Hi!

I am interested to migrate to australia too.

If we get PR first then we go there to find a job.. is it difficult?

And is Mel or Perth very racist?

TIA!!

Hi Honey_Pooh,

Is alright, just thinking that maybe your SIL is living somewhere in the South.

I have been here for 4 year and I am a SAHM with my boy.

Hi Yuan yang,

I find that the job market are pretty good now at least in Perth. As for racist, I find it still pretty alright. So far the people we met have been nice to us.

Hi!

JJ,

thank you for ur reply. = )

My husband is IT trained.. we have a lot of discussion on migration.. and might do it in a few yrs.

We are thinking how we can try to find a job first before going over? do u have any career website? is it better to apply for PR then look for a job there?

It must be very enjoyable for you to be in perth.. =)

My husband plans to have at least SGD70k of savings before we should try migration.. wat is ur view?

Hi yuan yang,

You can try www.seek.com.au or www.careerone.com.au for jobs opening in Australia.

It can be pretty hard to find a job while in Singapore unless you have got someone to pull strings for you? But some company might be ok to do phone interview first and maybe they are really interested then you can fly over for an interview.

As for the savings part, will hv to set aside for the fornightly rental, buying a car, petrol, food and necessities etc when u first arrive. So it really needs alot of planning before making the 1st move.

hi JJ, my bb is only 4 months. Yes, excited with the move but must really plan properly and carefully. Thanks for the 2 jobs website..

HOw abt you? How old is your boy?

My boy is 15 months now. I think it is good that you have a SIL in Perth so that she can at least advise you guys on the area to rent/buy etc

Are you a SAHM or working?

Hi JJ,
I am working in sin..so most probably will continue to work too...

Do you roughly know the property price for Perth now?? thanks.

Hi Honey_Pooh,

The property price has actually dropped which is a good time to buy. As for the price range, depending on the suburb you are going to buy/rent. You can check out www.realestate.com.au for properties on sales or for rental

Hi Beary,

Congrats on getting your PR. Are u migrating with your family? Actually the 1st entry is just to enter Australia to validate your visa so it can be just a holiday downunder.

I have previously posted 2 jobs website above, you can check out the job market there.

Good luck!

thinking to make the final move next year, so thought of using the 1st entry to scout for housing, jobs, area to stay in, open bank accounts, etc... but we're definitely not familiar with all these stuffs, so don't really know where to start...

I'll check out the job website that you posted... Thanks for the tips!

Hi Gurls
Am scouting around for migration agent to help me with my Skill Visa application. Was invited to 2 seminar (1. Agent located at Hong Lim Complex & another seminar (2. Agent located at Ganges Center).
(1) You know or have any experience with the agency am talking about, pls advise me which is good & which is bad (which provide good service with reasonable fees). I find the whole process of filling in the form, getting thru the assessment by the relevant authority & compiling all the required document a mountaineous task, if I do myself.
(2) Also do you all think my cousin who migrated there after she got married to an Australian can be classified under my application for Skilled Sponsored Migration (IF she is Not working. Yeah she is enjoying Life running after 4 kids in Melbourne) ^__^ Thank you in Advance.

Hi All,

My visa has been approved. Anyone going to Adelaide or currently stay in Adelaide? I will be going next year January. Still haven't got place to stay. Not sure if it will be easier to rent a room first than slowly look for apartment. Would appreciate if you all could give me advise.

TIA

hihi

I am currently in Perth, anyone moving over?I did my application myself but some occupation esp engineering can be very complicated.

I am trying to get my brother and sister in law to move over too so check out some migration agencies, try to look for those no visa and no fee type of agencies, they will only take ur case if they very certain that u will get it, they won't work for free, so far the 2 quotes I get is from 3.3k to 3.5k for their agency fee, which I think is quite reasonable esp if you doing family migration.

if u want the agency name, can pm me and I will give u the names.

my 5c worth

hi sylerion

thanks & have pm u

anyone can share a good agent name too?

my profession is finance/accounting. hubby is engineer but think i will be the main applicant as he dont hv much working experience. is this better to apply for us first (couple plus 1 kid) or also include our parents (if i want them to come over to take care of my baby for me?)

thanks !!!

can anyone advice on purchasing of house in perth??? What are procedures like? Anyone heard of Don russell?? They have a office in singapore..but not sure reliable or not..

happyjj

New Member
Hi Honey_pooh,

You can go and look at the website www.realestate.com.au and choose "WA" and then you will hv to select a suburb to view the houses on sales.

Once you saw something that you are interested, you can just email or contact the agent to arrange to view it etc.

If you were to purchase the house, you will hv to pay some deposit (which i can't remember how many percent, it might depends on the seller) and then take up a loan from the bank. You will need a settlement agent to do the job as well.

I am not too sure abt overseas investor though and have not heard of Don Russell before.

Sorry if my answer didn't really help in your queries. Maybe someone else in the forum can help to explain more in details as mine are just the basic points.

Hi.

can anyone advice what are the differences/benefits given by Aust when apply for skill migration visa 175 and 176 ?

Hi,

I did my own PR few years back and just did hubby's last June,it really depends on what your occupation is and years of experience, and what your assessment body for your occupation needs for the skill assessment.

Hi sylerion,

How should I start? Est. how much it cost you? For my case, it will be for the whole family, hubby, I and 2 kids. Any reason why you apply 1st then hubby?

Hee... I thought it was some shortcut to apply as individual 1st keke...

Btw, how long does it takes? 1-2 years?

I am still waiting for the agent to call me before exploring doing this myself.

hi MR, we also done the application ourselves...as more cost effective. Actually it is quite straight forward to fill in the forms(done by hubby..heehee!!).

We got our visa last July. Got it within 11months..actually could have got it less than 9months..delay as i was pregnant and thus delay my health checkup till i deliver..

Hi everyone,

I am a Singaporean who have been living in both Perth and other parts of Western Asutralia for the past 6 years. I have also been working with the state government as a social worker. I have been doing some casual freelance consultant work for Singaporeans who are looking to relocate to Perth or Western Australia. I am able to provide valuable information regarding Western Australia - from accommodation, real estate, suburbs to stay, lifestyle, australian culture, employment etc.

As I will be expecting my first child in September, I am looking to do this full-time in the coming year. I am happy to see clients one-to-one, over phone or email depending on your preference and location.

I charge a reasonable flat fee for my consultancy work.

Please email me on [email protected] if anyone is interested. Thanks!
