Hi Master Tong,

I would like to seek advice on our wedding date in 2011.

Groom: Dog (1982)
Groom's Parents: Monkey (1956) and Pig (1959)

Bride: Dog (1982)
Bride's Parents: Snake (1953) and Goat (1955)

We would like to hold our customary and ROM on 19/11/2011. If it is a bad date according to Tong Shu, would there be any chance that it is suitable for us using bazi calculations?

Also, can I ask what are the good dates to get married (preferbly weekends) between Nov 2011 to Jan 2012 for our zodiacs?

Hi Hopeful,

3rd Oct will be good for An Chuang (not Guo Da Li).

For Guo Da Li, 6th Oct will be better. No good weekends date in Oct before your wedding.

30h Oct 2011 clash Rat, hence cannot use.

As much as i want to help you in the area of general good dates for year 2012, the Tong Shu for 2012 is not out yet, so i will not know or be able to select general Tong Shu auspicious date for wedding for 2012 yet. Right now, the only way and also the right and accurate way of doing it will be using Bazi to select dates. FYI, a date reflected auspicious in the Tong Shu may still be bad for both of you if the date chosen is not compatible wtih both your Bazi.

As for Bazi wedding dates selection, it is part of my consultation service to my clients, hence i can't provide it here free in the forum or it will be unfair to my clients who paid for my service. Hope you understand.

If you have any particular date in mind, just post it here. I can advise you if it is a bad day as there are some days that are definitely bad and cannot be used for marriage; and some days that will clash to either of you or your parents, so cannot be used as well.

Btw, you are born Dog yr, hence 2012 Dragon yr will be a bad yr for you to hold wedding.

That date clash to Monkey, hence cannot use.

For weekends , here are some general dates:

- 12/11/2011, 20/11/2011, 07/01/2012

Hi yunzie,

The An Chuang that you are doing is part of chinese wedding customs. There is no point doing it anymore after wedding. In your scenario, most people still do it using the groom's bed.

- 07/05, 05/06, 12/06, 18/06

These are the only dates available. Rest clashes to you/your parents.

Hi Zenn,

this is just our Chinese customary wedding process. Normally i would say 95% of all my clients will do these.

Guo Da Li is for the groom to show to the bride's parents after the marriage, he got money to take care of the bride (hence giving all the gifts).

For An Chuang, it is to bless the couple with lots of kids in the future.

brian: i am a rooster as well.. Rabbit 2011 Lunar Year is a bad year for rooster to get married.. If you open up the Tong shu, everyday in lunar 2011 year will be a "xiong" bad day for rooster... it has been mentioned by David several times already. you can scroll up to see the posts..

You can either look at marriage in 2012 year. Or if you can in Tiger 2010 - 2011 Tiger Lunar Year... if you are looking at 2012 dates, the only way David can do is calculate using your bazi.. He charges for that (just $100 along with other freebies included), and hence it can't be done for free..

Anyway, that's how i managed to book my wedding dinner more than 1 year in advance.

Also if switch on the wedding lamp during the wedding morning before fetching the bride then can switch off after fetching the bride when both groom n bride enter the nuptial together?

Btw, many hotels for 2011 weekend dates are already full and very hard to book now. Most people are already choosing for 2012 dates as this is the best time to do so since most hotel haven't open the dates yet and will do so soon in 1-2 months time (i believe).

When the groom goes to fetch the bride, all the friends, relatives etc that are born in the year of the Monkey will have to "hide" in the room or kitchen. They cannot see the groom before he step into the house. Once he step in, they can come out. The belief is that if they see each other, the relationship between them won't be good next time. Same procedure when the bride goes back to groom's home. "Xiong Di" and "Jie Mei" should not be those animal signs as well, so is the little boy that open the car door for the groom when he reaches brides home as well as the little boy that “jump†bed during An Chuang.

For the wedding lamp, it will be switched on after tea ceremony (either at groom's home or new home, depending on where the bed is) and left switched on whole night till next day when you go back from hotel stay,then you off it
