TLJ> Mmm... that is unforunate.. but it didnt happen for my fren's wedding on 16th May though.. phew.. hehe...

Just that we do feel the food standard dropped alot. had expected a lot more.. it has always been my dream wedding.. but other guests had real nice comments abt them though..

i guess incidents does happen everywhere... get them a break... if we were to worry tooo much, things might jus get worse... so just relax... and let hotel do the stuff.. and pray that everything will turn out fine... =)
 
i booked SMC for my AD coming Nov and will be holding the ROM solemnization at the poolside on the same day too. I heard so much comments about the good food and nice ballroom previously and I love the place so much I commit on the viewing day. Really hope it turns out well..-cross my fingers-

gg for my food tasting in Aug.. excited!! My soleminsation will be held on the same day too.. but den will be held in function room thou...

Was thinking whether to do it at the foyer since we have e foyer by ourselves..

I personally feel this article can add as a gentle reminder for MC to review their services. I will expect to see improvement by then.. keke,my AD is Dec..so fingers cross.. ;)
 
Hi all...haven't been here for quite some time, I'm a Nov'08 bride with MC, was wondering if their new themes r out yet? Should I contact my coordinator now or later (rayston)? Usually when will food-tasting and printing of cards be?
 
I'm an Oct'08 bride with MC too. ^0^ Hubby has just called up Rayston to check for the date for food tasting. He has told us that it'll be in Jul08. But he'll call us again to confirm the date & time.

hello...mine will be in Nov 08...food tasting in Aug/Sep...when i signed up with Pris i did mentioned that i heard the service is not very good. but she just smiled and didnt say anything much. but will definately remind her again cuz after reading STOMP and hearing negative comments from friends who have been to MC this year for dinner ...really am disappointed and kind of worried.

Hm...think all of us (merchant court brides to be) should email our concern to them and add pressure on them... ha do u all think will work?? to [email protected] and asked them to employ those more matured kids and not any how employ those part timer kids o serve customers.... wat do u all think?

Overall, I think Merchant is excellent, with their grand ballroom and exclusiveness.

Not woried about their food tho, cos seems like I do not have taste buds... ha.. cos everywhere I go to, the food taste the same to me

i think it's kind of difficult to email to them as a group. But as individuals prob we should keep reminding them...
 
My AD in Nov....met Priscilla to finalise the themes. Same as previous - Romance or Garden. but you can choose mixture if you want

ya the last i checked with Pris the theme was still Romance/Garden. Think the wedding favours are the same also..
 
hi all, i read quite a bad review of SMC's after service in styleweddings.com and am quite worried. i was served by rayston and signed the contract with him as well and i din receive any email from him that he was leaving.actually, his attitude towards us wasnt too friendly as well when we met but we thought that he takes time to warm up to. called the hotel today and got confirmation. Priscilla would be serving us instead. any comments on her?

She does attend to your needs if is not too much to ask for .. So far so good with their services just that during the initial stage there are some misunderstanding..

well... the perks at SMC is quite strict. MOst impt thing is that you must like the ambience.
But SMC do have a wedding show in sept, heard the perks are quite good. If you all are interested, you can call Priscilia to find out 62391756.

I emailed her twice asking for some confirmation but she didnt get back to me. I called her then she said it's still early, she cant let me know the info now.
Although I'm quite strict on customer service but i think at least the basic courtesy would be to reply my email.
Since hearing all those rumours and incidents about SMC, they still do not seem to be bucking up.
Anyway i dont have a choice since i've signed up with them.

This i agree with sapphire.. They're very slow in replying email.. but i guess is coz they hvae only 2 coordinator?? Anyway, call her after your send your email.. This is wat i usually do...
 
Hey All, i called SMC today as i saw the wedding show ad.Priscilla picked up the line and she was real nice. a pity that she is not my coordinator. there is a new coordinator coming next mon and she will be my coordinator.Hopefuly she is as nice as Prisc.
i am going for the wedding show as there is new themes, invitations and favors in the showcase. anyone going?
 
I guess with limited resources and the coming wedding show, they are get busy. So after you email them, you better call them to remind them.

I am like bubb. After i email them, i will call them up ;)

Hi missy, mine is on a nov weekday.
Im getting confused over the invitation cards order and not getting ample info from SMC and i have to keep asking qns. quite frustrating.
Can anybody advise how long before the AD should the cards be printed?

Normally is during your food tasting.. You can request the cards to be given to you 2mths before ur AD.. as card shd be given to guest at least 1 mth before ur Ad..
 
Hi Sapphire....my AD is also in Nov....had my food-tasting in June as my bf went overseas in Jul and wont be back till week of wedding....

Already collected my cards....thought will take few weeks to print...but my Mum says don't print in Lunar 7th Month, so now waiting for the 8th Month

is the rate for merchant court for weekend in 2008 still $918 nett.
i used to enquire w rayston when i scouting for rom venue n yes indeed they r very stingy when comes to perks. everything i ask, ans is no no no.

My food tasting is next week, so prob pass her my print order form next week.
But not sure what are those info required on the form, prob have to check with the printer.
 
attended the food tasting last Saturday for my wedding in Nov. it was awesome! my dad who is normally fussy about food gave the thumbs-up. now all we hope is that the standard will remain the same, if not better during the actual dinner!
