I'm new here. Thinking of booking ACM for my wedding as well.

I have afew question here, hopefully you all can assist me

1) Can I check whether the River Room can hold up to how many person?

2) Inside their list, they have 3 caterer, which one is good and reasonable price? Kr*ston, Lavish or Rasel?

3) Where is the parking area? I understand that they have limited parking slot there

4) Is it a *MUST* to arrange for florist for decoration?

5) How much does it cost for catering?

Agnes, I have answer your question below. Hope it's helps.

1) Can I check whether the River Room can hold up to how many person? It depends whether you are looking at standing or sit-down. For my case I'll have 16 tables of 10 person in river room and 15 tables of 10 at river terrace. If you're looking at all standing reception, I believe you can have more guests inside.

2) Inside their list, they have 3 caterer, which one is good and reasonable price? Kr*ston, Lavish or Rasel? I intend to order from Rasel since they cater for my church wedding in December. Infact Richelle also cater from them too, and I tasted their food, yummy!

3) Where is the parking area? I understand that they have limited parking slot there. I have check the parking with ACM, guests can park thier vehical at fullerton or parliment house. ACM also have a long stretch of parking behind but very limited lots. maybe about 10 or 15 only.

4) Is it a *MUST* to arrange for florist for decoration? Up to you if you find it too plain. For my case, I not engaging florist. I getting Rasel to provide me with wedding arch at entrance and candle stand at stage area. Shuld be good enough. For richelle wedding, she only have Rasel floral arrangement on buffet area. I think it good enough. ACM already so pretty so no need much decor.

5) How much does it cost for catering? I haven really calculate but should be round less than $65 per person.

The photo that you sent me was cater by "Rasel"? It's looks lovey & simple. I receive their quotation. Price rather reasonable. Might consider them. Do you know if we can arrange for food sampling? If I'm taking their services most slighty I'll get them to book ACM for me too. One stop easiler for me.

yes, the caterer in Richelle's photo is Rasel. Their are quite well know in the market from what I know. Previously I cater from them because my company use to cater for events and some friend also recommanded them. I'm arranging to meet them during the weekend to discuss further. 100% using them unless something happen at very minute. Will update you again.

I think you can call them to give you a quotation for your wedding. They actually give me a better deal as I also cater my church wedding with them.

Hi Agnes and Jastea, I am also thinking of using ACM as my wedding dinner. I have included the rental of the terrace, rasel buffet sit-down menu and marquee cost. Do you know if i need to include any other cost? Also, when will be your big day?? =0).. Mine will be next april.. =)

Yes, i have book Rasel for my wedding. Anyway this is the not the first time that I'm catering from them, so sampling not require. Anyway i got confident with them.

I also book ACM thru Rasel. No additional cost. I think it easlier to have someone to cover everything including food and venue. At least I don't have to liase to 2 different person.

Thanks for clarification! Yes, you are right, if Rasel can help me to book at no additional cost why not! At least hassel free for bride like me. Sometime I find quite hard to get hold of the person in charge in ACM.

I'm trying Rasel food today. Hopefully they don't disappoint me. If sampling goes well, I will book them for my wedding date.

Go throught Rasel to check the date availabity is faster, I think they have their own contact over there.

Anyway I tried Rasel food last few weeks, super! Have decided to book them for my big day and I'm getting them to book the River Room for me too...

Hi gals! I would like to see some photographs of floral deco/set-up at ACM as well. I will be holding my wedding in Sept 09 and sourcing for event venues. Thanks heaps!
 
Hi it's so interesting to see so many weddings being planned for the ACM. I was one of the pioneers. Our wedding was held at ACM in late 2003. We had Raffles Affairs (the Westin's outdoor catering arm) cater for the Western sit down dinner and Green Point flowers for the floral decor for the solemnisation at the Shaw Foundation Gallery and the dinner.

Costs were very high - even higher than the highest end hotels - but it was certainly memorable.
 
hi people! how much do you think will be the perceived ang bao rate for ACM? I wanna work out a budget. :p

anyone who held their wedding there care to share their experiences? :p

Im new to this forum and have plans to hold my wedding next Oct at ACM, their river room & terrace. Have rec'd the quote from ACM but the marquee charge seems overkill. How extensive shld the marquee be to be considered as enough coverage?? Pls advise. Thanks!!

Hi Jajah,
Im looking at an approx. of 150-200 guests attending. ACM's regular contractor's quote for an A-shape marquee is abt 600+ per section and 5k+ to fully cover the terrace. Not forgetting tentage for food preparation...

Hi Jenic,

Just for the marquee alone it will cost abt $25 per person for 200 pax. Food and other costs are not included yet will we be able to break even as people will think buffet is cheap.

Haiz... recession now have to think abt every dollar and cent

Haiz.. precisely.. cos of the high cost involved, i ended up looking for a more ideal hotel setting which suits wat we are looking for instead of having it at these unique venues..
