Advice on diamonds

I think something between S$6K- S$8K is ok. I acty found 1 item at Larry that is exactly S$8K. The other one is S$8.5K tho. I am somewhat concerned abt getting chopped online also. Whereas Charlotte Atelier and Larry are reputable. Tiffany & Co is out for me - I think the design does not justify the price. The Lee Hwa, Goldheart and Soo Kee rings do not interest me either, especially more so for Lee Hwa

woo, what is the spec you looking at? I also does not like those commercial jeweler design, some how like quite common.

I am actually more interested in the cut. Size - probably 0.45 - 0.55
Color - G and above. No need to be a D
Clarity - SI 1 and above...Afterall, the inclusions are not visible to the naked eye!

èµµæ•,

based on your spec, the price can be cheaper. I got mine for $4k with the spec of colour E, VS2,triple excellent cut and total up of 0.5carat. If you want, i can recommend to you or show you my ring picture.

oic, their ring is more unique compare to the rest of the retails.. That is why i like. No problems, bring bf go is better. *wink wink*

I went to Marina Square earlier to see the stuff at Just Diamonds. I then went to Charlotte Atelier at Suntec. Bf thinks that the Charlotte one is nicer, which I agree also..My bro and parents who were present also thought the same...And when I was at JD, the lady told me that the price is fixed?!?! I don't think it is really cheap either... =/

that was fast, yup their price is fix which i think most of the retails does also. But if you know someone working there, for sure got discount *wink wink*. So end up what you get from charlotte?

Fat_Ger: Haven't bought anything yet, cos the "engagement" is to happen within 1 year, but the bf doesnt wanna say when he wanna "spring the attack" ;)

The one I saw at Charlotte is a 0.53 ct, F,SI1 diamond. I think that looks very nice on the 3D contour setting. 2 weeks ago I saw one at Wisma, which was .32 ct - A tad small. The 0.53 ct one is better, so now I more or less know what is a good size on that setting.

oic, for sure the cut and setting is very important that will determine the brilliance of the diamond. So how much does it cost?

The Charlotte Atelier diamond itself is retailing for about S$6K. With setting, it is abt S$8K

Btw, I took the bf to Larry to see the Lazare I liked. I have a photo of it but the photo doesnt do the rock justice. It is also retailng for about S$8K. Specs - 0.52ct, G, VS2

Hi all,
recently, i have visited a jewellery shop. Thinking of buying 1 ct diamond. The sale staff recommended a AGS certified diamond. this is the 1st time i heard of AGS. Has anyone heard of AGS before?

hi, jun. 1 carat diamond isnt too big. after wearing for sometimes and you'll find it's small! i got a more than 1 carat and so far i find the size is just nice.

Hi Pooh..

Maybe it is not too big for you.

It is super big for my finger n look very weird n cannot wear them daily. My finger is too slim for 1 carat. It is like something huge there then can obstruct my finger from doing stuff.

Hi Jun and Pooh,

At least you all already have your beloved ring.

So Lucky!! Haha

After reading up abit over the internet, understanding AGS has light performance while GIA doesn't, so he went to a few shops which has both diamonds for comparison and he say he can see the different. He felt the AGS is somehow brighter but it must be the AGS best cut which is a 4 IDEAL.

Hopefully he is able to make a good decision.

Hi,
Anyone bought their proposal ring from Tiffany or Lazare ?
I'm looking at their rings and would like to gather more opinions on this two brands' proposal ring.

Hi, I am new here!! Can I ask is Lee Hwa destinee rings better or Love & co. I heard from both that they have ideal cuts and that private dealers do not offer ideal cuts. However I really love Love & co rings selections as they have more designs and both diamonds look brighter. Not really an expert in finding rings. So hope to get some advice here.

End of it.. it still depends on what you really want. My wedding bands were from destinee range. to me i dun bother whether it is bright or not.. but the design which captures my attention. :D. My proposal ring was from a normal range from lee hwa though.

Hello! I replied to you in another thread, if this is still relevant for you now, the shop I mentioned, Exotic Gems & Jewellery, you can ask Alicia Chua for Ideal cuts, they have them. And, they can actually source diamond for you within your budget.

U can also try to look for Amanda from eClarity.... They moved to Ngee Ann tower B recently

She has wide knowledge of diamonds and should be able to ask advise you
