Dear BTBs of NCQ, I went down to NCQ yesterday and now this hotel is top of my list

I only managed to take a look at the Phoenix ballroom and it’s really nice, pillarless, spacious.. how is the cinnamon ballroom like? Is it also pillarless?

The Cinnamon Ballroom is almost pillarless also, save for a tiny one located at the right hand side of the ballroom when u enter from main entrance. Hardly noticeable also. View will not be blocked if it's 21 tables or lesser. Above that maybe 1 table's view of the stage will be blocked from what I see.

This weekend they are having a promotional special, why not go down and sign up with them? They have added some more perks which me and some of the BTBs here didn't get

The fish is Rock Garoupa, the only one i not pleased with.

The fried garlic dont taste like garlic. haa...

Hi people, NCQ is one of our shortlisted banquet venue, we will be meeting Huiling tmr and we jus like to find out what the type of qs we need to bring up before we sign the package with them?

u are just in time for their wedding show promotion, it's from today to tml, 12pm to 6pm but limited to first 50 couples only with a min booking of 20 tables...click below to see the perks they are giving

very good deal imho, u can't get these normally. we didn't get it cos we signed up earlier...

on top of these free perks, try to neg for:

1. carpark (think they giving 20% only for next yr)
2. foc food tasting
3. one bottle of wine per confirmed table
4. upgrade to bridal suite
5. any penalty charges if need to transfer package due to unforseen circumstances
6. special rates if need additional rooms

that's abt all I can think of now, maybe the rest can advise?
 
you can try increase no of cards given, free usage of helpers room (so far none of us get it..hehe)
free flow beer? not sure now have or not...
 
What's imho? Hehe. Thanks both, yah really tempting to sign up. But the date we haven't cfm, may fall after apr 2009, do you think we can negotiate to a later date.

Hi Cheer, yup yup, actually is either Nx Jan -Feb or July. We haven fix up a date yet. For us, i guess we mus take the bigger ball room thats the phoneix right? ...

Sigh so sianz, first step of planning the banquet got obstacles liao. FH jus called up to FIL and asked how many tables he need and the date of marriage he has been asking someone to check for us, cos we planning to book with this week or next mah. This turn into a heated argument between father and son. Cos my FIL ask FH to not stress him. And got angry and said not to invite anyone.. Sianz.
 
jiajoey: fix up ur AD date first then go NCQ and confirm again. No AD date u can't get anything done, to be honest. How many tables u looking at? anything above 28 (if I rem correctly), u will have to take the Phoenix Grand ballroom.

imho = in my honest/humble opinion

michelle: if sign up with them today during their road show, will have $1000 cash back, free helpers room and free flow beer

rand: those who booked dinner got the $50 off per table, mine dun have cos lunch.

Yup, agree with u, if u have more than 20 tables like 'bo hua' liao cos $50 x 20 tables = $1000 off, but if u got more than 20 tables, u still get $1000 off as for now but will get more disc off if based on the previous promotion.

hey guys,

i'm a new NCQ BTB.. signed up at the last hour of the wedding show!

actually the promotion for cash rebate is either $1000 off + free flow beer or $50 off per table and get an additional barrel of beer (which makes 2 in total). we chose the latter coz it's more worth due to the large number of tables we are getting.

Hi people.

I am an ex bride of Novotel. Had finished my wedding in late Dec 08.

See that there's quite a few comment on the fish served.

Just note that rock garoupa is not nice when steamed. Meat is tough. It's best fried. For me, I asked for fried garoupa in Hong Kong style. It turned out very nice during the wedding.

The manager of the restaurant suggested to us not to change to soon hock because it's smaller in size. Looks funny to present 2 fishes on a plate. Moreover fishes would be killed in the morning so it would not be fresh like wat you had in the restaurant cos they kill it only when you place an order. So fishes would not be fresh too.
