Heys Kai Jing, hmm i did not explore that option. but for hotstamp you pay a flat rate for the template (about $70 i think) for printing. so it might be more economical to choose either hotstamp and inserts rather than a mixture of both (just my personal opinion).

btw, Jac if you have more time or options to spare, can consider my photographers Tuckys photography or fabiencohen photography too.

Mawie, thanks for sharing, i did hot stamp for my invites too, mine is traditional red colour card and i did gold colour hot stamp on it, it is nice too

Kai Jing, my opinion is same as mawie, u need to pay to do the template first then they can use it to print on your card, so since you need to pay for the template, it's better to make full use of it, cos u can use it once only, haha, for cost wise, doing inserts are definately cheaper than hotstamp

If you are considering 4 cartons? You might want to try this shop in Toa Payoh - EURO LINK bLK 85A, I jus went down on saturday and found out the red wines prices are quite cheap and they offer free delivery plus refund of unopened wine.

Jac, well it depends on your guests'drinking habits but I would say the modern crowd would definitely go for wine instead of beer.... but amazingly CC informed me that about $11k worth of beer was consumed that evening, not that I had to pay for it as I went for the free flow beer option, but rather to show me my 'savings'. I guess leftover isn't an issue, as you could bring it home for own consumption, least not wasted.

Nope i did not engage a VG. Similar to you, my ROM was held separately (2 years ago) with no PG and VG. But if you approach your preferred VG and PG to shoot your ROM and AD too, I am sure you can get better rates.

Am trying hard to visualise how the cards look, but pardon my ignorance...I thought CC provides the cards and we just print? So...the hotstamp is just take the card from CC and stamp on the card using a template which we have?

And inserts are just pieces of paper u print..then insert into the card?

well CC will refer u to Stephen from Focal-Ad, then when u get to Focal which is located at Ubi area, Stephen will go through with you on the types of cards provided by CC and those which require top-ups. then he will run through with you the hotstamps or inserts samples.

Stephen will have the templates, you would just have to provide both your fathers' chinese and english names will do.

yes, inserts are pieces of paper where the details of your celebration is printed on and attached to the card either by using gold strings or pasting it.
 
Mawie, u mention u place some tables with 11 paxs. May i know is it because these tables have ppl with special orders (eg. malay / vegetarian)? Cos i do have a few guest requiring special orders and i intend to place 11 pax so as not to waste the food.

And, if 10 pax plus 1 baby chair, will it still be squeeze?

Yes for some tables I had 11 pax as there was one muslim in the table, however as my guest list somehow expanded along the way, so Cornelius provided me with a table arrangement of the number of tables which could fit 11 pax, but after my wedding, i realized that it was not very feasible as my guests did mention that it was a little too tight. this is due to the leather chairs being used, they are wider and also very heavy. as far as possible try not to have any 11 seaters, even if the baby makes up the 11th person.

I mean cheap as I am looking at jacobs creek, think it is $25 in NTUC, but they selling at 19.50 after discount. They also have wine below the cost of $15 if you prefer. But we are not considering those becos we have a group of guest who are very good drinkers, so we intend to spend a little more on wines.

I got my inserts printed at abt $90+ for 250 pieces, but without map at the back. That cost $50 more and tot it wouldn't be necessary. Anyone knows whether Focal-ad add on charges for printing the map at the back?
 
phua HK, if you do hotstamp map on the back of card, the charges will be standard, a flat fee (if i remember correctly is $50 / $70) for the template, and print fee (forget how much) for each card.

Hi hi, i'm new here but glad that i join cz learnt so many things here..I'm holding my AD on 26April09 sunday at the restaurant...just went for the food tasting last sun mine is 7 + 1 dessert..
most pro is 23 tables..
like to check 18, 19 and 21 according to the map and person in charge supposedly cannot see stage, is it true..good to put in 11 ppl?
hope i can share any info your need..to comment on food, i dun like the 2nd last dish the lotus rice...as not much taste will change to noodle most pro..

there are a few tables which does not have the stage view. in the end i actually used the 5 tables private room and put up a live feed plasma TV in there. really not advisable to put 11 pax tables as my guests did feedback that it was cramp. and for the food, would agree that the mee sua is a better choice than lotus rice.

Heys randyce, overall happy with what was provided with good and large portions of food and a spacious suite.

oohhh i used up 2 of the 3 tables in the other private room as well. 17 in the main hall + 5 in private room + 2 in another private room, total 24 tables that evening.

well i guess if you provide live feed into that room, dun have to inform them of where they are seated. but a small feedback was those in the 5 table private room felt the service level wasnt as prompt, maybe you could feedback to the banquet manager prior to the wedding.

im thinking of taking CC but i only have 20 tables.. so only can take restaurant. lol.. the chair no cushion cover leh

Any comments on either the classic or elegance menu after food tasting? Nice or better to change some of the dishes?

elbarc > personally see no problem as I wud have continued with CC if not for the space constraint as well as holding my wedding in my own country club has more privileges ... hehe
 
hey gals/guys,
i just went down to CC on Tues, and I have an issue with the podium. The tung lok brass plate logo is affixed there in the centre, and on the left and right hand side, there is a please do not use handphone and please do not take pictures sign.
Any way we can hide that?
