Hi all! im also attracted to CC due to the nice food and ambience related to me by my friends.

Just to check, if my banquet is in 2010, they will quote me the price on the website now as seen os there will be a different price list for 2010?

Yixin: Just a note. I had made a tentative booking with CC for a date on the 18 Oct 2009 initially. Following which, in the 2 weeks timeframe, the terms and conditions changed e.g. from waiver of $15++ to corkage charge of $15 nett (wine corkage). When my SO called to check, he was told to call back 7 days later if we still want to hold our AD at CC, there were no replies pertaining to our "terms and conditions" questions.

We decided to patronise another hotel there and then. Their pricelist is subjected to changes.

Yixin,

It work like this, You pick a date then place a tentative booking with Club Chinos. No payment required and no contract is signed.

This date would be yours till the day other people chanllenged for it, then you would have to decide whether or not you want to sign up or give up to the chanllenger.

The price of the table is finalized on the contract which means the price of the table is subjectable to changes.

Chloe,

Perhaps sometimes we need to be more 'aggressive' in our followups/planning if it's the venue/package that we want. likewise, there are always better offers out there.

Cheerios,

Anntonii

Hi Anntonii, what do you mean by

"The price of the table is finalized on the contract which means the price of the table is subjectable to changes"?

I thought once we signed the contract, the price will be fix already? can someone let me know?

New Member
Princess,

You are right, once contract is signed the price is fixed.

what i meant earlier is that the price of the table might change if you are still on 'tentative booking'

Anntonii: Hmmm, actually its more about the way he replied put us off. Because he said if no one challenges us, we can place the deposit one week before the wedding show because I want the waiver of $15++. When I found out that even on the wedding show, there will not be any waiver and instead a $15nett applies, SO called and checked. Because if really no waiver, then I dun mind signing up then as it made not much difference. However, no explainations were given and instead, he called us to call back 7 days later in not-very-nice-tone (SO asked politely). And all the talk about placing the deposit one week before the wedding show was suddenly retracted. The wine waiver thing is a small matter, I was more concerned if we really placed the deposit and the terms and conditions were changed, then how?

Hey Chloe,
So far my experience with CC has been good. From my experience so far with them... everything is finalised once you pay. They won't change the price and all the other things. They will write all the perks down on the contract. Such as waiver of cockage charges..... So be sure about what you want... get them to write and include it in the contract as you negotiate with them then.
As to paying earlier of wait for the show.... It's about securing the dates you want.

Chloe,

If you are not particular about your AD date, then perhaps u can hold on further till you decide.

With the current economic situation going down trend, it's not surprise Hotel F&B's going to be hit hard in the coming months...

Maybe there will be a price drop...

Hi All,

I just email eric on the package and he was very responsive =)
The price per table online applies to until March 2010.

Anntonii> i was also wondering whether there will be a price drop, but all along they have been increasing...Carlton on the other hand i tink has change their price to a lower price per table, however, the menu of coz is not the same as the much expensive price.
So i guess, if they decrease the price, the menu will be changed also to complement the price.
Thats what i tink

hi Renne> thanks so much ... intend to book the banquet on wedding show that day on 9 Nov 08. My AD will be on 28 Dec 09

Heys Ferlis,

The deposit required is $4000 + GST. However, there are two payment options.

1. Pay $4000 + GST upfront

2. Pay $2000 + GST upfront and pay the other $2k + GST 6 months before your AD.

Hope this helps.

Heys Bling, i will be having my food tasting next month but from what i know, after the food tasting, you could call up ur coordinator and let him know if there are any changes on the menu or what you prefer them to improve on.

Heys C Bear,

I tink the freebies offered are pretty standard, so far had not heard of any BTBs getting anniversary stay. There are some pics of the bridal suite in posts earlier this year.

I suppose those freebies you could get is free flow beer, wine corkage waiver and complimentary parking.

Heys all,

Just had my food tasting with them yesterday (Thursday). Overall the food was good and portion was huge.. At the 3rd last dish onwards, all of us were full by then (with 8 adults and 1 child). Thumbs up to Club Chinois!

Hi Mawie,
I just had my food tasting too!
Yeah.. I am quite satisfied with the food overall though there are some minor improvements required.. I just hope they maintain this standard for the AD banquet..

Hi all,

I am selling my banquet in Antica ballroom as we have miscalculated the number of tables and need 35 to 40 tables now which they are unable to accommodate. I am willing to sell at a loss and price is negotiable as long as the loss is not too much.

The ballroom is cozy and beautiful as they had renovated a year plus ago. Food is great as it is served by Tung Lok. Moreover, it is located in a hotel in Orchard Rd (within walking distance from Orchard MRT) with reasonable pricing served with great food. Probably, my FH and I are not in the luck to hold my wedding banquet there due to more tables required.

For more details, pls click on the link below. Thanks.

Heard that Cornelius is easier to talk to than Eric, anyone can confirm? As in the number of perks we can negotiate. Thanks

Hello, any reviews on the views of the restaurant at Club Chinois? Is it pillarless? Emailed Eric and from the floor plans, seems that some tables would be in private rooms???

Hi Anntonii, congrats to u too.
Hahaha. Mine is 1 day before yours (13Jun09).
Did u find out from the person as in how the reception area will be like?
Cos there will be another wedding to be held at the ballroom, so a bit worried.

Congrats everyone..

previously Cornelius had provided me with some of the pictures of both CC and the ballroom, let me dig them out and post it up (if you are in a hurry, i had posted it before can look at the earlier posts).

Some differences between the two:
1. CC has limited unblocked view seating capacity (for my wedding, will be having 22 tables, housing my helpers in the rooms with partial view)
2. CC has a unique Oriental chic taste (personal take), with leather seats instead of the fitted cushion ones and it has toilets within the restaurant, making it more convenient for the guests
3. The ballroom's ceiling is pretty low but the white theme makes it cosy and sweet. Advisable to stick to 30 tables and below.

P.S. my wedding is a month away on 14 Feb 09, if you guys dun mind the wait, will post up the bridal suite pics and CC's pics as well

Hi Mawie, congrats.

Can u email me the pics which he provided u previously? Thanks, my email is [email protected]. :)

Yea, I am kind of having a headache of putting which guests in the rooms with partial view.
However, I agree with u about the layout...it is really unique n different from the standard arrangement which u see in a dinner.
Did u happen to enquire from Cornelius about where your reception table will be placed at?

I would love to see pics of your wedding n definitely dun mind the wait. :)
Lots of congrats gal.

Danlee, sorry no idea about Shin Yeh.

Just to share a little more on the little excuses I used to sit ppl in the private area, putting my helpers in them as they would need more space i.e. red wine and other barang barang.

Had requested for red roses only for that night and asked guests to come dressed in black, hoping to strike an opulent effect since its V day

Jac, the reception table will be placed on the left side of the restaurant entrance (corridor area).

On a side note, haf some pics to share with u all. my bridal shoot pics (only the edited ones) if keen to view the unedited ones, can let me know, will share them with you
