Table arrangement's not tt tough.. The general arrangement is quick, but filling the last couple of seats per table can be tricky.. Must think of dynamics of the ppl at the table. But if u dun intend to, it's also fine, coz it's ur day!

Yest, went for site visit.. Almost 2/3 of homo tiles are laid. Skriting isn't done, wall tiles hacked aren't plastered.
After the tiles are done, need to install kitchen sink, eletrical works & aircon.. Followed by paint, carpentary & installation of lights.. Gosh, i hope by end Sept or 1st week of Oct. Hope by Jess's wedding.. heehee

I've just purchased a bishan unit! Very excited about it. Had stayed in jurong all my life! Now getting even more excited cos have to decide on renovation. I have a question, has anyone of you done false ceiling in your flat? I thought the ceiling looks lower than my flat in jurong. So wondering how it'll be doing a false ceiling. Do advice. Better still, would be great if have pics. thanks.

Quite near to yours! Yours is at St 12 right? Mine is st 13. I was so happy with our purchase that I couldn't sleep the night the OTP was signed. Hehehe. Mine is a 5I.

I am using Aspect D' Interior (http://www.aspect-idesign.com/) cos I find their prices reasonable, and my FH and I can get along with the designer.

My FH and I shortlisted a few others: Intradesign and I-Bridge. Intradesign was my 2nd choice, and I-Bridge my 3rd.
We also visited Zhi Seng, Inner View, Decor Options. But did not find them suitable.

If you need recommendations let us know!

yea, 17X is near. In fact, I was considering between the unit I bought and another in 171. In the end chose the current unit cos it's nearer to central hehe I read quite some good review on intradesign so would probably be checking them out. Thanks for the link to aspect idesign. How much did you pay for your reno? I'm trying to decide if I want to get an ID cos I already know wat i know.

Hee, we used I-bridge for our renos (http://www.i-bridgedesign.com/)...At the end of the day, you have to be comfortable with your ID and feel confident they can deliver what you want

just went to the webpage of aspect idesign. Interesting that they incorporate fengshui in their design. Did you choose to do their fengshui audit? I was thinking of getting a fengshui master to have a look before getting a ID or contractor. Looks like a good idea if the ID have some understanding to fengshui. Is it part of the reason that you chose them?

oh, that's the 200 series. Believe it or not, when my brother and I decided on Bishan and AMK, I actually walked around the entire neighbourhood to check out the distance and the environment hehe. hhehe

i-bridge design looks good too! Noticed Hui shortlisted them too. How many room is your flat? and how much did u spend on your reno?

Breathe: Yea I shortlisted I-Bridge too!! Ally is very nice.

But was a little over my budget for me. So I picked Aspect, cos he gave reasonable deals. But in terms of design, I-Bridge definitely is better. In terms of $$$$, hehee..Aspect lor. Bobianz.

I didn't get them cos of fengshui. I don't believe in fengshui so didn't tap on the fengshui audit. Got them cos their prices are reasonable and my FH and I get along with Eddie the ID.

If you need his handphone let me know! I still have Ally (from I-Bridge)'s number too if you want. Hahah.

mine is 4s. I've sort of decided on the colour scheme and lay out. Just that I'm trying to figure out where else can I put storage or create storage cos the previous owner hacked away the store room. And I need a large shoe cabinet but yet I dont want to block the entrance to the door, want it to be more windy blah blah, you know.. a lot of things to consider hehehe you must have experienced this when drafting the layout for your flat huh.

Breathe: my prev owners hacked away our store room too. So I created a huge cabinet for shoes and for storage just outside my kitchen and near my main door. The storage space then becomes like a mini feature wall too.

I agree with you that such space issue need someone who is experienced. What you can do is when you visit various IDs/contractors, tell them your problem and see how they solve it for you. Then you pick your fav, and then go to your fav ID/contractor and ask them to do it for you.

Moving in is gd.. So far so gd, have been shuttling between ILs @ HV & the house, so haven't quite explored the area yet. Though i went marketing this morn (today i'm off!!) & i'm going to *hopefull* whip up sthg yummy for dinner

U gotta akan datang for pix k? Crazy CPU, so noisy! My tv console, coffee table. study cabinet, shoe cabinet & sofa fr Hommage are here.. Excellent! No defects & they have made 3 trips to deliver all the items at no extra costs. We also ordered the dining chairs fr them, but will only be delivered end Oct, so they loaned us 4 chairs during this interim *good service*

You went to the market at blk 14X area isit? You gotta try to nasi lemak shop near Blk 141 or something. Its great and not too oily! The prata stall at the 2 coffee shops that face each other is also good. ~~~ talking abt it makes me drool already.

I'm doing fuschia pink and purple for my room! Am trying to find the perfect pink. Do you have the code to the pink? Your ceiling looks pretty high cos you had the chandelier. Was considering chandelier for dining table too but scare the ceiling too long not nice. My theme for dining is very solid clear cut black and white. Living room going to be red and black. hehe I like solid colours.

oh nono.. tt was supposed to be red, ICI's Scarlet. But after some coats, it looked more pink than it was red after 2 coats. Oh well, i give up! heehee, HB says it's still a nice colour. My bestie said it looks more fuschia pink.. heheh, so hopefully it wld look fuschia pink if u were to have it

hmm, my ceiling isn't tt high.. But for a chandelier, it shd be as low as possible, otherwise it wld defeat its purpose.. Solid colours r nice!

L-box more ex or false ceiling? i only intend to have a tiny kitchen cos seldom cook. anyone knows where i can get cheap string curtains? intend to use it to segregate the dining room. The one I found is $300 for only 1.5m so ex.

do you have a hood? is it any good? was wondering if I should get a hood cos kitchen is open concept so scare if I cook will make the whole place oily n smoky.... some people say it's useless.

btw anyone knows where to get those rattan hanging chairs tat used to be very popular in the 70s?

hi breathe.. Nice cabinet in pink!! Agree with Hui, there's this country looking cabinet in Ikea, tt's in white. Maybe can get it in pink after painting over? But avoid Ikea for its wood-based products, tends to warp

there's an ID tt specialises in country-ish theme.. Located somewhere off Thomson, *i think* Have seen someone in the SB forums who had engaged this fella and custom-made the bed, dresser, wardrobe and kitchen with this style, but gearing twd the country theme

Maybe can check out Picket & Rail & BarangBarang for the red arm chair.. I've seen a 2/3 seater sofa fr either of the shops with tt design

Breathe: Customized not really that that ex. Hehe. I think Colonial Antiques at Balestier does customized furniture at a reasonable price. Think Dreamdoll can offer more advice on that cos her bed is customized from there.

I find Teakland Gallery good too!! Reasonable price if your cabinet is not tooo huge. Hehe. But if you want it pink..I don't know if can or not at Teakland. Heheh.

Hi mehmeh: I didn't get the bedframe from Teakland in the end cos I got mine from Ecolinks. But I "gian" their TV console and coffee table. Quite reasonable price too. But these 2 are not priority items to get yet (cos now we are so tight with the reno costs

) so maybe get them only after our renovations, or even after the wedding. But I find their prices pretty reasonable. I spoke to Rinni. She says she remembers you and your hub!
