Park Green

eh... i thought some residents got together to lodge complaints against the main con few months back? so what has happened so far?

btw, does anyone know why they are digging up the estate perimeter? and what are they going to do to the ever leaking water flowing into the car park entrance?....

This morning, a young couple walked between the 2 entrance barriers when my car approached.
The barrier almost hit one of their face when it went up!!!
My heart lost a beat....phew
I had a friend who walked between such barriers in a private carpark and got hit on the jaw by the upgoing barrier when a car approached from behind! Had several stitches and a bad bruise.
There used to be a upright pole between the barrier, but it is now missing. Sigh.......
 
Kyosho, thats so dangerous...and we are one of those couples who walk out in the morning thru the 2 barriers! What they need to do is have a seperate side gate for pedestrians..Or at least smoothen the zebra crossing - impossible to walk properly & not get your heels wedged inside the gaps...more bad designing!
 
Maybe it's better to open a side gate near the substation, for residents who's coming in/going out of the estate on foot. I think it'd definitely beat having to run the risk of getting knocked down by the barriers, if not cars!

Hi Ryue, I think the digging up the estate perimeter is for the road expansion, seem likely the case from what I look at it. Let c if that is the case.
 
The center pole in between the 2 barrier has been moved inside the guard house, most probably it make cars from the visitor barrier difficult to turn into the carpark.

I myself do cross in btw the barriers, agree it is very dangerous, but thought the proper way to enter/exit is by zebra crossing drawn near the exit barrier? But that area seems a bit narrow for residents to walk past easily

The digging of the estate perimeter seems to be due to shifting of the drainage system, but i think it is not done by Tiong Seng or NTUC.
 
Inorder to have the road expansion, 1st they need to shift the drainage in. I doubt they will shift the drainage w/o any purpose. Believe 2 lane straight and 1 lane turning. LTA - Road expansion & traffic light. PUB - Lamp Post relocation. Let c my predicion/assumption is correct.
 
Did the notice mentioned when are they going to finish the road works? if i m correct, they have been digging for more than two months.. even on late saturday afternoon.. very noisy and dusty.

I read from last week Today newspaper forum that the secondary opposite Park Green, North Vista Secondary School is actually formerly know as Upper Thomson Secondary School and they are celebrating 40 years anniversary next year.
 
The nearest primary school near our place is Seng Kang Primary.
The popular primary in SK estate is Nan Chiau and Rivervale primary.

Hi All

Did anyone get a call from Tiong Seng to arrange for the replacement of hot water pipes? How come the pipes need to be replaced? Are they defective? After just less than 1 year? Why don't they replace the tiles for the MBR as well?

I also received call from Tiong Seng saying that they want to arrange time to change the water pipes and i am from block 6.
 
Have anyone encounter sudden low water pressure at the master bathroom ? I complained this to the contractor and they told me they will need to flush the riser.

Then I will think that Nan Chiau and Rivervale will fit into the 'good primary school' category. It is only last year PSLE, the top student is from Seng Kang primary.

don't worry so much. U made the right choice to put your son in MJS as it'll be a first step to grooming him into a true montfortian. The parental support group is very active. My son would be in P2 next year and I'm very happy with what the school had done so far.

My friend couldnt get any schools around her place and eventually just got into one that has vacancy. So far no complains cos at least her daughter is doing well and she's happy even though its not her first choice.
 
Can anyone help? My water heater is dead. The water tap when turned to the "hot" direction has water flowing out weakly and there is no hot water. Checked the heater unit - no burning gas or reading on the meter. it looks like there is no power supply to the water heater. Anyone with the same problem?
 
I had the same problem. Think there is algae in the water pipe. You will need to get the contractor to flush or clean the water pipe for you.
 
I took out the pipe filter. There was algae sealing up the filter. After cleaning the filter, the heater unit is functioning again.
 
Hi all, a belated Merry Xmas & Happy New Year!
Just wanted to ask if it is quite common to see Park Greeners at the carpark getting their own key to open the taps & collect water to wash their cars?

Does any one have any contacts for aircon servicing? I've checked out on Daikin but I think they charge pretty steep. But maybe we can all come together to approach Daikin as a group? Anyone keen?

I appointed a private air-con services company, they charge $30 per unit. Recently, got him to service my office and house a/c. Though, I am on the 16th level, air-con quite dirty leh, maybe frequent usage. Damn Seng Kang is warm.

His number is 94870301. Dunno his name leh. You get those Daikin, reputable company sure slightly expensive. Cos servicing quite standard 1... clean the net, remove any dust in and outside the unit, then pour liquid into the unit then one guy will use a vaccum cleaner to suck out the liquid from the generator. This will suck most of the dust inside the unit.

Thanks for your info. I was introduced one who charges $320 for 4 quarterly servicings of 5 units. I was told they installed the units at Park Green...don't know true or not. Ya... Daikin very very expensive, even the customer service person said so.... but very very professional in explaining their charges.
 
Btw, with all the rain, how bad is your mould situation? Went away for a week and came back to find that even our bedspread smelled funky

Mould is also growing on parts of the toilet/room doors that they didn't lacquer well! Yucks!! The humidity here is extra bad....

Any recommendations of what to do? We have been using only vinegar to wipe off the mould (so as not to strip paint off surfaces) and lysol to spray on fabrics. Stuff like "Thirsty hippo" doesnt really work

my bedrooms floor wooden panelling seems to be jutting out, can feel the sharp edges. Anyone encounter the same problem?

Believe all owners will have the same problem unless one can have a huge dehumidifer at home.

Wooden timber buckling is likely due to the recent prolong high humid weather causing the wooden strip to expand.

By the way, had anyone report to the developer concerning mould stains on the timber floor especially for units with the balcony in the master bedroom ?

hi all,

I am staying in Blk 2, mid level, facing Punggol Park. Have been experiencing a lot of mosquitoes in our house of late. My legs have been bitten all over and my 15th mth boy has also been bitten everywhere.

Has anyone experienced the same problem? Am worried cos we've taken a lot of preventive measures (mosquito coil, repellent etc.) but have not been able to solve the problem. We dun even know where the problem is coming from; we dun have any plants in our house.
