Hi Master Tong,

Can you help me to pick a few auspicious date for my wedding between oct 2010 and april 2011?


Our zodiacs are

Groom: Horse (July 1978)
Bride: Goat (Feb 1980)

Groom's Dad : Dragon (Jan 1953)
Groom's Mum : Monkey (June 1956)

Bride's Dad : Dragon (Feb 1953)
Bride's Mum : Monkey (Dec 1956)

Hi Master Tong,

Understand the tong shu for the following dates may not be out yet, however can you help to check if the dates will not clash with our zodiacs?

Dates: 20 Nov 11, 27 Nov 11, 12 Feb 12

Groom: Goat
Groom's Mum: Rabbit

Bride: Rat
Bride's Mum: Snake
Bride's Dad: Dragon

Hi Vivian,

Normally we just take an estimate of 4 months, hence till 11th Oct 2010 (no need to count day by day!). If you do it this way, it is still within 4 months

BUT it is really up to your comfort level and your parents. Like what i said, many practice 3 months..and there is no "strict" rules for this as this is more of a chinese superstition.

You can use 12th Sept for Guo Da Li (9am-11am), 3rd Oct (9am-11am) for An Chuang.

Seldom people do ti qing now..if you want, let me know roughly when you want to do it (up to your parents preference,,normally before guo da li).

Hi Lynn Yeo,

I can only give you 2010 dates now as the tong shu for 2011 is not out yet. Right now, the only way to select 2011 dates will be using Bazi to select, but i do charge for this as it is part of my consultation services.

2010 general tong shu dates for wedding:

- 11/10, 20/10, 23/10, 04/11, 13/11, 14/11, 17/11, 25/11, 01/12, 08/12, 20/12, 01/01, 06/01, 14/01, 18/01, 30/01

Note that both your bazi is not taken into consideration yet and a good date listed in the tong shu can still turn out to be bad for you if the date and your bazi is not compatible.

Hi KS,

As much as i want to help you in the area of general good dates for year 2011, the Tong Shu for 2011 is not out yet, so i will not know or be able to select general Tong Shu auspicious date for wedding for 2011 yet. Right now, the only way and also the right and accurate way of doing it will be using Bazi to select dates. FYI, a date reflected auspicious in the Tong Shu may still be bad for both of you if the date chosen is not compatible wtih both your Bazi.

As for Bazi wedding dates selection, it is part of my consultation service to my clients, hence i can't provide it here free in the forum or it will be unfair to my clients who paid for my service. Hope you understand.

If you have any particular date in mind, just post it here. I can advise you if it is a bad day as there are some days that are definitely bad and cannot be used for marriage; and some days that will clash to either of you or your parents, so cannot be used as well.

Hi Fu En'En Enon,

April is Qing Ming, hence whole month is out..

Only 7/5, 28/5 does not clash to anyone.

This is not an auspicious date yet, only that the dates doesn't clash.

Thanks Master Tong. Can you suggest dates for Ti Qing preferably on Sunday in April and May 2010? So the 3 months gap is actually for English month and not Chinese Lunar Calendar? Is it after An Chuang, no one else is allow to sleep on the bed untill customary is over for the groom and bride? Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Master Tong,

Would appreciate your advice on some fengshui issues for my new home.

I will be moving into my bf's family home (it is a 3 storey terrace), and we will be renovating the 3rd floor to be our own space.

1. Is it ok to have the bedhead sharing the same wall as the toilet wall? This toilet wall is empty, only has hangers for the towels. The toilet bowl and sink is on the opposite wall.
2. Our designer suggested moving the bedroom door to allow a smoother flow of the room's new design. However, this will make my bedroom door directly in front of the staircase that leads up to the 3rd floor...is this ok?
I heard that it is not good to have a door facing the staircase, but since this is not the main door, is it ok then?

Looking forward to hearing your advice! Much thanks in advance!

Is 22 Oct 2010 a general good date for marriage? Both my husband and myself are born in the year of Monkey. Our family members consist of animal signs : Dog, Cow and Rabbit ( both sides of the family have exactly the same animal signs).

Apr is Qing Ming, hence normally we don't do it during this period.

Here are the May dates (after 3rd lunar mth):

- 15/05, 23/05, 27/05

Yes, when the new bed reach your home, you cannot sleep on it till your AD day,irregardless whether if you have already done the An Chuang.

There is no formal specification whether the 3 mths gap is following what sort of calendar. Remember this is just a superstition, not feng shui.

yes that is correct Those are not general good dates.

Only 10 Sept 2010 is a general tong shu good date for wedding (note that Bazi is not taken into consideration yet and if the date and bazi is not compatible, it is still considered an inauspicious date).

>>> Yes this is ok, so long as the Qi in the room is compatible with the bed location and direction within the room. But you can't do this yourself. You need a Master well versed in San Yuan Feng Shui (not the crystal selling types!) to determine this for you.

>>> Generally this is not good as your don't want the door opens directly to a staircase. Not good for the person staying in the room, esp the wealth aspects.

>>> Main door will be worse and it affects everyone in the house. Room door will only affect the person staying in the room. Hence if the roomis empty, it is ok. Else if someone is staying inside, avoid doing so.

Hi KS,

I can't advise 2011 general tong shu dates as the tong shu is not out. It will only be out in July/Aug period. The only way to select now is using Bazi.

13 March 2011 & 12 June 2011 do not clash to anyone.

However, as mentioned in previous threads, I cannot determine the tong shu general good day now as it is not out yet, Will only be out in July/Aug. I can only help you check if the date will clash with your.

Right now, the only way and authentic way to do it willbe using Bazi to select. A good date in the tong shu can still be considered inauspicious if the date and bazi is not compatible. And by the time the tong shu is out, most of the hotels for 2011 weekends will be almost fully booked...

normally how early is the Guo Da Li done before the Actual Day? Is it true that only after Guo Da Li den can distribute out the invitation cards?

As we are Having difficulties in finding another available date with the hotel, may I ask if there can be anything done to minimize the clash with tiger or what should we take note of on that day? For your info, I asked about 29-05-2011 and you said it clashes with tiger. Thanks. Really appreciate ur help. We are so lost.

Hi Josky,

Normally GDL is about 2 weeks to 1 month before the AD date. However, sometimes some parents may like to do it 2 mths before. There is no fixed rule. It depends on your parents as well.
