DIAMONDS Lovers!!!

Teatree,

The wedding gown must be ULTRA ex! Let me guess is the evening gown SUPER SHINY! HAhahaaa...

I dun like thick make-up. Hmmm... I hired a Japanese make-up artist to do the PS make-up and hair for me. She is more into natural make-up...
I know in Indo.. woman luv SUPER "fluffy" hair-styles when attending banquets. Is that still IN?

canny,

hahaha... yeah man! that night no light was switched on but the room was quite bright because of her. hehehe... exaggerating lah but it was fully beaded with a small train. bride's gown was 2.5 times more ex than the mother's.

yup yup, hairstyles still go quite high in indon. especially the ibu ibu.

Teatree,

I told my designer 1 for brother's wedding and 1 spare lor.
happy.gif
Must give them a lot of time too, if rushed, price will increase again! haha...

Canny, Yah me Indo too.
happy.gif
I made 2 evening gowns in indo, 1 in SG and 1 cheongsam from china. Vain hor... But my bro's wedding is coming too so i need extra. hehe...

Teatree,

HAhahaa... tt so farny. I know that ultra high hairstyle.
happy.gif

Leeds,
Where did u make ur cheongsam from China? I did mine in Shanghai... the CUT and FIT is VERY VERY GOOD! I totally luv it

Canny, No lah i didn't make my cheongsam. My parents went there and bought one for me from some shop, its very cheap like $80 only!! Had to do a bit of alteration but i love it! Feel very sexy in it. hehe... But i'm a bit worried abt sitting down cos the slit is very very high. So i still dont know which part of the wedding i'll wear it for lor...

leeds,

so smart of you. yeah man, need the gown in 1 month then increase by so-and-so percent. when are you going for the next fitting?

canny,

that's why you can always notice indons where ever they are. in singapore, if you see a group of aunties with fluffed up hair, lots of perfume and dripping with diamonds, must be from indon.

hhmhmm... keep talking about cheong sum and i get very tempted to buy one. told my husband i want to get a cheong sum a few months back and you know what he said? 'you sure you have the body to carry the cheong sum??' hahaha... box him really hard after that.

Leeds,

Juz wear your cheongsam during the tea-ceremony lor. BTW.. how do u plan to change?! I mean... u have a total 5 gowns... so how r u going to find the time change during the banquet?

Teatree,
Come on... every woman can carry a cheongsam lar. Should not be a pblm! Cheongsam makes me feel veri confident.
happy.gif
Ohohoh... I got a SUPER good bustier today from the mall... very good leh... itz like a swimming suit bustier...

Teatree,

No lah no more fitting already, my PS is in July so no time to go back indo again. Haha... you and your hubby so funny! You are very tall leh, i'm sure will look good in cheongsam! Actually i feel cheongsam makes a person look very sexy and because of the slit and tight fit, can avert attention from the flaws too! haha... well, thats what i think anyway cos i'm hoping ppl wont notice the bulge of my tummy! haha...

Canny,

I know i know i got too many gowns hor. But i only plan to wear 3 gowns that day, 1 wg, 1 eg, and the cheongsam. The others for other occasions
happy.gif
But i still dont know how the programme is going to run, when to change etc lah. Will plan nearer the date. How abt you, how many times are you going to change?

Leeds,

I plan to change 3 gowns too. 2 evening gowns and 1 wedding gown. Hehehe... still planning on the programme as well.
happy.gif
Have u chosen ur photographer? Who is doing it?

canny, err... is the bustier going to be worn outside or as support underwear?

see you tempt me even more to get myself a cheong sum
happy.gif

leeds, that's why i got lots of hesitation on buying a cheong sum. always thought that because it's tight fitting, it shows flaws even more.you don't need to worry lah, with a few more months of pilates and yoga, your tummy will be as flat as a washboard
happy.gif

hhmm.. you're not going to wear your indon egs for the photoshoot?

Teatree,

The bustier is undergarment lor. I will be wearing it under my EG, Cheongsam and WG. Hehehe... tummy became SUPER flat after wearing it. Go get a cheongsam.
happy.gif
Plus, cheongsam will never be out of style.

Canny,

Thats exactly the type of undergarment i been looking for in SG, but cannot find lor... Thinking of buying online. Any ideas where to find? I haven't found photographer yet. But this Andrew choi sounds good. hmmm... will see lah. I haven't done anymore wedding prep, getting a bit lazy now that all the fun stuff is sorted.
happy.gif

Teatree,

haha... flat as washboard? Dont think it can ever happen, I dont have the discipline! Yah agree with canny, go get a cheongsam lah, looks good, feels good! At most starve for 3 days before wearing it lor...
happy.gif

hello ladies,

all back ! and all yakking again
happy.gif

Leeds, if you wanna do mail order, try victoria secrets or fredericks of hollywood. I know VS mails to SG, not too sure abt the latter though!

sweets,

think i saw fredericks products before, and yum yum! the corsets are just beautiful. but online cannot try, so a little risky.

VS also has some very nice seamless corsets.

leeds, okie okie... will look for a nice and cheap cheong sum. heee...

hi leeds,

eh...... i chose andrew choi thru' the BS. so i dun hv a detailed breakdown of his pkg and price. if i'm not mistaken it's about 2.5K. thereabouts. can call him and check
happy.gif

wah...... u made so many gowns ah!!
happy.gif
so nice! hehe.

canny~ me gg to a seamstress tt a friend told me about. um.... i wanted the translucent at the top and satin lining kind of design, u know what i mean? but may change my mind.
happy.gif

happy.gif

teatree,
I actually bought one from them, but in the end used one that my bridal salon got me and actually altered for me...hehe
happy.gif
but Frederick's stuff really very nice...VS to!!! :P Me a VS lover ... esp their g-strings...super comfy

Oraia, the translucent CS looks very nice
happy.gif
can look very demure esp when there are some embriodary done on it! Arab street carries a really nice range of those material! Good choice!

I just made pizza from scratch today...first attempt...turned out pretty good! Phew! My SO had a great time rolling it and putting toppings on it...like a kid! made me smile haha
happy.gif

Canny..you are so slim..no tummy to even talk about...please~!

Hey Gals,

The corset I got is from VS is seamless and hugs the entire body (so it looks like a swimming suit) VS do not sell it online and it took the SF store 2 weeks to transfer mine from another store in Chicago. Apparently, itz been selling like HOT CAKES! I like VS but feel that Wacoal has a better quality. Have you gals checked out Wacoal? I agree that you have to try on things like that. Online purchases can be kinda of difficult

Sweets - me not slim lar.
sad.gif
Kinda of panicking as my PS is coming soon.

Oraia - I think I know your design. My mom's MTM cheongsam from Shanghai is of a similar design. VERI VERI nice....
happy.gif

HI Gals,

U all really love diamond...
happy.gif
and seems like hv lotz of knowledge of diamond qlty.... shld saw this before I got married...
sad.gif
.. now is too late to be here...:P

Hi everyone, I happened to stumble onto this website just 2 days ago. Didn't know it's so informative. I have been engaged almost 1 year and am planning to ROM this sep. Otherwise my mom won't allow me to go back to the UK with my fiance. He is English and working in Singapore now. Is ROM a big thing in Singapore? I am hoping to get away with the bare minimum!!

HI Pei Pei,

Emm... Me and my hubby js do our ROM and traditional customery on the same day.

Why yr mum want u both to ROM b4 u go UK together with yr fiance?

Hi Vin,

Think she is just being traditional, otherwise known as old-fashioned. The thing is, I am not quite sure if I want to ROM yet. I guess i kind of want to, but am a little scared. But I have a few friends who are ROMing this year too.
By the way, I am 25 this year.

HI Pei Pei,

Me and my hubby sign sign the marriage cert and do our traditional customery on the same day..

Why yr mum want u both to get ROm before you leave to UK with yr fiance?

What kind of rings do couples exchange when they exchange vows? Plain wedding bands, or perhaps more fanciful ones with diamonds? Hee hee, I prefer the latter...
happy.gif

Hi Canny,

Thanks for ur picture. Received it n u really have a nice diamond ring
happy.gif

Hi Oraia,

That is the type of cheongsam i looked for so long. Kindly recommend where u get it done? Thanks.

hi girls,

sweets/ canny~ hehe, thanks! yup, i haven't seen the material yet, so... well... i don't know if it'll turn out nice.
happy.gif

canny~ so wish i can go to shanghai for a cheongsam to be tailored too! if i do go nx time, i must rem to make a few to keep hehehehe.

hi pei~ welcome!
happy.gif

hi angeline,

perhaps u cld drop me a mail? or pm me? [email protected]

happy.gif

Hey Oraia,

Guess WAT! I think I lost a little bit of wt leh. My cheongsam is a good 5cm looser... how huh?! I am not sure if I should find a tailor to alter it or just wait till Dec and go to the original Shanghai tailor? Mannn... tough decision... if I dun alter it... it will not look fitted for my PS.
sad.gif

Canny, your corset sounds good! yah buying online cannot try a bit risky ah, but no choice.... Wacoal also got? cool cool will defnitely check it out.

Sweets, VS is very nice hor... Where do you get them normally?

Peipei, your situation similar to mine! haha... I also got to ROM before parents allow me to move to the uk with my fiance!! But i'm quite excited abt it lah... I love england!! Which part of england you moving to?

canny,

congrats gal! hehehe... if your cheong sum really looks loose i think you should alter else will not look sexy. then after that just need to watch food intake so will not gain weight again.

hhhm, maybe the corset i saw online was not the same as the one you bought but even the one i saw looks good! very smooth. singapore can't find such seamless corset.

leeds, how's massage?

Leeds,
Another brand to rec. Le Mystere. Supposedly veri good. I bought it from the mall today and compared it with the VS I got yesterday. I think I will keep the Le Mystere one as it is more comfy and the fit is better. Chck it out!

canny~ hmmm.... ur PS is in sept right? flying all the way to shanghai just to alter it seems abit OTT. i think if it's 5 cm, u can get it darted at the back to make it more fitted at a good tailor in us. are there chinese tailors there?

how about holding on -- mabbe in the meantime find out which tailor u can go to, and then bring it for alteration only in aug, so it'll fit perfectly for ur PS?

Hey Teatree,

I know... will not look sexy if too loose.
sad.gif
My fiance actually suggested cliping the cheongsam from the inside (so that the pics will not show the clips) and have the original tailor alter it when I go to shanghai in Dec. What do u think of this idea?

Canny, cheongsam definitely should be fitting, loose not nice already. Get it altered nearer to your PS, then make sure you keep to your weight till your AD.
happy.gif
I think for alteration, you can just get a tailor in the US? huh where to find Le Mystere? SG so boring ah, shopping so limited!

Teatree, the massage is good! i signed up for a package of 4 treatments, intend to go every 2wks. Its very good after a workout.
happy.gif

HI Canny,

My opinion is to alter yr cheongsam first.. Whens is yr wedding?? Do it only near yr wedding day. fr my case, I keep losing weight aft my MTM gown ready. I've collect my gown 2 days before my wedding day, guess wat, it loser again when I wear it on my wedding day.. it happens to all my eve. gown as well....

Gals,

Can ask is oval cut diamond generally cheaper than a round cut? Was ogling at diamonds at a jewellery store yesterday and notice there's a solitaire oval cut 0.5 carat ring for abt $2K, whereas a round cut cost $3K+. Why ah?

Hey Leeds,

I think oval is a bit less in general. Tiffany's ovals are about 5% lesser... according to my fiance.
happy.gif
I think round is a more popular cut... thus the demand and supply thing theory applies here lor.
happy.gif
u looking for an oval diamond?! Hehhee... join the oval lovers club!

Hey Vin,

WIll def. alter the cheongsam. But I dun live in SG and is not accessible to a good cheongsam tailor here.
sad.gif
So maybe will use the OLD MTHD of clipping from the back for my PS and alter it when I am in Shanghai this Dec. So sian hor...
sad.gif

canny,

clipping will cause the fabric to fold leh. won't look neat.

do you gain and lose weight easily? if not i think it's quite safe to alter now.

leeds, oval is cheaper than round because for round there is definitely more wastage when cutting the stone. i think....

Teatree,

YEah.. thzt true. But cannot find a good tailor so have to live with it lor.
happy.gif
Itz tough to find a good chinese tailor who knows how to alter cheongsam here. Plus, I am preety "A" with things like that.
sad.gif

Hi Teatree,

Agreed with u, cliping the cheongsam will cause the cheongsam fold.

During the PS, the photographer asst will help the bride and groom adjust all this when they see the fold...

HI Canny,

Hv u check with yr gown designer if they can help you to alter yr cheongsam or they hv anyone to introduce to you???

Canny, no lah I not looking for any specific diamond now. Dont think i can buy any at the mo...
sad.gif
Just ogling and researching lor. Can ask why do you prefer oval to round?
