Ling> Novotel also has nett price.

DS_Gerl> You are right. I attended my friend's solemnisation in the afternoon at the level 2 function room followed by a small buffet near the sofa area on level 2. At night dinner at Pacific Ballroom. So agree if its a super hot date, all venues may be used up and there may be 6 weddings! So many brides in one hotel then. Hehe..

I wana check if your coordinators designate the venue for food tasting or you can choose? Ivan was telling us we'll have ours in the level 2 function room where we'll hv privacy to speak to chef. I thought its better at Hai Tien Lo so we can enjoy nice scenery while eating! ha..

Hi babe,

I might be taking up the ocean ballroom too.

Can check if you all have the latest themes as my coordinator email me some today and ask me to view thru.

They are pink&lilac , Blue&cream , black&red, and ivory.

She told me these four themes are for 2011.

Hi

My name is Jarls from Singapore and I am an undergraduate at a Hospitality Management school in Switzerland. For my undergraduate dissertation, I am looking at the negotiation behaviour of prospective wedding couples looking to hold their wedding banquet at 5-star hotels in Singapore.

Your response is kindly appreciated and will aid in the completion of my paper.

This survey will take up 15-20 minutes of your time.

Thank you.

Have you confirmed your wedding at pan pacific on the 20 Nov 2011? Dinner or lunch? Care to share how much did you pay this premium date? I'm looking for this date also..

Hi!

I'm new here & a btb in June 2011. Now looking for wedding banquet venue. Can you send me the 2011 wedding lunch package for Pan Pac? Any coordinator from Pan Pac to recommend? If so, can I have the email address too?

Wonder if lunch on 19 June is still available! *panic*

@ jcls: hi.. i suggest u better email straight to those hotels you're interested and ask for the available dates, at the same time get them to email you their lunch package.

June 2011 is actually quite near~ so get hold of the available dates first.. it will be easier for u.

By the way, does anyone knows if there's corkage waiver for all wine and if we could bring in our own wine?

What else should we ask or look out for? I'm meeting up with Pan Pac this weekend~!

Hi Yang,

I spoke to all three hotels when shopping for a banquet venue this April.

These are my personal opinions:

Intercon - love the victorian ballroom and surprise march in (from the so-called garden right into the ballroom). But the coordinator who liaised with me provided bad service and did not follow up.

Mandarin Oriental - Next best bet. Like the piano accompaniment during reception. Nice coordinator. But on my date - 20112011 they required a $5k surcharge on top of the total cost.

Pan Pac - Coordinator is warm and friendly. Can negotiate and willing to compromise. Good experience so far. But only thing is the carpet that I dun like. Hah!

Hope the above helps!! =)

Hihi, anyone knows wat is the maximum no. of tables for the Pacific and Ocean Ballroom?

SSAC: Ya, Intercon ballroom is nice and classic but I find it too expensive. It is comparable with Conrad already.

Hi natty,

I just went for a wedding at Swissotel the Stamford on Sat. My friend took the smaller ballrooms with 25 tables. In my opinion, it's quite bad actually. For the first march-in, a little sabo was planned whereby the groom had to drink a special drink (actually it's just beer) before they can proceed. The MC had to call for it 3 times before they were given it. For the second march-in, there was no music! They only played it when they reached the steps to the stage. >.<" Their dishes are divided by the waiters and served individually. Very unevenly served though. 1 plate can have 4 scallops and the other plate have 1. Food taste so-so. Don't know if it's b'cos there was a number of weddings that night.

Hmm.. I went for a wedding dinner on the 10th. Also the smaller ballroom.

Found it quite strange that the couple marched in from the 'back door'. Beyond that was the stairs for staff I believe. The waiter introduced himself and said we could inform him if we require any assistance. No problem with food portion. Felt that the ceiling was rather low. Saw a few angmohs there. They seem to be execs from the hotel making sure things run smoothly. But I dun see them doing consrtuctive work. This is my 2 cents worth.

Yes I've paid the $3k deposit on 24 Oct. Until now didn't hear from them. I emailed 2 wks ago and was told that they are very bz but will get back in 2-3 weeks from 24 oct. Didn't hear from them. I hope they won't forget me.

Also, before we officially sign the contract, it is ok for us to request for things like early check-in & to clarify on AV stuff etc? Dunno when is the gd time to ask since they are so bz. Sigh sigh

jcls> wow, that's abit too long... who's ur sales? u shld call him/her liao...

yes, u shld discuss/nego for perks b4 u sign the contract and all agreements will be stated in the contract black & white.

BTW for early check-in, it's depending on availability and hence they can't commit to u this so soon.. u can highlight to them when ur date is nearer, usually shldn't be a prob as long as it not too early as in normal chk in is 2pm but request early chk in like in the morning?
