Hotel rendezvous can consider too ... table price should be close to your Budget after some discounts/ perks. Their service is great and good food

Hi, may i know what should be the "appropriate" number of gowns for a wedding? I've customized one and not too sure if i should get another piece. My initial plan was to do with 1 gown and 1 evening gown (this will be used during pre wedding shoot and actual day). Thanks!

Hello! I have also 2 gowns, plus one tea dress for the morning ceremony :)

I have 2 gowns and 1 tea dress too. Are you doing lunch or dinner? Cos I know a bride who did lunch had 1 gown only :D. It really depends what you want.

I got 3 gown (1 wedding, 1 evening and 1 tea dress) for my AD frm my bridal studio. Initially only plan to use 1 wedding + 1 evening. But managed to nego another one cuz wanted rom on separate day.

Hi BTB, any idea that if with 15 tables, Hotel Rendezvou will have cash rebate? We dont need any hotel room but just bridal room for changing on the day itself.
We find that 1.3k is a bit high for us, we are ok with 1.2k per table only, so if there is some rebate, maybe can be 1.2k per table

Hi, i settled with Rendezvous hotel. I went to a few hotels + restaurant, finally confirm wt Rendezvous as i believe the money will be well spent here. Anyone want to look for hotel wedding, can try Rendezvous, not bad.

Was recommended the UOB One and Citibank PremierMiles Visa Card by my wedding banquet coordinator. You can check them up.

Guys, do you think goodie bag for kids is helpful? Like small booklet of colouring book with a small set of (cheap cheap) colour pencil, then maybe a toy. Saw them on Pinterest but have never seen anyone do that. I can get them cheap from Taobao but I'm just wondering if you guys think it's useful?

UOB One is only good if the hotel allow monthly progressive payment as you will need to spend 2k consecutively (3 months) for the cash rebate

I am using UOB ONE CARD!

My hotel banquet allows me to swipe 10 transaction per month. So I request 9x$200 + $201. Total $2001.

Haha, cause I abit kiasu.. I scare it must be $2000 above then can be entitled.

Cause I had bad experience with HSBC, where I swipe exactly $2000 and they refuse to give me the higher tier of the additional 1 % cashback. So since then, I decided to swipe $2001 when they said spend $2000. Just to play safe.

UOB one got this $200 cashback if you spend $1200 within 30 days card approval.

So you will get $200 (1st month) + $300 = $500 in the first quarter if you spend $2000 every month. Super worth it! I call the bank to verify the promo.

If you pay over 12 months, you will get $300x4quarters + $200 (1st month) = $1400! That is equivalent to 1 table!

Can consider opening joint account with your partner too!! The interest is higher !

Hais off topic but sorry need to rant.

All along my mom (my dad passed away a few years ago) knew our AD itinerary since we started wedding prep. I stay in the very west and my HTB stay in the very east. We planned to go straight to hotel after church ceremony and have tea ceremony for both sides in the hotel before the banquet so everyone gets some rest at the hotel. If not too much travelling time.

Today my mom suddenly say she refuse to do any tea ceremony outside our house. Hais. She say the hotel banquet is by the groom's family, so the hotel is the groom's territory, so there is no reason why she should have tea served to her at the groom's place. Say very insulting and disrespectful. So she rather not have any tea ceremony.

My HTB's family is doing well compared to the average Singaporean. They have never made me feel small, and did not turn down my mom's requests. But my mom keep saying things like "They think they stay in big houses so they can do this?" Hais. Don't know why she so sensitive and want to stir drama out of nothing.

Btw she also stirred drama for my sister's wedding. Only my brother she didn't say much because to her my brother is always right and her son is the perfect son. Is it all wedding sure got mother drama? Argh.

I Guess it could also be mummy anxiety as her girl will be leaving home soon ... and she is feeling sad ☹️...

A workaround could be to do the tea ceremony after the gatecrash/ when groom enters your home ... after that then proceed to church ... it’s not necessary for all your mum side to have tea there and then ... the others can continue at the hotel.

My mom say the proper way is groom first then bride. If want to do tea ceremony = want tradition, then should follow the traditional way. So she don't want anything that is not following tradition (although normally she emphasize her very modern). She's quite stubborn... then she will make up story and criticize behind me and my HTB's backs to our relatives that we never serve her tea.

Spoke to my HTB. We will get her a gift after the whole wedding and maybe serve her tea on our own without all the flairs.

Thanks for the reply! I've decided to not let her ruined my wedding because she did that to all my siblings.

Can also check with the hotels on their credit card promotion. I used AMEX card for the deposit and they gave us additional 20 bottles of red wine which is slightly more than 1k and AMEX card has cash rebate as well.

You can try DRX, I paid for the package and it's like $200 per session. Now they are having promo in FAVE $60+ for the same facial that I'm doing. I've recommended few person and they are not pushy (i can't guarantee this as it's case by case).

Yup - I used Busybody.sg for our 2017 oct's AD photobooth. Loved their services to the max! Very prompt and patient :)
Another company you can consider for photobooth's srslyphotobooth. I used Srsly for quite a few company events, they are quite impressive too :)

You MUST perform minimum 5 transactions of at least $2k spending every monthly bill. Make sure you spend $2k with min 5 transactions for 3 months to qualify for the quarter rebates. (Try 4 transactions and you will fail to receive your $300 rebates)

Thank you for your advise, Felirocious, May i also check if the 5 transactions within 1 time hotel visit is ok rite? or must be different day? Sorry i very blur abt it, my HTB leave it to me -_-'

Wahh i dont think i can afford paying $200 for the facial leh but i guess i will try the fave one haha!

But then u can’t do like one facial to see result ... and do note there’s probably some add on $ if you are looking at bridal facial ... as they will need to use ampoule to have visible results ... and probably some equipment for moisture etc ..

Any Teochew brides here and can share their itinerary ?Also I have to do my ROM at the ballroom from 1pm as this is the auspicious hour for our ROM by Master David Tong. Need help on planning if we have to do our first march in first and follow by ROM or vice versa.

hey girl. i am also having a lunch banquet and must leave my hse before 7am. however, i am not having a gatecrash. usually for lunch, ur ROM needs to be in the morning. u can only do ur solemnisation at 1pm if u are having a dinner banquet. another alternative is to do ur first march in then ur solemnisation on stage in front of all ur guest. only a suggestion as i have never seen anybody who does this.
