Hi Katherine, CC was my 1st choice for AD Venue but in the end i chosen Intercontinental Singapore. Of cos the difference is the pricing but overall hubby and me prefer the ambience as Intercontinental's ballroom is more grand.
I shld say the ballroom set up @ CC is quite ok but low ceilings & got 4 pillars..plus can only have short L-Shaped March in.

Hi Bubble, you can get the pricings from ERIC or from tung lok website...they got 3 different pricings. The price is valid till next yr.

Hello Gintonic
Intercontinental was my 1st choice but because my AD falls on the same day when they're having the wedding show, therefore we ended with CC.

Hope the food is as good as intercontinental.

Hello impulse41
You can also get the menu and pricing from Tung lok website.

Hello Mag,
Heard that the food by tung lok is good. The setting in the hotel ballroom is also not bad. I went down to see for myself the other day....

Although this thread is not moving as fast as the others but booking with CC is quite popular.
I happened to see their banquet schedule quite, packed leh..

hello again

Heard that they had upgraded their sound system and also the stage decoration. The stage picture (with curtains) in the previous posting is no longer in use. I find the new stage arrangement better.

For those interested, is good to call them and check when is their next banquet cos' it's better to see it yourself.

hi mag
I had my food tasting there already. The food is fantastic! It does have a lil different twist to the typical wedding dinner food, in terms of taste and presentation, which is quite refreshing.
I'm not sure about actual day, (my banquet is on Nov) ppl say usually the standard of the food on actual day is not as fantastic coz they have to prepare a lot, but all places also like that anyway.

Hi Skye Skye
Which menu are you taking and how many tables?
I took the Regal menu and holding at the hotel ballroom.

By the way, is there any dish that you want to highly recommend to us?

I will keep you guys update on my food tasting in September too.

wow.. great to see so many responses! so if I am interested to take a look, do I have to call up first and arrange an appointment or sthg? Cos though I have been looking out for hotels, I have not called any to ask for quotes or whatsoever. How does the procedure usually go? can anyone advise...?

hi 1nternet,
I took the Taipan menu and holding at the hotel ballroom too.

the "Sauteed Prawns, Greens with Cashew Nuts serve in a Yam Ring" is great too (i hate peeling prawn shells so messy & this one doesn't), the & the "Crisp Skin Fried Chicken Served with Mango Compote" was really quite a twist, loved the sauce...lastly my fav was "Hot Almond Cream with Sesame Glutinous Dumpling".

yr set will be different but believe u'll find your fav too

hi mag,
juz give them a call and arrange an appointment with the restaurant so at least the banquet manager will be around to explain in further detail about what's in the package, and to show you the place (ie, elaborate on the food, what will the wedding suite be like, things to bargain in the package, take a look at the ballroom...better if someone is holding a wedding there on that day so that you can see the actual set up)

i checked out about 4-5 places before eventually deciding on Club Chinois, learnt what to look out for along the way also.

Hi Skye Skye
Thanks for your advise. By the way, do you have a montage to show on your AD? Understand from Eric that they do not have, therefore need to bring ours.

I'm looking for someone to do the montage? Any recommendation?

hi 1nternet,
i think i'll be having a montage to show the previous day's events before the dinner starts (have a church wedding the day before).
yeah, they don't have projector etc, would be good if they do. i also haven't checked out in detail abt the set up if we want to have one though.

hmm...recommendations to do montage, i'm not sure, coz mine is done by my friends so i didn't really do much research.

Can you give the link to your wedding at CC also?

I am now sourcing for venues and hoping to hear ur views on CC.

I am thinking of a more simple affair and might be taking their lunch instead of dinner.

Please email me at [email protected]
Thanks!!

hi grooms and brides to-be of club chinois,

i've recently attended my friend's wedding dinner at orchard parade hotel. he had actually booked through club chinios but was recommended to take the hotel's ballroom as he had more tables. here is one feedback for you guys in preparation for you AD...

if you're hosting your AD thru the hotel ballroom, pls check your seat linen and chairs... esp if you've close to 30 tables. reasons?

we, the helpers, were suprised that there were more than 20 chairs that did not balance on 4 legs... meaning your guest has to seat balanced on 3 legs instead. some of the seat backrest were not reclined slightly backwards but were either 90 degress straight or inclined inwards. we feedback to the hotel staff during a pre-dinner check and they told us that spare replacements were not enough to replace all faulty ones. thus, some of my friend's guests had to seat thru 3-legged chairs thruout the dinner.

in addition, the linen differs in quality amongst one another. some (a) look worn (b) were torn (c) not fitting (d) not ironed well (e) with stain marks (f) discoloured. however, the hotel staff did changed the covers once highlighted.

hope you guys take the feedback in mind to make your AD experience a great one for both your guests and yourselves. cheers!

Hi Fanyong, Andy Ho
I am really keen in looking at your photos..
And is Club Chinos with the Chinese decor ?
I love the decor in china club but do not like the layout of the tables. Wonder is it the same as in club chinos.
Thanks in advance!

Hi snow baby and pingypooky,

No problem. I will post up my wedding photos once they've been done up by my photographer.

If you wish to get a projector, as Club Chinois does not have a projector, you can contact Brandon at 92952543. It is only $88 and Brandon will bring the projector, set it up to ensure that it is working, and collect it back after the end of your wedding dinner.

If you're looking for photography services, you can contact Leonard Ho at 97493503. He has a variety of photo services with different ranges. Before calling them, just let them know that you've been recommended by Andy Ho whose wedding was 2 days ago at Club Chinois @ Orchard Parade Hotel and they will know

mehmeh I think i have taken some pics of the bridal suite too.. U may take a look.

However, as my wedding was held in Oct last year, there may be some changes by now. So you may want to ask somemore whose wedding is more recent to send you their photos too.
