Hi Adeline,

I will need you and your parents animal signs for that.

If you've posted before, please repost again coz with the increasing amount of postings, most of the previous thread is already archived and buried somewhere that is not easy to find. Thanks

Hi vitamincc18,

You don't have to go to such an extent. And anyway, unless you know the solemnizer, I don't think it is polite to ask them what is their animal sign as well

Hope this helps

Hi Ducky,

Yes i understand but if you use the 2010 dates, bear in mind that even if you go by general tong shu dates, when you open up the 2010 tong shu, every single day in the tong shu will be reflected as inauspicious for those born in year of the monkey. No matter which system you use, Bazi or Tong Shu, both still advise not to get married in Tiger year.

Here are the dates analysis:

27 & 28 March 2010 - 27/3 clash to Horse. Cannot use. 28/3 doesn't clash to anyone.
20 & 21 March 2010 - 20/3 doesn't clash to anyone. 21/3 clash to Rat, cannot use.
13 March - Not a good day for wedding
6 & 7 March 2010 - 6/3 Doesn't clash to anyone. 7/3 is not a good day for wedding
27 or 28 Feb 2010 - Both not good days for wedding

Only those dates that doesn't clash may be used if the dates are compatible with the Bazi. In terms of general dates, we will have to wait for the tong shu to be out to determine if those few dates are general good dates for wedding.

Hope this helps.

Hi Master Tong,

I am born in the year of horse (78) and my partner is born in the year of Monkey (80). Does it mean that it is not suitable for us to get married in the year of Tiger 2010 as Monkey clashes with Tiger?

Hi spqing17,

Though the procedures are not normal, it is just our chinese tradition after all. So the good news is that it does not bring any impact or whatsoever to your marriage, so not to worry too much and enjoy your wedding day
happy.gif

The auspicious timing to fetch the bride that day will be 0700hrs - 0859hrs.

Hope this helps

Hi cynthia tan,

Yes that is correct. In fact, ROM is even more important coz that is the day both of you become legally and officially husband and wife. On your marriage cert, it will state you get married on DD/MM/2009. So yes, ROM is very important

Hi May,

There is no need to provide sibling's animal signs
happy.gif

Here are the analysis:

8 May 2010 - Not a good day for wedding
15 May 2010 - Clash to Goat, cannot use.
23 May 2010 - CLash to Rabbit, which is none of you.

Hence only 23 May 2010 doesn't clash. Note that this is not considered a good date yet. The Bazi has yet to be checked against with and the Tong Shu is not out yet.

For 23 May, fetch the bride timing will be 0700hrs - 0859hrs.

Hope this helps.

Hi Joanne,

Yes, that is possible. In fact, that is what i have been doing for my consultation service. And that is the correct and authentic way of selecting an auspicious date, whether if it is for wedding, move in, start reno, start business etc etc. Using just the Tong Shu alone is not sufficient and often not correct. A date stated as auspicius in the Tong Shu can still be deemed as inauspicious for both of you if the date is not compatible with both your Bazi.

And in Bazi wedding dates selection, there is no need for the Tong Shu to be out. Hence it allows you to select date for ANY year. This allows you top beat the crowd to book your venue first. In fact, I started selecting dates for 2010 way back last yr this time. So you can imagine when the Tong Shu is out for 2010, most of the hotels would have already been booked. And now i am already selecting for 2011 dates (about 20 couples now...). And the Tong Shu for 2011 will only be out sometime next year this time!!! By then, it will not be easy to book hotels for your banquet, esp for weekends.

Hope this helps.

Hi Master Tong

We are moving to a new property and intend to customize an Altar Table for worshipping Goddess of Mercy. We were told there are "feng shui measurements" for Altar Tables. Our ID suggested Length 81cm and width 47.5cm.

We hope you can help to shine some light on this please.

Thank you very much!

Hi Master Tong,

Me found this at another thread, does this meant that it is true?? wat our birth year 'animal' is not equivalent to our animal that we provide u?? so we muz really go & calculate our bazi, is it??

Thanks thanks...

I just got my dates from long shifu also. Did he mention to anyone of u here that he had calculated the dates base on the zodiac sign on the day we are born and not the zodiac sign that we are born in the year of?

Eg, if born in yr of rat, doesnt mean u're rat but if ur day falls on zodiac sign dragon, he will calculate the dates based on dragon instead. If u refer to the booklet with ur bazi inside, u will realise that the "day" bazi were highlighted in red and u can find the zodiac below.

He said that this was the actual way, not the usual way of looking at the animal of the year. I have nv heard of this before, so was wondering if anyone encounter this as well?

Maybe this is also why some of u here finds that the date he picks dun seem to be gd for ur zodiac sign. Anyway, but if what he say is correct, then is also a bit contradicting cos he ask for both parent's zodiac sign and no birth date of parents are required. That means he wont be able to knw the zodiac sign on the day they were born (if u get what i'm trying to say earlier on).

Anyway, he's quite a fatherly figure and provide lots of advice on the essentials events. He surprise us with a few qns then we were like blur blur. lolx!

Hope to hear more opinions from u guys again.

Hi Master Tong,

Thank you for your advice earlier. My situation is the same as Ducky. 2009 is too rush for us and 2011 is too long for us to wait. So we can only settle in 2010 even though it is inauspicious cuz my HTB is born in the yr of Monkey.

We have selected some dates for our AD next yr, kindly advise us as we need to select the venue for our big day liao.

9 Oct 2010
30 Oct 2010
20 Nov 2010
27 Nov 2010

Bride: Horse (Mar 1978)
Bride's Mom: Rabbit (Mar 1951)
Bride's Dad: Dragon (Feb 1952)

Groom: Monkey (Nov 1980)
Groom's Mom: Horse (Sep 1954)
Groom's Dad: Deceased

Thanks alot in advance and looking forward to your reply. c",)

My other half and I are thinking to ROM on 20 Nov 09. Is it a good date, if not, could you suggest other dates during the late Oct - Nov 09 period?

Groom: Pig
Groom's mom: Pig
Groom's dad: Dog

Bride: Pig
Bride's mom: Sheep
Bride's dad: Dog

Many thanks in advance.

Hi littlethings,

In Authentic/Classical Feng Shui, measurements does not matter. So you don't have to worry about this at all. No matter what measurements you use for the altar, i rest assure you that it will not affect the feng shui of your house

Hi Angie,

I do not wish to comment on other Master's way of doing things here. Hope you understand.

No matter which Master you engage, most importantly is that he must be responsible and you are comfortable with him. What he says must also make sense and logical, and not trying to 'smoke' you with impossible to understand feng shui jargons.

Hi Angie,

With regards to your other qns, that is for siblings only. Siblings should not get married on the same yr,so some 'cheat' by doing it in different years.

For the 3 mths thingy, it is a different thing. You are not suppose to attend other friends' wedding 3 mths before and after your own wedding.

Hi Scrumpy,

Here are the analysis:

9 Oct 2010 - Bad day for wedding. Avoid.
30 Oct 2010 - Doesn't clash to anyone
20 Nov 2010 - Clash to Dragon. Cannot use.
27 Nov 2010 - Bad day for wedding. Avoid.

Only 30/10 doesn't clash. Note that this is not considered an auspicious date yet as the Bazi is not taken into account. If you are after only tong shu general dates, the tong shu is not out yet so we can't verify if it is a good general date for wedding at this moment till it is out.

Hi spqing17,

You will have to step into the groom's house within the 2 hours i gave you. Since you are doing at your parent's side first for tea ceremony, it will be very very rush (coz that is not the norm).

Hi macadamia3050,

20th Nov 09 is a very bad date for wedding. Avoid at all cost.

Other general dates you can look at are:

25/10, 28/10, 30/10, 17/11, 18/11, 30/11

Hope this helps

Hi Master Tong,

We were given the date 06/12/09 and timing to be btw 9am to 11am for our ROM..

Groom: Sheep (Hokkien)
Dad: Dragon
Mom: Rabbit
Bro: Rat

Bride: Dog (Cantonese)
Dad: Snake
Mom: Horse (Passed Away)
Aunt: Rat
Bro: Lunar is Tiger yr but born in early jan 1986, so consider Tiger and not Bull rite?

At the point when we asked for the date, we only told the master that its for ROM. So we were told to sign the cert between 9am to 11am but now we are thinking of doing the customary as well.. Do we have to finish the traditional customary btw 9am to 11am too? or is it possible to do it earlier, say 7am? And is there anything we hav to take note for diff dialects?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Angie,

No offences at all. Due to professional ethics, I do not want to comment on what other masters are doing and if they are right or wrong, especially if the name of the master is mentioned.

If the question does not point to any master, I will take it as a general question and I will answer it. You get what i mean.

By the way, outside of this topic, when you get someone to calculate a wedding date based on Bazi, that person must know how to read and interpret a Bazi. That means he must know how to read and analyse your destiny from a Bazi chart. Not just get from you your Bazi and uses just the animal sign. For that, you don't need a Bazi! You just need the zodiac sign. I've seen too many clients who came to me for second opinion consultation and supposely the dates are calculated based on Bazi. But when i look at what is done, the Bazi is not even written in the paper given to them! And obviously those dates are not selected based on Bazi, just general Tong Shu dates only.

To know how to read and interpret a Bazi is not easy. Most of the time the dates you get from temples etc are just general Tong Shu dates. Most of them will not know how to read and interpret a Bazi. Most of the time a master skilled in reading Bazi will also know Feng Shui and other aspects of Chinese Metaphysics. It's all interrelated.

Hope this helps.

Hi Wendy Lee,

Do you know that this date actually clashes to Rabbit, which is your HTB's mum? By right this date cannot be used!

In addition, 9am - 11am is NOT a good timing. Even if you open up a tong shu, it is not listed as a good timing! If you want to do both on the same day, i will advise you to do Fetch The Bride between 7am - 8.59am. For ROM are you doing dinner or lunch?

For Cantonese, the groom will normally carry a roast pork to the bride's house on AD day. Again, this depends on your parents. Most don't practice it nowadays. And for some Cantonese, they don't like to fetch the bride at 9am due to pan-tang reasons.

Hope this helps.
