Hi Kitty,

Thanks much..I will make an appointment with them. My WTB and I will be in SIN end of November for couple of days and hence, trying to visit the shortlisted bridal shops in the tight time frame.

I guess that my WTB has to fit the wedding gowns from each designer and see if it looks good on her.

your WTB has to fit the wedding gowns and see how the dress feels on her, and also, how she (being the one who will be wearing the dress, and not u) can click with the designer.

Since you know when you'll be in SIN, you can book your appointments already. Nov & Dec are hot months for weddings. They maybe several other couples who need to do their 1st, 2nd or final fittings during that time...so, it might be better to fix an appointment first. Thanks to technology, there's always the email...

Oh my 1st fitting is in Dec. khris u have to book appointment if ur WTB wanted to try the gown. Coz AL (cantonment) dont sure about the orchard outlet is very exclusive (1 to 1).

CSI ur WG & EG all settle? when is ur AD. if u dont mind i ask so much.

Yes they have another outlet, but i have not been there too. If u want to meet Amanda personally it will be at the Cantonment outlet.

Is this your 1st or 2nd fitting? Sure that you will have lottas fun..

Ours will be in Oct 07.. the actual date is not fixed yet cos got to wait for my WTB mum's "Sinseh" to get the dates which will be sometime in Feb 07.

We are not in SIN most of the time and hence, have to start sourcing early. Have to make use of every oppurtunity when visiting SIN (now I sound like a tourist) to visit bridal shops..

Its best that u make appointment early...coz i know after the 7th mth a lot of ppl are going to BS and many of them are having their wedding. When are u coming back?
 
Summerice.. similar sentiments, now going back Singapore is like going for a vacation..

Will be back towards the end of November, to attend a friend's wedding on the 24th November.

Bet that you must be really excited about your 1st fitting then.

Hi Summerice, I'm working in Thailand and my WTB is Thai-Chinese. We are planning to do customary + wedding dinner in Thailand and as for Singapore, will be doing another dinner for relatives and close friends but nothing grand, which most likely will be at a restaurant.

You done with your ROM already?
 
Hi Summerice.. only getting 1 WG for Thailand (no $$$). As for Singapore, since it is only a dinner, will do with just a EG..
 
Well, at this point, we are thinking not doing the photoshoot before the wedding as it is just lots of poses and stuffs. So, that's one thing off and plus I have couple of suits on hand already, so no man suits. No wedding car deco or flowers as only doing the dinner in SIN.

As for Thailand, we will hire a good photographer for the actual day and source the car deco + flowers ourselves.

Budget? I think that the WG will cost the most, so setting aside ~3k + on it. The evening gown for SIN is still up in the air, we might even get Thai style (at least something different) for the dinner in SIN.

The Thailand side will need a WG and probably a teadress for the morning customary session. Been toying with the idea of getting a knee length Chenogsam or something sweet and nice.

The reason for me to hunt in SIN is that I don't quite trust the Thai shops and their gowns are pretty mediocre. If we are to look for Top designers in Thailand, they will cost a bomb, even more ex. than SIN.

Obviously trying to keep everything as low as possible but will let my WTB decide what gowns she like and will look nice in.
 
ic, but there are many tailors in thailand plus u can get thai silk easily at a lower cost.

Come back here n take a look, who knows maybe ur WTB fall in love with some gowns here. some BS do have short CS which they sell OTR.
 
Ya...will look for both Thailand and SIN. Do you know which shops have nice short CS? From this forumn, it appears that
 
Khris if u want OTR u can try Allure and Ted Collection. Maybe even Dang but i am not sure if Dang sell them. If u want MTM u can ask AL not sure if she has OTR to sell maybe u want to check.
 
Thanks... did not realise that I had the unfinished sentence.. ya, I was about to say that from the forumn, it appears that Ted Collection, Dang are the popular ones. Do you know what amount of $$$ am I looking at? My WTB prefers those modern type, with lace (or something) instead of the silk type. I ever warn her that if she get those silk type, she might end up in similar costumes with the waitress..

khris i saw those lace one wont look like waitress. If lace will be more ex...for Dang i think rental is about 1.2k i am not very sure also coz i never ask for short CS. I heard that Ted collection also have outlet in Thailand, maybe u can check it out.

I didnt have PS in my package with AWL. So i cant really advice u. I think u can ask AWL about the photo package thing and see what they advice u. It also depends on the photographer u want, did he tie up with AWL?

had 20 pics. think additional charges is $80 per page and $150 per collage. Not too sure, coz we didn't take anything extra. We felt no point for something we'll be keeping in the cupboard for the next X years. BUT Robin doesn't return any pics in soft copy. NOT EVEN the selected images. So you might want to take note.

Coz sometimes depends on what you want...can customise, to some extent. Also depends on the kind of album you want. Always good to go see their works first before you ask about pricing. Esp for AD PG. Price may be 1 big factor...but what constitutes good pricing (good works? quality album that can last and last?) is subjective.

buy over the gown? Isn't the norm, rental to begin with? If you want to buy over the gown then you pay additional...I paid normal deposit. Not sure if there's been any changes...but dun think so...
