Newly Tours offers quite competitive packages to BKK. And the consultants there r pretty friendly n familiar with the packages.

I am traveling by Finair.... 4 days 3 nites, stayin at baiyoke suite or equivalent hotel. Cost me SGD268. Will be cheaper if I stay at 2 stars hotels like Bangkok City Inn. (think it's 228 SGD) .

So far quote from newly is the cheapest cos I am traveling in Nov which is more 'peak' compared to oct.

the World Trade Centre is now called Central Mall.

Arnoma hotel is just opposite it but it's four stars. So might be more ex.

You may consider Bangkok City Inn, much cheaper n located near world trade centre. and its also near a supermart named Big C which is popular with aunties (So your mum should like it!)

I definitely agree with aspiration, BKK is definitely not cheap anymore! For a lone traveller,when I arrive BKK, I usually take the cab to Mo Chit Station where Chatuchak is for 100B+20B(toll fee)& catch the train to Nana(40B) for my hotel, thus I escape the traffic jam! The traffic jam is real bad in BKK, worst especially on Friday afternoons!

BRC - BKK never sleeps, many places to eat along the lanes and pasar malam at Silom Road, so far havent stayed in that area, just passed thru.

Hi Sinkor, a couple of weeks back I was staying at Ambassador at Soi 11, some parts are under going renovation now. Previously i stayed at Swiss Park, the neighbour but fully booked.Sometimes I stay at Regency Park @ Soi 22. I like the Sukhumvit Area bcoz of the trains, so far havent tried Manhattan. Is it good?

Pratunam is a little way out of the stations,if u get off Chitlom the nearest station, look in the direction towards Le Meridien, walk thru the lane until you reach Petchburi Road,crossing the road u can see Watergate Hotel - behind is the market, maybe about 15mins walk? ie if u look see, look see on the way. Have fun!

Depending when u want to go coz got seasonal rates,
so far hotels I stayed in w/o any problems with good services
are Regency Park, Swiss Park, Ambassador,
Royal Benja @ Soi 5 and somerset @ Soi 15 incl ABF & taxes.

Cabbage & Condom Restaurant is at Sukhumvit Soi 12 the nearest station is Asoke,
exit walking towards Sheraton/Time Sq direction until u reach a left lane which is Soi 12,
walk in about 300-400 metres after Sukhumvit Plaza on the right is C&C. Crepes & Co is there too.
The crepes are fantastic! This one should give it a try.
C&C food is just average,nothing fantastic to me,
they cater more to angmo taste, abit ex, after u pay bill they will give u free condom.
For first timer to experience is ok coz itz unique in the decor & different ambience, other than that nothing to shout about,
so if run out of condoms thats the place to go,

I pay for my hotel room first to save time and future hassles.
So when I check-in, they cannot tell me they dont have my reservations or the rates have gone up!
After hearing so many complaints about hotels & time wasted hanging around the lobby esp in
these regions, I like to think I've done it correctly??.......hopefully

1 of my worries will be transportation back to the hotel in the wee hrs...say ard 1-3am...will it be a trouble getting a cab? Is it safe?

Any1 who has stayed ard the Asia Hotel & Samran Place area? Are there any shops, stalls n etc then open till midnight?

i felt i kena conned....need some advise frm u all...
recently i went to natsa fair. we bk a free n easy package to bkk with Euro-Asia. cos $349 per pax... fly by jetstar asia n stay in asia hotel.

jt now, i receive from the agent, she say asia hotel is fully bk and recommed me to samran place but additional charges (note that time, my bf n i really wan to stay in asia onli, there is two choices 2nd n 3rd by her recommendations cos we told her that we will like to stay near skytrain, asia hotel is our 1st choice. at that time she did mention the third choice samran hotel need to add extra cash)
but now i find out samran is much cheaper asia, y shld we pay extra?! note: my bf n i also paid a deposit of $500 on that day

i got ask her if i cancel the hotel....she say we will have to pay fine
i feel so sick...n confused

sorry to hear abt it. thats the prob with natas... u have to try to negotiate with them and ask them to help you. meanwhile, quicky find out what other hotels they have that you can choose and u decide from there. else, upgrade to a better hotel lor.. heard novotel is not bad.
