Hi gals,

Sorry for late reply. I did not sign up the package during wedding show as the wedding show only falls on 28.02.09. But my coordinator - Desiree is very nice, she let me enjoyed the promotion earlier, so that i no need come down again on wedding show to sign the packages.
As i know if u sign during the wedding show, u will be able to enjoy complimentary use of 1 LCD projector, additional wish, 1 spa retreat for two and complimentary 30 litre barrel of beer with a minumum guarantee of 50 tables.
For those who are interested to hold your wedding in Hyatt, it's better to sign during wedding show as there are additional perks waiting for u :>

I attended a dinner there on Xmas eve last year and all the ballrooms were booked. There were like 4-5 weddings going on at the same time. Can't remember which room my friend was in but she had her own private reception area.
Deco as classy.

Service wasn't too bad but my table was assigned a Chinese waitress who couldn't understand English. We had to order our drinks in Mandarin.
Some wait staff had ready smiles while some didn't.

The food was unique, not the typical wedding dinner stuff. I mean there was the cold combination, sharkfin's etc but the sauces or the way it was cooked was rather different. Problem is all the food came out cold and her dinner started at 8pm but dragged all the way till 11.30pm. By 10pm, quite a few guests have left. The food service was slow, I think it's coz the kitchen had to cope with so many dinners going on at the same time.

Hi cluelessoink, I have just emailed my coordinator for the dates for upcoming weddings. But, hope to be able to see some pictures first, as I'm doing research on certain aspects of the deco. So, would like to get a feel of it first. Hee.

Hmm, managed to get complimentary day room for helpers. I find that Hyatt's package is already very comprehensive compared to others that we have seen, hence din ask for much more.

In my opinion I would think that Grand Hyatt needs to seriously consider on the flexibility in terms of additional perks so as to gain competitive edge.

In view of the recession, many hotels are already throwing in more perks to attract business.
Yes, I must agree that there isn’t a perfect venue or package one could ever find for every couple is unique! In fact, I’ve liaison with many hotels for Company events be it large or small scale. I am kind of disappointed with all the limitation set by Grand Hyatt. (I am making comparison over the 5 stars hotel).

The T&C is really so unfavourable that put me off right away. To make matter worst, both my hubby and I've communicated to most of our guests that our wedding venue will be at Grand Hyatt. I just don’t understand why the perks can’t be documented.

The clause which states that 50% payment is required 1 month prior to the actual day is so unfavourable to any potential customer. I am quite confident to say that no hotel has this clause in their T&C. However, we come to a conclusion that Grand Hyatt is reputable enough to impose such clause. No doubt, Grand Hyatt has what it takes to attract customers. Nevertheless, it is equally important not to overlook the current market situation.

Hi Mogu,

Where did you get the information abt all the perks for Marina Mandarin wedding show on 19 APRIL 2009. Cos on their web site they didnt disclose in so much details.

I attended the Wedding Show for MM earlier this year. MOre or less similar perks with the April one except more discount for 2009 weekday pricing presumably to fill up the leftovers.

Actually, Hyatt has its own T&C which I feel is satisfactory. If there is a problem making 50% payment a month before the dinner, there is seriously an issue of whether u have enough reserves for the whole wedding. Danger lights are really flashing here. I do agree that Hyatt are quite stringent on providing extra perks. However, it is highly dependent on the way u negotiate for these items. It can be done, just a matter of tact.

hi ladies,

i met mandy the co-ordinator of hyatt yesterday to view the ballrooms.

Really enjoyed her service and of cos comparing hyatt's package to the other hotels in the area, theirs is one of the more flexible n comprehensive one BUT... i find their ballroom ceiling really low...

so disappointing.

Anyone went for food tasting and flowers selection etc? I only have time to read my coordinator's email about it now and is a little concern that there is no red and black tablecloth/overlay etc. Only maroon, vanila, gold etc. Will confirm with her but asking if anyone encounter this.

Hi happybee,

There isn't any red/black theme? Cannot be leh... I'm still a long way away from food tasting and flower selection but what did your coordinator say?

hi Olivia,

She is on leave till tom, thus havent hear from her. I will be picking the red/black theme, liked it from the start. I think they don't call it red and black theme, they call it maroon and it look purplish in the pics my coordinator sent me. :)
Btw, nice pics you posted. I like the 4th pic.

Hey happybee,
When I was there for the showcase, it was red and definitely not purple... I think the combination of black and maroon/purple will be a bit too dark. I will post up a pic of some of the available flower arrangements I took during the showcase as well... If you need for reference :) The red and black theme is nice! Fantastic choice :) Still trying to convince the parents of this combination... haha.
I like how Hyatt's dinner deco is "quietly" elegant, and not OTT like some other places..

Hi all, a BTB here as well...

Can someone please PM me their GH package please??

Does Grand Hyatt do a halal menu considering that their restaurants are all halal certified?

I have a few guests that are muslim... am wondering if they can do individually plated halal rather than full table halal... this way my guests can sit with the people they know...

Other than that, appreciate if someone can share their experience with GH!

Thanks!

Hi all, i just want to share my unpleasant experienced with Hyatt regarding the food tasting (FT) arrangement. I was told all the date are not available except today (mon), therefore i have no choice and only can go for today. This morning i emailed my coordinator to confirm the FT today (how come not my coordinator to email me and confirm) as i worry something may crop up. Who knows my coordinator called me and said the FT is 30/10 (fri)?

I was very very angry and asked her how come i'm not aware of the date changing? My coordinator said she has sent me the email last wed. I'm very sure that my husband and i never received her email. I was quite shocked that she never called me to double confirm the date and totally don't care whether i have received or not??? Somemore the date was so close...

I really disappointed with her services and this has spoilt my mood for the day. I still have to call my family and relatives to apologise to them. I really disappointed with this reputable "5 star hotel" but their service not even 1 star rated!!!

I booked mine at Hyatt too for 2010. This year is definitely a good year to book as there is a saving of $100+ a table as compare to last year when I do my research.

Lissssy,

wow that's quite substantial. care to explain further on the price difference? is it due to dates or something else? when did u confirm the booking?

hi hui,

i had my food tasting early this mth, it went well except the server was very very soft spoken, could hardly hear what dish she is serving. she looks very new and fresh out of school those kind so din really fault her la.

starling, they have a few combi:

Hi, if i m not wrong, u can request for wine sampling but maybe of an addititional cost, the cheapest wine of theirs is about 25 a btl.

Hi All,

I had a change of coordinator once. From Ra****** to De*****. For me, I prefer De***** as Ra****** is totally unapproachable. However, so far, I have only been communicating to her thru phone and email. Haven't seen her in person.

I did my food tasting earlier this month. Although wine tasting wasn't included in the tasting, we requested for it and they did include a bottle of wine for tasting. If you don't ask, they probably wont voluntarily give you. The banquet manager will ask your hotel coordinator for clearance. In my opinion, since the hotel is already making a big sum from us, $25 bottle of wine is really negligible sum for them. :p

Mine went well except I did some amendments to the dish.

Hope it goes well for you all.
