WOW, your WG is beautiful! thanks for sharing! i love the scrunched-up, tiered look of the skirt. it's gorgeous. it cuts a unique silhouette.. i like monique lhullier and alvina valenta gowns, so i went for a ballgown tulle WG. if u leave me your email, i'll send u a link to my fitting pix
i hvnt tried lavish yet, so im not sure abt the food either..kriston is a safer choice but i hear tt they've been in the business for so long, they've long their passion and service isnt as great. will prob give them a call soon and check it out.
i really hope to get a caterer tt wld put some thought into the presentation of the food. i'd love to conceptualise the set-up myself, but it's a bit ambitious and i've sooo many other things to do.. so decided i wun stress over this. i wld rather pay a premium for a good caterer to do it.
yeah, the fun part's the gowns and the shoes (i've 4 pairs so far, and counting)!
i'm having an autumn theme for the church wedding/reception - lots of deep reds, golden yellows and burnt orange plus woody details. getting my jiemeis to wear choc brown tube dresses with theme-coloured sashes and orange peonies in their hair.
as for love nest,we bought a resale EC in hougang. i'm in the midst of reno now. headache. but i've resolved to leave as much of tt to my hubby as possible.
the latest is, the contractor hacked into a gas pipe and now Citygas wants to relay the whole pipe and charge us $600. prob is, we need to get clearance from the condo's management. praying tt they'll give us the go-ahead otherwise we might have to use LPG gas for the rest of our lives! gosh.
honeymoon - no concrete plans yet. we're torn between a beach/scuba holiday in Palau and a football holiday to UK to watch the english premier league. choice choices! hahahahha. but i tink we'll end up at a beach resort..
so how about yourself? are u having a church do? hv u decided on conrad yet? love nest? honeymoon?

Hmm I haven't heard of the loss of passion on Kriston's service etc, but food-tasting was excellent!
Which church are you holding your wedding / reception at? Did you go for MPC?

I'm at Bishan...wow the reno sounds tricky...think when we finally decide on the 4BR unit and all, reno will be a headache also! Are you doing a lot of changes? How much did you pay for your unit and reno?
We've always been talking and planning but nothing concrete and he just proposed recently! So, everything's falling into place now...we're both catholics hence, a church ceremony would be ideal...quite keen on conrad also...and FH's basically very easygoing - he's always asking me to do what I would love...so, toying with the idea of a honeymoon in the US or in Europe! Well, no matter which we decide on eventually, we'll definitely still see the world together!
Haha, and he's prob reading this now...I'm sure we can't wait to start our lives together!

Am glad to see so much talk on this thread. My wedding's over and till today, beautiful memories of the wedding lingers. Thanks to the team at Conrad to make my wedding a wonderful memory. My hubby & I had such a wonderful time.
The suite was fantastic and the food was good. All our relatives were singing praises of the dinner and of course, all the guest had such a great time.
Rest assured that it's probably the best hotel for a wonderful wedding.

omigosh, what a coincidence on the autumn theme and the bridesmaids dresses!!! im in the midst of buying choc brown fabric to make tube dresses for my Jie Meis too! Can share where u made yours? And where did you get the fabric from? I dont hv a v big budget. Wondering if i shld get it done professionally or count on my fren's maid. heheheh.

My wedding will be held at my church along Upper East Coast. I'm protestant and my hubby's catholic. We did our ROM signing at The Nativity church in Hougang.. so AD will be at my church.
which church are u using for your AD? Risen Christ?
yes we went for Pre-marital counselling with my pastor. It's a MUST for everyone planning to get married..v v helpful to iron out expectations before married life begins.
we paid $490k last july for our re-sale EC cos it's near both our parents' homes. i tink the price in the market has fallen slightly since then. reno is adding up to abt $16k cos we're overhauling both bathrooms and hacking down the kitchen wall.
do u intend to get a 4BR in bishan?
i tink Europe's definitely more romantic n memorable as a honeymoon destination than US. I recommend Italy or Spain or both! ..venice/florence are awesome if u like arty stuff.. barcelona is simply beautiful.

hi gals, I am an ex conrad bride (Oct 2004) and I love conrad to death. This hotel housed my 'church solemnisation" at the pool saloon... all my wedding memories are so deeply embedded in my head, all so beautiful coz i made the right choice of hotel. most importantly, my guests and relatives left with a fabulous review for the food. Phew, that was such a relief... girls, enjoy your planning coz i miss my whole wedding so damn much. =p

Just wanna share with everyone the excellent service that I have received from Conrad and its staff, in particular, the catering manager, Mark Chan and his assistant, Joey Ong.
I called Conrad to enquire about booking my wedding banquet on a certain date. Mark and Joey were not only prompt in their replies but they also gave very personalised services. Even though there were already 2 other parties interested in that date, Mark and Joey did not use that against me. Instead, they were willing to accomodate my requests on certain perks, unlike many other 5-star hotels that I have been to which refused to offer any perks cos' there were other parties interested in the date that I want.
Conrad made me feel that they were genuine in wanting to organise a dream wedding for me and that they are not out to make as much profit out of me as they possibly could! After meeting many unfriendly catering managers at supposedly "service-oriented" hotels, it's such a sweet relief to finally meet an understanding, friendly and personable sales manager like Mark and Joey.
Unfortunately, I am unable to hold my wedding in Conrad as the dates that I wanted have all been taken up. So, for all brides-to-be who are considering Conrad, pls learn from my mistake and call them asap. Even though I won't be able to hold my wedding in Conrad, I would highly recommend the hotel to every Bride-to-be as their service is top-notch and you can be pretty assured that they will try their best to make your wedding a success!
Mark and Joey, if you do read this, once again, thanks for the excellent service that you have provided me. It's a pity that I can't work with both of you for my wedding. Do keep up the good work and I wish both of you all the best for the new year.

Actually, we were quoted that the estimate charge for upgrading the flowers were around $500. Not sure if its the minimum charge cos we did not enquire further since we did not wan to pay for the upgrade.
You can check further with your wedding coordinator.

Dear all,
I just had my lunch banquet at Conrad hotel. My guest comments that the food is nice. I personally like the service there and the banquet manager are very friendly too. His name is Dallen. The ambience is also very nice and lovely.
Hope you ladies enjoy your wedding as much as I do too...
