icebubbles · Apr 1, 2005

i will also be a june 06 bride =)
been looking around these few weeks for the banquets. so tiring..
havent really decide on where to book.
need around 40 tables on weekend...
parents wan nice food, we want nice ballrooms, and of course must also be affordable too.
tomorrow going ballroom visiting again for the whole day.
hope i can find one to fit soon.

icebubbles · Apr 1, 2005

btw, how did all of u choose ur wedding dates?
from shifus with both of your birth dates?

ooshie · Apr 1, 2005

hi icebubbles,
nice food i not very sure but you can try a few for nice ballroom i think you meet the minimum for weekend tables so should be quite easy onyl see your budget now lor
fullerton ( walking down ballrom)
grand hyatt (pillars)
shang (ex!)
ritz (ex!)
Grand waterfront corpthorne
swissotel
marriot
pan pac (pacific ballrom)
meritus marina
conrad
hilton

as for the dates, i think just choose roughly and consult the shifu or you can just ask the shifu directly and he will give a set of dates lor you can check out the few websites
http://mindcity.sina.com/MC-lunar/search/search_gif.html
this is one of the more accurate one (according to the gals from the other threads)
hope it helps! how about your BS shopping?

zenith · Apr 2, 2005

hi ooshie!

how did u create the table???!!! cool!!! i've been waiting to be added in the table! haha! make me even more excited! my bs is Kai. Venue tentatively is Little Bali. Maybe u can add a wedding theme column? my theme is Balinese.

one bad news.... my FH's mum said that June is not a good mth to get married so maybe i've to push forward my wedding or postpone my wedding. but can i still stay in this thread? get used to here liao leh.

ooshie · Apr 2, 2005

Hi Zen!
it took me a while to try to create the table went to 'help' and look for instructions in 'formatting' hehe
i'm considering Little Bali for my ROM havent found a place yet not too sure of the fusion cuisine that they serving but have been there and the ambience is very chill out and nice any suggestions for outdoor ROM?
why June no good? i only noe that next yr's 7th month is 2 months and much longer than our normal 7th month hence cant hold wedding from end of July to nearly end of Sep
doesnt matter lah .... we can still help each other out with our preparations

i also crash other threads sometimes

Ooshie...

Looks great! Thanks for creating it...so easy to reference now. =)

timminbuzz · Apr 2, 2005

Icebubbles...

I chose the date cos i've got to start taking leave b4 school hols end and my friends frm Melbourne will only be down on 23rd. So 24th is the only date left for me...

timminbuzz · Apr 2, 2005

Hi everyone...

Noticed that a number of you have already decided on your BS. Wanted to know how are you finding them? Happy with the BS?

I'm thinking of having a bustier and lace at the bodice. Dutchess satin. Anyone know which BS would b able to do a gd job and yet affordable?

Thanks gals

dapipi · Apr 2, 2005

Hi Marilyn,
I have already book my banquet and BS... Signed up with Bridal Zone and banquet will be at Furama Hotel...I din noe can bagrain, just signed up with them last year... tot it was good to book early... Who did u decide on your photographer? Choose to do it in JB can save a lot of $$$... but i find it a bit troublesome to go in and out of Singapore... furthermore, i also not familiar with the BS in malaysia....

icebubbles · Apr 2, 2005

i havent choose any bs yet...
just started to look around at hotels.
seems a bit too late..
the date i wanted, already got booked for a few hotels...
and i tot june was still far far away
looks like i am the onli one who nv settle anything yet.
i got to hurry

ooshie · Apr 3, 2005

hi Tim,
i narrowed down a few from the magazines and the forums' reviews then went down to the BS to see see look look. fell in love immediately with The WEdding Present .FH also like . You can go try and see lor
the few that i has narrowed down

amanda lee
divine couture
yvonne
sillhoutte
kai

i think they all got very good workmanship and designs you just tell them your ideas and most likely they can do anything for you .

hi icebubbleS!
you chose your date already? not late lah ... but just nice to start sourcing and getting what you want ... dun worry im sure there are women who dun even noe they are getting married .... we noe way well in advance

jozy · Apr 3, 2005

Gin09, are you stil around here?
I need to find out from you about Dang. Did you meet up with Dang on your first visit to the store? How was the meeting?

I'm intending to pay them a visit this sat, but yet to make appointment.

marilyntay · Apr 3, 2005

Hi Marnie,
I have not thought of the wedding favour yet. May look at the restaurant's favour first. Saw the customised chocolate in yahoo auction, quite like it. May consider that too.

Hi Ade,
Try and see if you can ask for more peak when you meet the manager. No harm trying... My photographer is Gabriel. I will save about $2k for going to JB. My FH lives in woodlands, so quite convenient for us lor.

dapipi · Apr 3, 2005

Hi Marilyn,
I have the number for the shop that sells chocolates in very unique packaging... Very suitable for wedding flavour... i may also consider getting that for my door gift for my wedding ceremony... Gabriel is from which company?

marilyntay · Apr 4, 2005

Hi Ade,
Can give me the contact for the choclate just in case I need it? Thanks in advance. Gabriel is from Gabri*l M*nd*s. (Replace * with e.)

marnie · Apr 4, 2005

Hi girls,

LURVE chocolates! Was considering to make the chocolates for favours (saves a lot of money DIY) but decided against it cos' it will be too rushed for me! And plus, maybe the chocolates will not make past my mouth in the kitchen! *hahahahah*

Can save S$2K for bridal save is a lot - good for you Marilyn! It's such a hassle for me to go in and out of Singapore so have decided to just stick with the malay bridal shop (I was bargaining like mad!)

racherlle · Apr 4, 2005

hi ayane!

hehehe yup it's ok

juz wanted 14th May only..
can't wait!

which BS have u chosen???
i'm looking at Flamingo..

chaiyo · Apr 4, 2005

Hi icebubbles! U r finally here! How i choose my date is becos 25th june is my anniversary date. Make tis day more meaningful for us lor. Wah! Which hotel ald booked for june 2006 liao? I went to a few hotels to see the ballrm n they 'claimed' tat june 06 not much booking yet leh ... Aiyo .. making me kinda panic liao *grin*

akoyo · Apr 4, 2005

Hi Racherlle,
Have not been to Marriot.. Heard that they have good luncheon packages to offer. Must go check that out.
Right now, tsukushi, same day ! Me planning on 7 may as well.. But we just realised that it will be during exam period.. I wonder if my cousins can attend...

gini09 · Apr 4, 2005

I've just signed up for Golden Horse Awards for my bridal package at the Her World Wedding show and am in midst of deciding venue for banquet. Am also looking out for my shoes (got to get a really high one cos my fiance is 180cm and I'm 150)

Glad to join the forum.

Hi Ooshie,

My dad also told my FFIL that I dono how to do housewk, then my FFIL say his daugther also the same. Both laugh off saying they spoil their child. Both side parents like talk of every other topic but come to talking abt the ping li never really state the exact or correct thing they want. Especially my mum. In front of me say want this want that then sit with my FH parents never really say much abt ping li.

dolphin48 · Apr 5, 2005

HI SK2 and pimply

Just a qn. Why is everyone asking this particular JP David Loh for the ROM?

Also, do we need to book him now for ROM in Nov? I thought it's 3 months notice? Sorry but i'm blur with ROM procedures.....

hinds_feet · Apr 5, 2005

Hi greekgal, welcome to join us!
My fiance was saying that every lunar month only has about 26 days. So in order to make up for the lesser days to "catch up" with the "ang moh" calendar, every 3 years, there will be a repeat of a particular lunar month. Next year's happen to be 7th month.
There are people who say during 7th month, can't renovate house. But I think i will just go ahead with it. Hoping to get married end Sept. But i think it will be super peak period. Since hotels businesses may be quiet during 7th month, it gives them more reason to jerk up after that. Gosh... Maybe if you all don't mind, can book dinner at non-hotel venue.
Anyway, looks like I will do away with banquet. Just have church wedding & reception :0)

My colleague says that it's good to get married in Oct, after the Sept NATAs fair. Maybe can get good deals for honeymoon! She got air tickets to Europe for only $800+. Cool!

sk2 · Apr 5, 2005

Daphne,
some of us is conincident in having him some is thru refer from this forum.. i got him bcos of my fren. book him b4 i got into this forum. he is one of the top jp, so has to book him in advance. as for filing of doc is 3 mths b4, nothing to do with booking him advance.

dolphin48 · Apr 5, 2005

SK2: i see......but what's the difference between him and the others? Looks like he's very popular from the comments in forum....

sk2 · Apr 5, 2005

heheheh... actually i dun knw.. but i seen a few jp, they are very serious and jus do the job and go.. but for him, i heard he will organize the day for u and very entertaining... so far all positive comments...

dolphin48 · Apr 5, 2005

ok, i will request for him too.....hehehe.....
