She found so much fun and joy in styling and personalising her wedding that she hasn’t been able to stop styling since!

That’s how MerryLove Weddings came into being. Like a fairy godmother of wedding styling, Shuying and her dedicated team of elves make a bride’s dream wedding come true by conceptualising a theme for her big day, sourcing or creating the necessary props, and taking care of the delivery, set up and tear down. While wedding styling has taken flight these days and stylists are in demand, MerryLove Weddings was born in an era where wedding styling was a relatively new concept for couples. It was a ‘good to have but can do without’ item on a couple’s wedding to-do list, so not many set aside a budget for it and understood that its more than just the decorating of a venue. Behind each styled wedding lies hours of research for inspiration and fresh perspective, all while taking into consideration the couple’s personalities, preferences, venue, wedding outfits and even stationery. Then begins the designing, crafting and sourcing for props, and the preparation of logistics for the moving of these props. The team is then under a tight time constraint to set the place up and ensure every single detail is perfect and where it should be before the guests arrive.

With the help of social media, Shuying showed couples how they can personalise and differentiate their wedding through styling by sharing décor inspirations. Slowly but surely, her efforts soon paid off as couples started to see their weddings as blank canvases capable of countless styling possibilities – just as the MerryLove Weddings team did – and regard wedding styling as an essential.
