people who has to run around a lot, like you and your hb... i'm not sure whether they provide FOC but i guess not.. may have to source for those company that loan ventilators on your own...

the location is quite ok... its in town anyway... and people can take MRT and cut through park mall to go up.. less than 10 mins walk from dhoby ghaut...

If its 10 mins walk, then not soo bad..

I tot it be a long walk...was still thinking of getting private bus to fetch my guests to/fro from the train station b4 & afetr the dinner.
IF its only 10 mins, i tink i can save on this shuttle bus service.

provided they are given instructions on how to walk up

got to walk to Park mall from the mrt station. take the lift to 4th floor... exit the car park entrance behind park mall and walk up to the club crossing the road...

It is better to have shuttle service. I am holding my wedding in FCP itself. Tried walking from Park Mall, tough to find and quite far.

For the comfort of your guests, it's best to get a shuttle bus. Plus it's not very exp. I've enquired and got quotations for S$30/hour for bus (24 seater, anything bigger will have problems going up to FCP) that will do round trips, non-stop. So you will need the bus for ard 3-4 hours only. :D

Where is your pick up point?
Are you providing shuttle bus at the end of the dinner too?
Also, are you holding your wedding indoor or outdoor?

I have placed a deposit with them but have not signed the contract. HAve you met up with them?
Seems like not many people holding their wedding there since not much of info here. If you have met and discuss the perks with them, can you share with me the information. Thanks.

I had my post wedding celebration at the Legends (ballroom) last december. Got married in the uk. I think they were fantastic, very nice food too. Got no complains. My parents did the negotiation with them as I was not in S'pore.

Hi brink

We had the used of a dressing room (quite a nice one) and a one night stay in Le Meridien. Guests also get complimentary parking. And I think projector and all that was included in the package. Just PM me for the pictures.

Hi Brink, sorry i forgot to check this thread. Anyhow, just met with Jenny yesterday. Seems quite open and flexible. Is she the person you were speaking to?

I've not really negotiated for any perks yet because:
1) I havent finalised my dates
2) With my requirement for 20 tables, i can only do it on a weekday, which my parents are not to keen on.

Is there anything in particular you looking to negotiate for?

My coordinator is Selestina. Not very successful with much additional perks. Same as Mrs N. I have a room stay at conrad. The others are quite standard. Can you share with me what you have discuss for your perks when you have finalised your contract with them. Thanks. My email as per above.

my wedding just over on 7 Oct and my coordinator is Jenny...she is professional, approachable and helpful... help us a lot throughout...

my experience with them is excellant, whether its the service or the setup, the food (didnt get to eat much that nite but got comments from my guest whom just attended Pan Pac. wedding not long ago that legend food is better).

I even send them a thank you card after the wedding which I think they really deserve it.

my advise to u, if the legend garden u mention is open air... do think twice and consider the month which u choose for next year if it will hit the haze...

Cos on my wedding day, there is other wedding which is held in the open air. And the haze that day is quite bad... dont really know if it affected the no. of guest attending.

This is another recommendation, you may consider if you have not engage AD photograher... he is Derrick Ong... excellant...a very nice guy...of course takes nice photos too... receive lots of compliment for my outdoor photoshoots photos...

Hi Brink,

There is nothing much to take note on... as the coordinator will take care of most things... however if u have anything in mind... can always tell them... got to say that my coordinator is quite accommodating...afterall wedding is once a life time event...they will understand...

One minor thing to remember is to bring along home slipper and homewear when you arrive at the legends on the AD after the tea ceremony as the bridal room do not provide those. As its a few hrs from the evening events hence it will be nice to put on relaxing cloth. (after showering i actually waited for my MUA in my teadress

Not to worry... as I decided to give them feedback on this... so hopefully by then they will improve on this...(providing bath ropes and slipper will be nice ;)

i like the bridal room too...very nice... make up artist also comments that its like those backstage make up room...its with full mirrors and sofa...

i saw the bridal room today too. nice and big. wun have to squeeze. plenty of room for everyone =P
