i am considering Hilton for Dinner for late 2011, any comments for the hotel?
What did you negotiate package?

I have the same package with her.. both of us are taking grand ballroom (with 3 pillars..
) but not on the exclusive floor as chances that there might be another event/wedding (vista room)
think package is quite standard & comprehensive liao..

Anyone sign up for the Hilton package after the wedding fair? Are they willing to extend the benefits for wedding fair to people who sign up now? Or is there any other additional perks that we can add on to the normal package now?
Am thinking of having my banquet at Hilton and trying to see what else i could add on. Appreciate your feedback.

think its depend on individual bah.. initial i'm bothered like you now.. but in term of package and & budget and capacity, min table is all within our needs & budget.. so my htb & me finally managed to convince ourself and our parents..

"every hotel has its own story for some 'incidents' in the past, be its wedding related or not.. it just happen that this case is the most recent cases and later follow by the bride's suicide and this is why parents have deep impression against it..
since this is your event,you are paying for dinner, and its within your budget, so just go with your heart.. "

Hi i am a btb this oct n signed up with Hilton early this year too!
To me as long as both sides of immediate families have no objections, why not?
Like my dad says "if such things happened n people don't patronize it, it should have close down long ago!"
And moreover my mummy the pantang type has no objections too I was relieved n extremely elated! With the professionalism of the sales mgr, we r absolutely confident that we made the right choice! Though most of the things r non negotiable but what's more to negotiate for all the perks this 5 stars hotel is providing?
To me their story is a beautiful love story so there is nothing really to worry about. Only those ignorant and super superstitious people will gossip abt it. I think in this case most of the hotels cannot hold banquets already...
So far i dont find it a problem answering why we chose Hilton out of so many, I merely told them the truth that the date i want other hotels r fully booked n out of those few available, Hilton is the best choice! Centralized area, near mrt, so accessible n convenient, what more can I ask for? So far only a handful ask me. Maybe some didn't voice out to me straight cuz they r paisay but still there will be people gossiping I believe... It's really not within our control n needless to say I dont really care, cuz this is the best choice for us. I mean if you are seriously going to weigh everything that others comment or say, I think u may need another 2 to 3 yrs or even more before you can finalise the venue.
It's just like choosing apples. Some say red ones r better n those from japan r crunchier, some think likewise. Ultimately it's your choice. Should discuss with ur htb n both side of immediate families first at least respect the elderly opinions.
Sometimes it's better not to listen to too many cuz it confuses u. Otherwise your wedding will take forever to really happen.
What matters most is do u n ur other half care and if you are really bothered about those negative comments you better think thoroughly. It's a once a lifetime event, so proceed joyously n have no regrets.
Happy hotel hunting to those that have yet confirm one! N congrats to those whom have found their desired wedding banquet venue!

Hi all Hilton BTBs, i just contacted hilton today and asked for their wedding package and it is so tempting. But they never send me any photos. i wonder if the ballroom looks good or old? cos the hotel is pretty old.

you better secure your venue fast, be it Hilton or others.. cos Feb 2012 (less than 8mths), most places should be booked liao..

bluewingz: i din choose any theme yet.. cos not sure what my wedding theme or gown color will be so will choose later maybe 3 to 6 mths before AD bah.. they might have new theme for 2012, who knows..

hi da tou ling... i think its better that you schedule a appt with the wedding team and take a look at the ballroom...the pillars isnt exactly very small however they can place the tables in a way that your guest can still see the stage/projector screen. i think its really up to individual to decide if you are comfortable with the pillars

Hi all, I've decided to go with Hilton cos June was accommodating with our requests
Just wanna check with brides who already held their banquets, if you have a Muslim friend, is it ok to add him to a table of 10 ppl? Will the table be too packed?

as for me, having 11th pax for table is ok la.. just take note that do not place all the table of 11 in the same area/section.. cos it will be packed.. hard to move around for guest and server..

queen: i was "served" by the director of catering at the wedding show. i asked him the same qns on wine exchange for additional barrel of beer. he said ok cause to them, its the same. try asking your coordinator the same..i dont see why the coordinator will give you a different answer..haha
