Hi all went down mm last min today for a site visit. I was introduce to the level 5 ballroom it's the smallest (min20) tables. Tables setting looks alright apart from the short march in. Everything looks alright apart from the coordinator which pisses my mum and I... If I'm going to sign with mm, confirm will change coordinator....

Hi all, My coordinator is Fiona and I would like to sell away my WEDDING DINNER package at VANDA Ballroom next year 2013 urgently.


Signed before June so there is either free flow beer or 30 L beer + 1 wine per table.

Sunshine : Yeah! Wendy left!! Sheryl is okay ae, she will also try her best to help.. :D so far okay with her.. U may want to call the hotel to check if you'll be liasing with her..

Sheryl also my coordinator now..Haven not spoken to her but so far she seems ok with the recent new requests from us..=p

I just joined, my htb n I are considering MArina mandarin hotel as our choice of venue, just met the Cheryl, good repoirte, love her friendliness, thinking of lunch at vanda room at $900 nett. Can someone tell me how is the food there as there is no food tasting for free.

Hi all, I have also decided to go with Marina Mandarin for my lunch banquet in 2013. My coordinator is Fiona - has anyone worked with her before? Btw, did anyone try asking for a 2nd night for the bridal suite and a complimentary day use room?

I'm also having lunch banquet in 23june 2013 at marina mandarin, my coordinator is Cheryl. We did ask for a 2nd night, but it is chargeable to ard $220 per night. And as there check in is at 2pm, there is a function room at level 6 to use as store n changing room. May I ask u to sent me the perks you got with Fiona at [email protected]

I just placed my deposit with Marina Mandarin, hope its the right choice! Btw, what's the star rating for Marina Mandarin? different websites give different star ratings..

my wedding dinner is on 9 Nov, at the main ballroom and i just attended the food tasting earlier this month.

was a little disappointed that my coordinator or even the person who liaised with us for the cards and food tasting session were not present for it, and we were just given a feedback form. chef did not come out to check how things were either, unlike some of my friends who had theirs at different hotels.

however aside from that, both our families were quite pleased with the quality of the food. the prawns were huge!! and everything was fresh so that was good. hopefully this standard is kept during the actual dinner as well!

will be going for the finalisation meeting in early october, to select theme as well as the wedding favours.

Hi hamtaro, maybe you can feedback to your coordinator? I think chef may not be out but ur coordinator should be there! what are the dishes that you have chosen? care to share?

hi sunshine2906, yeah i think i will just let my coordinator know when we meet her. but it's already over, i guess not much point kicking up a fuss also.

here's the menu i chose for my dinner. didn't want shark's fin, so requested alternatives from MM, and they gave us 2 choices. not sure abt the other option, but the Imperial Kitchen Seafood Soup was a very good choice! super full of ingredients.

1. Lobster Cold Dish Combination
(Lobster Salad, Pan-Fried Abalone Clam with Garlic, Jelly fish with Sesame Seeds & Prawn Spring Roll, Deep-Fried Meat with Beancurd Skin)
2. Imperial Kitchen Seafood Soup
(Sea Cucumber, Fish Maw, Fresh Scallop, Dried Scallop & Crabmeat)
3. Chef's Special Crispy Roast Chicken
4. Steamed Cod Fish with Golden Minced Garlic and Soya Sauce
5. Pan-Fried Prawns in Butter & Garlic Sauce
6. Braised Abalone with Seasonal Vegetables
7. Smoked Tea Duck with Mini Pancake
8. Double Happiness Noodles with Assorted Meat
9. Mango Sago with Ice Cream

hi stubbornsweetie, are you doing away with shark fin soup for the menu as well? MM did not require me to make a top up to choose the imperial seafood soup. i believe it is an option they offer, if couples do not wish to offer shark fin soup.

I have just completed my wedding dinner at MM and I’m really glad that everything went on smoothly with the great help and coordination working with our wedding coordinator, Fiona. Thus, I’ve decided to post here, to emphasize to all BTBs, the importance of getting an appropriate wedding coordinator to assist you throughout the entire wedding process so as to ensure that your once in a life time wedding will be a perfect and memorable one. I'm not trying to be bias here but I just want to share our pleasant experience in working with Fiona as me and my hubby felt that she deserve the credit and recognition. So if anyone intends to sign up your wedding package with MM, do consider engaging Fiona to be your wedding coordinator as we sincerely hope that you too, will have an enjoyable experience and a smooth-flowing wedding in MM.

Do bear in mind that the wedding coordinator will be one of the most crucial point of contact whom you will be working closely with for up to a year before the actual big day. From negotiation of contract, wedding perks, guest invitation, food tasting, external vendor arrangements (floral, wine, cup cakes, lollipops, candy, chocolates), offering helpful and constructive suggestions, recommendations and all sorts of nitty-gritty requests and details. Therefore, it is essential that you must be comfortable in working with your selected wedding coordinator. After all, you are paying for their service. Thus you ought to be satisfied with their professional service rendered.

My hubby and I were worn out and drained with the decisions that we have to make during our wedding preparations. It was overwhelming and stressful. However, we are thankful for Fiona’s expertise as she guides us step-by-step thru the wedding protocol and adhering to the time line management of the event without any hiccups. We also realized the benefits of appointing her as our wedding coordinator, as she has a good track record and a great rapport establishment internally with her colleagues (From Banquet Manager, Audio & Visual Team to F&B crew). This was indeed a bonus reassurance that things would run seamlessly on our actual wedding day, providing us an ease of mind, minimizing our stress level to the lowest possible.

Lastly, a word of advice - not all wedding coordinators in MM offer similar wedding perks or package nor do they possess the equivalent positive work attitudes. Both my hubby and me are relatively easy-going by nature. In spite of this, we were utterly disappointed with our initial unpleasant and rude encounters while liaising with another MM wedding coordinator (we do not wish to name her here) prior Fiona. Fortunately, our request to switch wedding coordinator was granted by the hotel management. Fiona has been pretty generous with the wedding perks. Most importantly, her sincerity, friendliness and her genuine focus towards our well-being were deeply felt and evident from our very first meeting. This is what my hubby and I define, as professionalism. Thumbs up, Fiona!

Btw, for wine vendor, BTBs might want to consider Susan from Euro Link Wines & Spirits, she offers excellent service and attractive pricing. They are located at Toa Payoh and consignment of wine is available without any MOQ plus free delivery to the hotel.

Can I know during when u meet up with ur wedding coordinator to discuss the wedding theme and wedding favor can it be held over dinner there and do we entitled to discount? My frz recently have complete her discuss with her wedding coordinator and the dinner was on the house...

Lastly also want to know at night after wedding the dinner for the newly wed is it have to be the 9 course meal or we can choose from the menu?
 
hi mulvm i signed up with fiona too.. nice friendly lady. the perks no need negotiate de.. she will give u straight without asking.
