The $10K tax rebate is given after your payable tax amount: -
Eg : This year, by calculation, u need to pay $300 tax to IRAS but due to the $10K parenthood tax rebate, it will become a negative (-$9700) and it an accumulated figure for number of years until u fully utilise the $10K . So basically for many years u need not pay any income tax

<font color="ff0000">'Parenthood Tax Rebate' (PTR)</font> is a one-off rebate given to encourage couples to have more children by providing them with financial support for bringing up their children.
PTR replaces Special Tax Rebate (STR) from Year of Assessment 2005 onwards.
<font color="ff0000">How PTR works</font>
This rebate may be used to offset your and/or your spouse' income tax, based on the apportionment agreed between the two of you.
Any unutilised rebate will be used to offset the income tax payable for subsequent years, until the rebate is fully utilised.
You do not need to claim this rebate if you had already done so in the past.

Watch carefully for the following signs of respiratory distress in your baby:

• Sucking in of the skin between the ribs, above the collarbone, or below the rib cage
• Grunting, or tightening abdominal muscles when breathing
• Wheezing making a high-pitched whistling sound when exhaling
• Coughing
• Poor feeding -- a baby who feeds vigorously is not having too much difficulty breathing
• Blue lips and fingernails
• Breathing faster than 60 breaths per minute
If your baby exhibits any of these signs, call your doctor immediately.
