"And for some Cantonese, they don't like to fetch the bride at 9am due to pan-tang reasons."

Hi David, may I know due to what reasons? Me and my wife are both Cantonese, don't think we've heard of this 'rule' before.

And I presume you meant 'roast pig' instead of 'roast pork' right? cos roast pork is cheap, roast pig is very expensive haha.

Hi Thomas,

haha yes roast pig, not roast pork. Indeed it is more expensive
happy.gif

Coz 9am in Cantonese, the pronounication sounds like "hook". So some elderly said it will 'hook your spouse away"
happy.gif
But don't worry. This won't happen unless in a person's Bazi Destiny chart, it is meant to be this way!

Hi Master Tong

In your reply to Angie, can i check, to cheat by doing it in different year, does it have to be lunar year?

If say sibling wedding in Dec 09, can cheat by doing mine in Jan 2010 (diff english year but same lunar year).

Thanks!

Hi minnie_goh,

Yes some do use different english yr. Since this is a "cheating" method, it does not differentiate between lunar year or english year. Either one can be used
happy.gif
But of course whenever possible, i will still stick by the original method of 12 mths apart.

Sorry Master Tong, forgot to ask... read about the part on siblings cannot get married in the same year. Which is considered 'married' - ROM or AD?
Cos my ROM will be end of this year but AD late next year, and my elder sister is probably getting married (solemnisation + wedding) some time next year too. Is this ok?
Appreciate your advice again.

Hi ipc,

For 2010 dates, as much as i want to help you in the area of general good dates, the Tong Shu is not out yet, so i will not know or be able to select general Tong Shu auspicious date for wedding for 2010 yet. Right now, the only way and also the right and accurate way of doing it will be using Bazi to select dates. FYI, a date reflected auspicious in the Tong Shu may still be bad for both of you if the date chosen is not compatible wtih both your Bazi.

As for Bazi wedding dates selection, it is part of my consultation service to my clients, hence i can't provide it here free in the forum or it will be unfair to my clients who paid for my service. Hope you understand.

If you have any particular date in mind, just post it here. I can advise you if it is a bad day as there are some days that are definitely bad and cannot be used for marriage; and some days that will clash to either of you or your parents, so cannot be used as well.

Hi macadamia3050,

In fact, ROM is the real marriage coz that is the day both of you officially become husband and wife. But for AD, the elderly still regards this as very important (although it is just tea ceremony and banquet). Since this is just a chinese belief or superstion that siblings cannot get married in the same year, no one in this world can measure how accurate it is, right or wrong. Hence on the safe side, i will recommend taking both ROM and AD into account if possible (unless really no choice).

In your case, try to do it in different calendar years and at least 3 mths apart, if possible. If really no choice, the ROM will be taken as the marriage date.

Hi souless,

I need more info from you such as your parent's animal signs and when you want your wedding to be held. If 2010, the Tong Shu is not out yet hence i will not be able to provide general dates now at this moment.

Hi Scrumpy,

If you do Bazi dates selelction, you don't have to wait for the Tong Shu to come out. Using Bazi, you can select dates for ANY year.

For 18 Sept, it clash to Ox, which is none of you.

For 2 Oct, it clashes to Rabbit, hence cannot use.

Therefore, 18/9 is another date that might be able to be used if it matches the Bazi.

I can't provide you with general 2010 dates now as the Tong Shu is not out yet. The only way to do it without the Tong Shu is to use Bazi to select dates, which is the authentic and accurate method.

Hope this helps and have a nice weekend

Hi Master Tong,

We will be getting married in Dec 2009.

groom:monkey
Father:snake
Mother:dragon

Bride:rooster
Father:rat
Mother:dragon

Understand that there is several events during the AD need to choose a good timing.

1. Time to Fetch The Bride,
2. Time for Bride to Step into Groom's House

Pls advise is there a need to choose the time for the bride to return to her parent's house.

We've shortlisted one of my frenz to be jie mei on the AD. However, she is born in Tiger year. Is it advisable for us to approach her to be jie mei coz her zodiac (tiger) clashes with my hubby's zodiac(Monkey). Or it does not matter.

Thanks alot in advance for your advice.

Hi Master Tong

We had our bazi read and we given a timing (7am to 11am) to fetch the bride and complete the tea ceremony. Is abit confused as read from the previous post, you give a specific timing on when the groom must step into the bride house and complete the tea ceremony but seems like mine timing is quite a big range.

Would like to enquire is there any timing that I need to avoid for my case?

Would like to ask whether 16th Sep 2010 is a good day? Thanks!

Bride: Goat
Groom: Hose

Hi winter2331,

There is no need to choose a time for the bride to return to parent's house. You only need a time for the groom to step into your home, fetch you to his home and complete the tea ceremony with his parents.

>We've shortlisted one of my frenz to be jie mei >on the AD. However, she is born in Tiger year. >Is it advisable for us to approach her to be >jie mei coz her zodiac (tiger) clashes with my ?>hubby's zodiac(Monkey). Or it does not matter.

This is not how it works. It does not matter. The jie mei cannot be the zodiac sign that clashes with the day you are getting married in, not clash with you or your hubby.

Hope this helps

Hi Hui hui,

I need your parents' animal signs to see if the day clashes with them.

For 16/9/2010, the auspicious timing is from 7am - 8.59am. The 9am to 10.59am timing is not a good timing. Normally 1 Chinese hour "Shi Chen" is 2 hours, so we normally give 2 hours interval.

In your case, the groom has to step into your house at 7am, fetch you to his home and complete tea ceremony with his parents by 8.59am.

Hope this helps

Dear Master,

Please advise for An Chuang, do we still have the combing hair session, the boy jumping session nowadays?

Also, for the bedside lamp - do we need to light it overnight before the big day? (I like the traditional oil lamp)

Thanks

Hi Master Tong,
Thanks for the advice!

Btw, if we did not select any good timing for ROM signing, will this affect anything?

Didn't know that ROM need to have a specific timing so we just choose a good date (based on our bazi) and do the signing in the evening.

Hi Wong,

I did checked for you the dates for Sep but there are none due to 7th month which has already taken up more than half the month. The rest of the good dates all clashes.

You will need to choose a good timing for your ROM and Fetch the bride once you selected the day.

Hi Ann,

Here are the analysis:

6/11 - Bad day for wedding. Cannot use.
13/11 - Clash to Rooster. Cannot use
20/11 - Clash to Dragon. Cannot use
27/11 - Clash to Pig. Cannot use.

Hence all these dates are not useable. Hope this helps
