I did not bring along my wedding shoes while trying the gown. Of cos i alteration to be done on my selected gown. My next appt will be in jul, one of the weekday for trial make up and the other weekday will be photoshooting. Have you paid for the second payment? We paid our second payment suring our gown selection.

Ooshie > Amazing!! You have created a table to input every informations for the chatters here... Kekeke... My ROM date is on the 24 Sept 2005. Venue will be at Furama Riverfront Hotel and my wedding theme... Dunno yet... also dunno how to choose a theme... that one guess I have to ask the brides here for help. Oh yes, they are giving me additional one room (overnight) for helpers and free corkage for red wine & hard liqour.

Tim > Finally you had settle down for Hilton. Who is your coordinator? Is it June Wee? How is the ballroom? Before I can visit Hilton, my FH already said he wanted Meritus Mandarin... so heheeheheh..!! No chance to racky..

Chaiyo > It is normal... my FH parents wanna come over to my home during CNY but my mother reaction is " NO NEED LAH, nothing to see and nothing to talk... moreover our house so small.." I also ponder myself quite a few times why is she reacting this way... my FH told me that my parents are shy.

Btw, usually for our parents, do we take dowry or the tables?? Keep on asking my mother what she wants and she said she dunno.

CNY is on 29th and 30th of Jan 06. 29th is a Sunday so the following Monday 31st Jan is a public holiday too.

Oh I didnt confirm date with shifu..just chose one that was on weekend and thru websites which mention that it was suitable for marriage.

I had some other dates in mind but then all were on weekdays so we just went for oct 8.

Oh... cos currently there is a lot of confusions here... dunno if my mother wants dowry or tables... she simply cannot make up her mind and she just follows what people says... Hiaz... I even help her to count the no. of tables she required and ask her what else she wants, she simply says too early too early.

I meeting them again in may to select my gown. Thinking of bring my wedding shoe along but I haven't bought any yet.

They want me to make payment earlier on but I refuse since I have not select any gown that time. But we have make a second payment when I went down to book my MUA. In total I have paid them $1500. How about you?

Hi Lilac, I went to a few, visited Merchant Court,Meritus Mandarin,Marina Mandarin and Raffles the plaza and Pan Pacific.

Merchant court has a nice ambience,rather exclusive as they have only one ballroom which means that when you hold your wedding, you'll be the only couple there. But downside was that many relatives esp the elder ones will not know abt this hotel, my cousin (who is just 2 years older said Huh? where is that?)....

As for Mandarin, I didnt like the pillars and I found the decor quite plain.Although its a fave among the elders but its my big day right haha!

Marina, we had a close fren who just had his wedding held there last dec so decided not to go with Marina..

RTP..the ballrooms are nice and decor beautiful but my FH tot it was noisy since the shopping mall was just downstairs. And the ballrooms are nearly side by side, if we went with it, there may be another wedding just beside ours! very confusing for our guests.

So finally, last sunday we attended the wedding show at PP, decided and signed with PP, there are 2 ballrooms, ours is the smaller one. And PP just underwent renov so it looks pretty good. Hee..sorry for being so longwinded!!

There are more wedding shows coming, have you chosen your venue? You may want to attend, i think its an eye opener,the models parade in gowns, very beautiful

For me i wouldn't buy a 2nd hand shoe for my wedding. Maybe for PS is OK but not for WD. cos during your wedding, you are suppose to wear the shoe the whole day as you can't take it out. since gonna wear the shoe for the whole day, it'll be better that you get a brand new shoe. For me, i will get a shoe less than $100. For my PS, i will wear my ROM shoe lor.

Went to a few bridal shops. Must say, The Wedding Present has exquisite and lovely gowns. Allure Charix has georgeous and affordable off-the-racks and Santiago has some comprehensive wedding package (but there are mixed reviews about Santiago).

Now I'm torn... ala-carte or package? Any ideas?

Hi Lilac, where is GWP? Ooh, I forgot to say I also went to Hyatt.There are alot of rooms to hold wedding at Hyatt you know, same thing, ppl may go wrong room haha..but most importantly, its quite ex right? But they have nice themes for weddings, I heard the latest one is the Black theme?

Yup PP reno over, initially my FH's reaction when I mentioned let's go for the wedding show at PP, then he was like..huh..PP very lok cok..then apparently he was rather surprised with the reno changes. We went to see the bridal suite too, its nicely done.

I didnt get any special package, but got slightly more perks coz we signed up during the wedding show. My advice is when you've decided on which hotel to take, attend the wedding show and then sign there so you won't miss out on certain perks that they throw in.

The perks for PP exclusive on that day were:
1)a complimentary table for every 25 tables
2)Photo Montage
3)Waiver of corkage for 1 bottle of wine per guaranteed table.

Seriously I dun think its much, but at least better than nothing haha..last time when I looked at MC's, its more or less like this too. But I guess it is great for PP to offer the perks as they are quite known for being niao..
