Hi all! I've actually been a silent reader of this forum for quite some time, especially when I was planning my own wedding haha. Never thought I would actually write a post here, but I really felt compelled to share our experience with our solemniser, Mr Surein Sandrasageran, because he did such a fantastic job and made our wedding day even more memorable.

There are so many things to worry about when planning a wedding, and honestly, choosing a solemniser was one of those things I didn't realise could make such a big difference.

We came across Mr Surein and learnt that he's one of the younger solemnisers in Singapore. Apparently he's quite popular with younger couples too, and after meeting him, I can totally understand why!

What really stood out was how genuine and approachable he was. He actually took time out of his schedule to meet us before the wedding, listened to our story and got to know us as a couple. He was also very patient in guiding us through the whole solemnisation process. We had quite a few questions and some requests on how we wanted things done, but he was really accommodating and never made us feel like we were troubling him. For example, he even asked my hubby what colour his suit was so that his outfit wouldn't clash with his, and that my hubby could stand out! It's small gestures like this that made us feel he genuinely wanted the day to be special for us.

On the actual day, he was truly amazing! Very warm, sincere and had just the right amount of humour. Nothing too formal or awkward. The ceremony felt very personal and, most importantly, it was about us. Even our parents and relatives were impressed! Quite a few of our friends came up to us afterwards asking who our solemniser was. One even said she wished she had engaged him for her own wedding haha. Our emcee also said he was one of the best he has seen.

Looking back, I think what I appreciated most was that he didn't make the ceremony about himself. We've attended quite a few weddings where the solemniser just goes on and on, sometimes for more than 30 minutes, talking about everything except the couple. I've also read a post here about a solemniser doing 4 or 5 weddings in a day and rushing from one venue to another. Of course, not everyone is like that, but we really wanted someone who would give our ceremony that personal touch rather than make it feel like just another appointment. You could really sense that Mr Surein genuinely enjoys what he does. It's quite rare to find someone who can be professional yet so personable at the same time.

Anyway, just wanted to share this for all the BTBs who are still searching for a solemniser. If you're looking for someone younger, easy to communicate with and who will actually take the time to understand your story, do consider Mr Surein Sandrasageran.

Really one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!
