Weddings in Pictures: From This Day Forth And Forevermore
Back in October, we shared Jayne and Vernon’s bohemian inspired engagement shoot with Bobby Kiran Photography and MerryLove: Wedding Things while waiting for photographs of their beautiful garden wedding to be ready. Well, the wait’s finally over and we’re able to share their joyous big day with you! Take a peek into their idyllic garden wedding at Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore, and be a part of their special day.

Your wedding looks like a whole lot of fun! How was it like planning for the big day?
We wanted to keep things simple with a rustic-themed solemnisation, decorated with blocks of wood, gorgeous hand-made lace panels and plenty of baby’s breath all around. We transitioned to a glitz and glamour theme for our wedding dinner, with lots of gold glitter accented with pink details. MerryLove Weddings did a great job with our solemnisation and wedding set-up, while CC Lee nailed the rustic theme in her floral arch and table centerpieces! As much as it was our special day, we wanted our guests to enjoy the day as well. So we thought what better way to let our guests enjoy themselves than to treat them to Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore’s delicious food!
Tell us about the actual day.
The day commenced at 10am with our gate-crashing. The auspicious timing to leave the house for us was any time after 7am, so we thought 10am was the perfect timing as we did not have to wake up too early!
Because we wanted our guests to enjoy the day as much as we did, we were a little nervous about ensuring that everything went as planned. There was a nerve wrecking moment prior to our solemnisation. We had planned for it to be done outdoors in Shangri-La Hotel’s Banyan Deck and just before our solemnisation commenced, it rained! I prayed for the rain to stop and thankfully, it did 15 minutes later.
Everyone looked like they had lots of fun at the wedding! Share with us some special moments that were especially memorable for you.
There were plenty of memorable moments! I have to say it was when my parents put on the wedding veil for me. My mother got a little emotional and that made me (and my entire family) cry! And of course, our solemnisation. Exchanging our personalised vows was such a heartfelt moment for both of us. I teared when Vernon read his vows to me and when I read mine to him.
Oh, and last but not least, when Vernon’s colleagues at 987FM went on stage and sang along to our wedding video! It was hilarious!
