Hi, anyone know is LEE Brothers Contract & Design connected to A&D? I was being quoted on this letterhead.
 
Hi Leomom, it the same company. My quote also under their letter heard... if I am not wrong, Lee is the surname of the few brothers who open this A&D.

my contract is also under this letter head...
you know la, the GST thingy so a lot of companies are doing the same thing... opening many company names but actually same company la...

I also looked for Louis after reading some of the comments from this site.

Yup, i agreed with most of you Louis is good and not the pushy kind. Someone who is willing to discuss with ours and ensure all our needs are inside his design. Though quotation is a bit out of our budget, he will willing to review again to see if which area he can help us to cut down on the cost. So far my impression towards him is good.
 
Hi Apple, if u doing carpentary work, the ID will liaise with them... u oni need to tell the ID wa u wa to do/change/amend... the ID will "Bao" all the stuff...
 
Oh... mine nv requested but oni yest I overheard Louis talking to Tony when he was at my new house. So I guess my carpentary is Tony also... hehe...
 
Hi apple, my reno almost complete liao. Louis came to our hse to do the final touch up... and yest we just confirmed him to change all the switches in our all to designer switch. He quote us $250 for all the switches including the 2 heater switches also. Not sure whether he quote us cheap or ex.

Hmm not sure abt the price. but give an est of $10 per switch then if it adds up to a reasonable amt then ok.
 
Hi Smiles, my reno is 99% done, oni some minor touch up to be done. So far his service is good, although some of the reno is abit slow to finish. Other then that nothing more. I can say, he a person who u will feel comfortable liaise with, he's not pushy and listen to ideas. He will also suggest ideas to u when u need some.

Thought I would just share some experiences I had with A&amp;D (Raymond).

I did my first house renovation with him and everything went very well. My house was very well done, hence after 3 years, I decided to do some more renovation works with them again.

They are currently working on my house and I can seriously say that I'm extremely disappointed with them. Many problems cropped up along the way and I personally feel that Raymond is simply too busy to handle my account and instead of the nice, easy going self we knew 3 years ago, he has become very self centred, maybe because business is growing for them!

Here are the problems I faced:

1. Wrong toilet tiles were delivered to my home. They were the same design but of the wrong colour!! Luckily I decided to pop by my place for a look and discovered that mistake. When I called Raymond, he got defensive and insisted that I mistook the colour! My god, did he think I was colour blind? However, I insisted he check my order (which he did) and got back to me saying that he wrote the order correctly but the supplier delivered the wrong tile colour. The tiles were then exchanged.

2. This just happened today. I'm simply so upset. I am buying a new toilet bowl(WC) for my MBR because the WC was faulty. However, because I am laying over a new set of toilet tiles for both toilets, both WCs (kitchen and MBR) had to be removed first. The contractors hence were told to throw away one set of the WC, presumably from my MBR as I would be getting a new one. However, as I arrived at my home today, I realised to my horror that the workers had thrown away the good WC from my kitchen toilet and left the faulty WC behind!

I was so furious and called Raymond asking what happened!! He got very defensive and insisted that his workers had thrown away the right WC (MBR). However, as we had changed the flushing system in the MBR WC, we were extremely sure they had left behind the faulty WC instead. Raymond checked and kept calling us back to insist his workers had thrown the correct WC away.

Me and my hubby just grew angrier and angrier. Who could know the WCs better than us? We insisted he go down to our house to take a look at the condition of the WC they left behind. After that, Raymond didn't bother calling us back anymore.

It seems to me now that I am FORCED to buy an additional WC for the kitchen toilet as there is no point putting the faulty WC back into the kitchen toilet anymore!!

My goodness... I am still fuming mad!! He is simply too irresponsible! I do hope that he doesn't try to test my patience anymore because there is a limit to it.

He had better settle this problem for me soon!!
 
so sorry for you flight, i guess we still hav to no matter what check out on our flat now and then, i did at first short list them but then decide on another.. hee i keep telling mine that i will everyday take picture of my reno and check everyday cos 5 blk away ma my new flat.. no joke, must self alert, we never know wat happen next.. sadly to say very popular ones right now are to busy to bother new ones, they tru to get as much as they can but lower their quality,, i've been now and then remind mine not to do rough job for me when i start my reno lo..
 
Yup, totally agree with you.

Never trust a contractor completely.. if not all will be in a mess and YOU will be the one to have a shock in the end.

Raymond returned the toilet bowl to my home already. But he was so irresponsible not to tell me that it was swapped. Guess he wanted to 'catch' me on that. Dunno la.. can't trust him anymore.
 
really shock to see that their work start to deteriorate.. i guess every popular reno company sure got their bad things.. not to say a &amp; d, h* b** also quite surprise that didn't give another forumer satisfaction.. esp id price but contractor services given.. anyway i went to get their quote &amp; drop them already.. i guess its always who that attended to you did do his job good..
 
jus a reminder, some id/ contractor does check on this forum.. wonder can there be a thread to attention to some id/contractor company that they didn't do this or that properly :p stress man, they might have to read forum everyday to keep updates of their complains ha ha
 
From my knowledge, A&amp;D does check the forums but not everyday (think once a while, not free to check everyday also =P)
Cos when i was dealing with them one month back and mentioned something from the forum, he said he knew about it also.
Maybe you all can start complaining here so that they can buck up =P
 
All I can say it just luck. Some meet good one some dont. For me I did send a few of my enquires to other ID. A&amp;D is one of them and they are the one of them who reply. In the end we choose them. I am also worry ab story of contractors attutide and services. I can say is no reno can go as smoothly as u wa it to be. I do hv hiccups in between. Just hv to give and take lor.

If u find the ID no good, just hvae him change rather then getting angry. We are the customers ma. They also scared ab losing their good name too.
 
ya agree must choose wan that you like.. sometimes ppl cant be also polite, if they have unhappy things happen before they meet us, they might not be able to perform well lo
 
Can some1 tell me how is A &amp; D's workmanship? I am also considering them. Have not got round to seeing their work yet.

Ya I agreed Louis is good. But I rem the contractor accidently throw away the shower that was previously left behind by the owner. In the end he fork out his own $$ to buy us the new one for both toilets. I cant say their workmanship is the best, cos I know some ID is even better. But at least A&amp;D workmanship is above our expectation. Especially the floor and wall tiles, I think they did a very good job. Overall my reno was up to the standard.

i'm also thinkg of changing my switches 2 designer's. also quoted abt $250 wif e switches inclusive. have u done urs? how many switches do u hav?

Ya they quoted me the same price as urs. I change all the switches in my hse, I think there are ab 25 switched altogether.
