i never like taipei, still prefer HK best. other than the big departmental stores in taipei that sell nice clothes, the rest does not sell clothes as trendy as those small shops in HK.. also, pp on the streets are also not as well dressed as HKers.... hehehe

hi compassrose, u can try all the major department stores like Metre, OG, robinson. most of their price quite ok, I bought my at metro paragon for $50+. Tangs got some nice one too but more ex. HTH

Diana, hdb area ah? maybe weekend will go AMK see see. actually yesterday went to expo lifestyle exhibit, try the Dunlopillo orthorest "beverly" range, the one with memory foam, quite nice but $1499, over our budget leh. so still considering. u got any brand or type in mind?

Asura, erm like those couple that we only invite 1 party and not the other sometimes they will bring their partner along during the very last minute and also those ppl with kids cos although kids might not eat alot but then they still take up space within the table so what i did was to put a max of 2 kids per table and count as 1 headcount of adult.....hmmm then u also gotta count how many not very confirmed ppl u have in ure list lor try to msg them about 1 week before the dinner to have a final confirmation

princess, tell you wat.. my first honeymoon is also right after my AD with my fiance's extended family.. wahhaha.. coz some of them are coming back from overseas, fiance's aunt planning a mega getaway in a beach resort for 5-6 families.. but details not firmed yet.. and australia is a nice place.. i love melbourne most tho.. =)

Lipstar...sssshhhhhhh.....I go to people's house to cut hair. She used to be a hairstylist in a salon before but she had to quit to take care of her ailing father. So now she sort of set up "shop" in one of her bedrooms. So cut hair less than $20.00. All her clients from the salon followed her.

princess, australia is kind of ex now. this is what i feel... b'coz FH is thinking of going to Tasmania.. & i did a budget analysis.. the total cost for 14days can compete with going to USA/Europe. personally, not very value for money.

i think, travel cost has been going up over the years... 4 yrs ago, it only cost $500 (incl airport taxes) to fly by SQ and I had a free internal flight from Sydney to Melb somemore. also, I spent 5 weeks each in USA/Candana and in Europe & i did not even spend alot of money.

I am still thinking if going to Tas is a good choice.. furthermore i will hv 14 days of marriage leave to apply... maybe, can wait till next yr, then go Japan during spring time.. anyhow, see how...

This morning I went to this co for interview. I was interviewed by 3 pp - CFO and 2 more pp. They asked me why I left the last co (let's call it "XYZ") after just 6 mths. So I told them frankly "extremely high turnover rate" and counted for them to illustrate my point (in a co. of 20 pp, at least 10 left in 2005, and this yr so far only june at least 18 pp hv left) cos I didn't want to badmouth my previous employer (let's call her "Q") since it is unethical.

So they asked me why is that so. I explained very briefly that the working environment is not so healthy, not so nice. Then after talkin abt other things, then the CFO suddenly asked me "is XYZ still in business?" I said "ya."

Then he asked "Is it still run by Q?" which is my boss' name! I was shocked that he knows her. Then he added that he only knew her briefly from accounting firm 1. He then told the other 2 interviewers that they were colleagues at firm 1. She left firm 1, then went to a/cting firm 2. After she left firm 2, she set up her own biz. And that he did notice tat my co (XYZ) do advertise almost every week. Haha! So he knows what kind of person she is.

Singapore is a very small world! Word goes around!

yuki, S$200-300. So be prepared to pay abt 300+ for Ausi & Spore airport taxes. Car rental is also ex. A full size car for 14 days, incl insurance & petrol cost close to $2k!! Hotel accomodation average is $100 at least & it is the most basic kind. i almost fainted when i did my analysis.

In Singapore, if I were to jump ship and go to another firm, they will also know the dealings of the firm cos' the legal frat very small. It's a small world indeed.

i think tasmania is a beautiful place.. different from europe or canada/us.. so cannot just compare price imho.

it's easier to compare the quotes if u have told them to quote according to what u have listed. Then u can compare apple to apple. If not, diff ID will quote differently and it's hard to compare. So if u are preparing to meet another ID, maybe prepare a list of items and ask him to quote accordingly.

i hope tasmania is really that beautiful to make me go "wow" again.. it has been such a long long time since i will say "wow".. even my trip to UK last year did not impress me... actually, i would love to revist NZ and certain cities in europe again.... cities like Rome... Barcelona...
