True to its name, ‘宴, Yan honours the significance of love and togetherness.
When two hearts become one, begetting love, joy and happiness, a blissful union calls for a convivial feast with families and friends. True to its name, ‘宴’, Yan honours the significance of love and togetherness with wedding packages for a truly memorable celebration of a lifetime.
Perched on the fifth floor of the City Hall rooftop within iconic National Gallery Singapore, Yan seeks to bring people together through food, where the dining experience is reminiscent of convivial gatherings and intimate Chinese dining.
Hinging on the symbolism of symmetry in Chinese customs, the interior décors at Yan are deftly designed. The booth seats in the main dining hall are placed in pairs to bring about happiness and luck. Admire hints of modern art in the restaurant, such as the art installations of a flight of swallows in the private room, emulating its Mandarin homonym – swallows (yàn zi or 燕子) as a representation of grace and beauty.
With a space of 2,700 square feet, including 3 private rooms, Yan caters to small unions of 10 people and intimate wedding banquets that can accommodate up to 154 people. Every spatial arrangement is done with romance, intimacy and togetherness in mind.
Yan’s tailored wedding menu features eight signature courses. The sumptuous 8-course menu, which ranges from $118.80++ to $168.80++ per person, features dishes catered to auspicious blessings. Held our wedding at Yan Restaurant on 15 December 18. Excellent service and foods. Best cantonese foods in town. Big thanks to CK Shek and Wendy who gave their best advice on foods and support us by all means. The ambience is cosy. Definitely will be our top choice for future celebrations. Thanks for the team make our wedding so memorable.
Just held our wedding dinner at YÀN and we didnt regret our decision. The venue has met our expectations of a casual and intimate settings, whereby guests has given good comments on the food and the cozy ambience. A big thanks to Wendy and team for making sure the event was smooth and the service was impeccable. Kudos for the good job!
I held my wedding dinner here in early July, and it turned out to be an absolutely amazing decision. Food was the most important consideration for our celebration, and Yàn was able to deliver a consistently amazing meal for a large crowd. While not quite a ballroom, the existing decor is still lovely, and the nature of the seating meant that we were able to have the intimate feel that we wanted.
The team led by Mr Shek, Henry, and Wendy were an absolute joy to work with - totally professional, very flexible, and always happy to help. Even though we incorporated less traditional things into our celebrations (Like pre-dinner canapés, a piñata, a coffee cart, and live calligraphy), they were able to make all these things possible, while also ensuring that the quality of the food and service was top notch for over 120 people.
The head chef at Yàn was open to tweaking the wedding set menu for us to include the dishes that we love, like their pumpkin and crab meat soup with Chinese wine, and their mango sago ice cream dessert served in a fresh coconut shell, so we were able to have dishes a little out of the ordinary. All of our guests were so impressed with the food, but everyone's favourite course at the end of the evening was definitely the live lobster with handmade noodles: each person was able to enjoy half a very fresh lobster each, which was incredibly succulent and juicy. Kudos to the kitchen team for working so hard!
We chose Yàn because we'd had many delicious meals there as a family, and now we definitely know it's also a great place for bigger gatherings
