when i went for food tasting in june, they just renovated their restaurant, looks nice very "chinese"....as for the food, their shark's fin very nice.

when is your AD? cos if u wan CC then u must book fast...my AD on 30-oct-04, i booked in Sep-03...when i went down to meet the mgr to discuss, actually there is a couple who book on the same day but didn't put deposit..so he called the couple & asked them if they still want...lucky for me cos my MIL called a lot of hotels for availability, a lot being booked....so to play safe we put deposit & settle for there loh...

continue another day...meeting friends to go JB eat supper now...bye

yo pigger... dun worry... i also excited on my ROM day tat time... come to think of tat... really enjoyed myself but there some rain on that day so nbr really take much pix at the centre lor... well will pray for good weather tat day... no worry... also enjoy ur BKK trip... there alot of things to buy for wedding... like ang bao box, paper flowers, wedding favours leh... intend to get anything from there...

Hi Ash, heard that ambience at Goodwood park is not bad. But limitation is the small no. of tables that it can accomodate. If u r fine with that, then go ahead.

Any idea how much a mag style photos wld cost? Seems to cost a lot and have to top up at least $2500 for that.

Any idea if any BS in JB is capable of coming up with mag style photos?

I am also a march bride....my AD is on the 19 (kind of worried now when i see nobody using that date). Had actually consulted two masters to do a calculation and they actually gave me two different dates....1 on the 12 and 1 on the 19....had decided on 19 cos it is also a meaningful date for us but now.....(sign! sign!) wondering whether to change or not...


What tradition part are you refering to? do you mean those "guo da li" stuffs?

btw...I am also thinking of holding a tea reception. but parents commented that it is too simple, so thinking of setting smaller scale dinner for relatives and high tea for just friends and colleagues.....why did you choose conrad?

i only intend to invite close frens and family. i even exclude those relatives that i'm not close with.

i am not holding mine at the grand ballroom, only got 30 tables so will be holding in one of the smaller ballroom called belvedere.

snoop - good for you that you are able to choose your relative...my grandmother die die want me to invite her brother and sister and family...bo bian lor, my dad also listen to her and i cannot defy both of them

cos after my sis wedding three yrs back, my parents realised the problems of inviting relatives so they are agreeable not to invite them. anyway, mine is a small scale wedding, no space if i want to invite all of them. hehe

The package they offer me is also OTR, but no matter what i said, they stil dun offer me the Tea dress. Sad. I have not sign up with them yet. Still hoping to bargain after the JWN wedding show . Maybe tomorrow going to JB BS and see how.

I think Mag style will be quite ex and our photos will also come in a theme. some BS know me at least we need 60 pictures to make a Mag style album. But Nowadays, average pictures given are only about 25-30. We need to at least top up a 30 pics more which will be $2500 extra or even more.

I am also confused if I shd take up a JB BS. Still sourcing...

But the down side for this type of little pax is they dun provide warmers. Everything will be in disposable wares.

Oh btw.
I forgot to say something about Hilton hotel in my last posting.

I went to Hilton hotel for a two-day seminar recently.The ballroom seemed quite old, like early 1990s kind. It was not very impressive.

Just to digress a little, we were served lunch in a chinese restaurant called Happy Valley or something and the decor was horrendous! Like 1970s style. The wall was made of dead coral and had ugly pots of orchids awkwardly protruding from the walls. Plus there were many big red chinese lanterns clumped together hanging from the ceiling. And that's not all, the so called fountain was dried up too! That's why my impression of Hilton is like zero... But the cheesecake was delicious though!

I considered Sentosa before too.

As far as I know, the hotel (Beaufort or Rasa Shangri-la) will pick up the guests from MRT stations. But eventually I din decide on either as my fren scared me with stories of Sentosa being haunted and my cousin saw "something" in the gents... This are just personal stories I heard ad I am not defaming anyone so pls dun sue me...
 
I hv to stay w in laws cuz my hubby is de only son.
But ive heard dat de hotels der is V romantic. As my pax is only 100, not many hotels are willing to acomodate mi. Do any of u noe where I can get a buffet of 100pax which is ard less than 80? Carlton so far is de cheapest i can find but itz a 4*. My main worrie is losses. Sigh.. Any of u got a wedding planner or sth? Can share?

Budget is not a problem to us, juz don noe choose who. May b still AD still far away, tats y not so hurry to find photographer. But seen like most of u have start sourcing for photographer, make me a bit kan jiong liao.

Interest rates for housing loans in banks are of floating, thus when economy is blooming, banks will raise the interest rate, since all banks are raising the rates, customers no choice still have to take if not no where to get loan already. If u notice, if one bank raise, the rest will follow, likewise, one decrease, the rest will follow too, as these banks normally have an unofficial agreement for all these rules.

HDB loans with banks are more attractive for short term basis especially the first 3 yrs. But for long term, its better to take HDB loans from HDB itself as their interest rate will definitely be lower when economy is blooming. Most pple also take bank loan for resale flat as HSB has rule for concessionary loans, per couple only allow once or twice for consessionary rates only. After that, they have to get bank loan.

I agree the goodwood park is nice, however, in terms of accessibility, it's not that near to mrt. i think the max number of tables is only 32 if i din forget.

I went down to Raffles the plaza to disuss with the coordinator. He is very friendly and we discussed a lot of details with him. He gave us quite good perks and me n my FH quite satisfied. As for now, we are waiting for him to send us the contract and go through them... If everything goes on well, I guess i will more or less settle wif Raffles the plaza.

Ming, i agree wif highness... think now seldom have bridesmaid... only jiemeis.. but har, come n think or it, if u pay for all jiemeis and bridesmaid dresses, then very "xiong" leh.. need to fork out another amt of cash!!

no choice leh.. we did a rough estimate that we need a no. of 40+ tables.. that left us without much choice so we went to dragon gate.. in order to take the big ballroom we need a table of min 45.. so no choice...

luckily at least got some good remarks on the venue nw... me still need to spend some money to decorate the place.. u know of any florist that offer good service at reasonable price??

I meet up with a wedding planner before to ask for quotation to come out with a theme for my WD but eventually nvr sign up wif her.. becoz it is quite X... so we decide to do it ourselves..

I think having a wedding planner would be great if u need him/her to plan the entire wedding for u.. on top of them, would need extra cash for this...

When I reach the BS, the designer wasn't ard.. I went thru the WGs and saw my gown... find it very nice.. but then.. when i tried it on.. it's too big... so quite a lot of alternation to do.. now quite worried whether the gown will be fitting

Have paid $1588 for deposit, but I am willing to let go at $1000 only.

Package is inclusive of ROM make-up &amp; dress (so u dun have to source ard during ur ROM), AD photographer + CD ROM..etc, besides the standards..(a whole long list of them, but feel free to ask me for a full detailed coverage if u r interested...

Acutally when I did my rough calculation I need abt 30+ tables, I did consider restaurants in the beginning, but hubby didn't like any of them cos of the pillars, in the end went thru the list of hotels, after viewing abt 10 of them, we shortlisted Oriental &amp; Carlton, cos only these 2 hotels have good feedback on food &amp; ambience.

But considering that Carlton have pillars in the ballroom that turn me off, so went to Oriental &amp; place a deposit with them. But when I break the news to my PIL, they're not very happy lor, cos they wanted us to hold in Carlton, but luckily I only tell them after I place a deposit so they can't do anything anymore, but I neg very hard for the pkg tat I'm having now

I dun have any florist contacts leh, will let u know when I come across any
