I am not too sure if you are going to be using a dryer or not but i just post some difference for you to consider in the future if you are going to be buying a dryer in the future.
Spun at 1000rpm residual moisture is 60%. If u use a dryer it would need 89 minutes in dryer and using approx 3.3kwh of electricity
Spun at 1200rpm residual moisture is 53%. If u use a dryer it would need 81 minutes in dryer and using approx 3.0 kwh of electricity
Spun at 1400rpm residual moisture is 50%. If you use a dryer it would need 78 minutes in the dryer and using approx 2.85kwh of electricity.
A 150 rpm difference below the 1000rpm mark if i could estimate.. it should be with residual moisture of about 65% ? and that would translate to maybe closer to 4kwh of electricity?
I mean if you do intend to get a dryer then this would be a great consideration.

I shouldn't think so though. But most european are concentrating on 7kg washers in the market at this moment for front loads. And as for smaller loads. They may have but very few model. Hence they might not put it on display given the size display area they have. For the 6.5kg. Imm best I think has on display whereas the 10741 its exclusive model to harvey norman. So you might want to pop by harvey norman stores to see the display.

2)With a seperate temperature knob means each cycle has more temperature range that can be selected. as compared to the fixed temperature range for the respective cycles.
but the 10741 has the timer. which will allow to see how long is the wash and countdown.
For me both washing feature as well as the timer is important. so i leave it to you

i like the auto program to have a high drying load capacity so that the clothes can be set to wash and dry throughout the night.
for electrolux and samsung, the max load for auto program is only 3.5 kg. Lower than LG's 4 kg load.
bosch's advertised max load is already 3.5 kg. not sure if it is for timed drying or auto drying.
there is also a space constraint. for example, i cant fit samsung wd8122 & lg wd-1210.

The 8 kg washer is excellent. Though the stains programme is something that you wouldnt normally use. But its good to have nonetheless. THe washing quality can quite match those of miele. only real difference is the quality of materials used. Its a real quiet performer even at max spin speed with full load. U can barely hear it from the hall if its spinning in the kitchen. i especially like the eco-perfect option.

They test run the machines to run at 60 degrees cotton with full load. Non-stop one cycle after another back to back for 10400hours or 5200 cycles to mimic its usage over a 20 year period
Calculated as 52 week with 5 washes each week and each washing cycle lasting 2 hours. but back to back.
Miele's construction is also very solid. U can check their durability testing online on youtube to find out. Their doors are meant to swing shut and it should be able to withstand the same number of open and shut durability testing before they carry the miele badge.
As for the Active steam. I see very little use for it myself personally. It can be used to refresh clothes so called to de-wrinkle it or to clean up those dry cleaning. but i would use a DIY dry cleaning kit for that purpose.
Plus i use a lot of the dryer so i usually spin at maximum spin speed once more after the final spin to drain more water and also i look for lowest consumption

Hi ridz, I'm currently deciding between Bosch WAE24360SG - $1099 comes with free bosch vacuum cleaner and Electrolux EWF1073 - $1169 free $100 giant voucher or EWF10751 - $999 free $70 choice voucher(should be). Any views on it? Won't be purchasing a dryer and thinks that 7kg would be enough for 2pax usage. Went to courts and this saleslady told us that Bosch's not so good as when the door is closed, its still wide enough to put a finger in thus the water may leaked out, and some of her customers have complained.
I went back and check out my mum's old bosch model, realised the gap is really big but there was no water leakage throughout the 5 yrs she has been using it though.

That's really hard to prove. But judging on the amount of money that you are going to spend vs the qualit of the product that you are getting then I would say the was24444me

No worries. Btw my parents r using the 28444me and I think its comparable in terms of wash quality with my miele. Build quality a notch down as compared to the miele- they use much better quality material and design.
For the WAS models I can vouch for their machines. Its impressive. Cos of their eco-silence drive and variosoft drum.
Just the motor alone - the eco silence drive is already wau better than their standard motor.
I've had experience with their normal motor. Was so so similar to electrolux and brandt but once u experience eco silence then its in the likes of miele's. Though reliability not yet confirmed. Haha

Hi all
Is top liquid detergent (low suds) safe to use for front load machines? The guy at Harvey Norman recc top or tide, I can't remember! So I bought 2 bottles of top & now am not sure if it will spoil the machine.
Also if I use persil powder, how much powder do I need to use for a 7kg full load?

Hi all, i really like bosch german machines (miele is beyond my budget!) shoping around, I was offered a display piece bosch waS28444me at slightly over 1100, but they are only giving 1 yr warranty instead of 2 ... would it be a gd idea?
Fyi I saw at courts online that this model goes for 1499, but am not sure if there is stk. A few hdb electronics store hv been unable to quote me cos discontinued

Unfortunately there is no right or wrong answers to this question. Where is that piece from?are you able to purchase extended warranty for that?
1) Well if you think a higher spin speed is better and can forgo additional year of coverage then go for it cos of its ridiculous price.the initial warranty is 1 year but its upgraded to 2 of late. Other manufacturers are still giving 1 year except for electrolux if I'm not wrong 2 years also. And its like they are giving a ridiculous 3 month or 6 months. But do check for any exclusions. Some of the display units they do have exclusions sometimes.

Received the Bosch was28444 already and am very happy with it. Expected Bosch performance but even more silent n stable build than my previous Poland made Bosch. The 1400rpm spin was good for my baby's linens which came out almost dry... cutting time in dryer by half.
I'm no expert, I only had experience w limited brands - LG, samsung, whirlpool which my relations had n my own previous Bosch but I can say no regrets getting another Bosch.
All that being said- any suggestions on anyone buying old machines? I hv to clear my 6 yr old Bosch wfl1200 6.5kg washer.

The sales person said Bosch is using touch screen, so sometimes may be too sensitive, or sometimes it doesnt work, is it true?
Does using a front load machine really need to go for the full cycle of one hr plus? I used to use F&P machine. I only use the quick wash which get the clothes done in about half hr. Perfectly alright... and smells great!

I need some advice on washer/dryer. I have space constrain and am thinking of getting a slim washer cum dryer.
I have a fam of 2 adults and 3 children (5-9yo, school
uniforms, daily clothes, pajamas). Pls give me some advice which machine is reliable, so far i only heard of Thomson 6/3kg and Brandt 8/4kg.
My expectations of the machine/s:
1) reliable and durable
2) can wash clothes clean (I prefer 'front load' technology)
3) must have 'delicate/handwash' function coz I simply hate to handwash. I need a machine I can wash any types of clothings.
I used to use Bosch. I love it, it is 8 yo still working with 1 time repair on it's 4-5th year.
If no top load ( w front load technology) is good enough I can sacrifice other spaces for normal sized (60cm width) washer/dryer, but very reluctant to do so. Thanks.
