The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

Just had my wedding lunch on Sat and I must say everyone gave positive feedback on the food. We had the Chinese menu and requested for more sharks fin during the food tasting and on the AD, all my guest commented that they had lots of sharkfins in their soup, and overall the food was excellent! No regrets with the decision to hold my wedding there.

My coordinator is Priscilia and she is fantastic, patient and understanding. No problems dealing with her.
Had my tea ceremony on the rooftop garden followed by reception, then solemnization in the straits room followed by lunch. All my guests were happy which makes me even happier to know that all my efforts paid off.
Must say that I had to immediately settle the bill when all my guest left. I had to tell them to come back later when we were ready and they kinda understood what I meant.
Upgraded my wedding favors to the toiletries and every single guest took it home!
 


Hi i'm still scouting around for possible wedding venues and am considering fullerton or amara sanctuary. Anyone has any comments for both? thanks
 
Can I check with you gals who had already held your wedding at fullerton or going to hold, if you did not hire a live band but just play background music, did you all play mp3s from your laptop? Not sure if this is allowed but fullerton has very limited songs selection. Will have to buy original cds then.

Hi does any1 have photos of their wedding banquet at Straits Room (Fullerton Hotel) to share? The few that I saw make the rm look really dark...
 
Hi Yanli, so far the experience has been good. He replies to the emails promptly. I find him fairly straight forward, he will tell us what are the additional perks that can be given or if it can't be given, what the additional cost will be like. I think it's important to know what you want, or if you would rather give up something in the package (like favours) to get more of something else.

A side point, he was running a tad late while meeting us because he was held up by weddings/another couple. I'm not a stickler for punctuality, but some people may be and this may not go down too well with them.

Though my big day is only next year, so thus far I've only signed the contract with them, haven't begun the actual liaising work yet.
 
hi yyiling, thanks for the info! i've just begun liaising with him only.. met once and 2-3 email correspondences. So far, he is quite prompt. he follows up with phone call after replying my email. Hope all goes well!

helo all, am a fullerton 2012 btb. anyone have any experience with their live feed and sound systems? My coordinator told me that if you wanna sing on your wedding, their sound system may not be that good. Is that realli true?
 
hi all, anyone has any experience in the corkage charges for wine? Or increase of parking coupons and invitation cards.. successful?
 
rolrol, you'll have to ask your coordinator. It is possible. I got an increase in invites and carpark coupons. They wont' be able to waive all corkage for you, but for limited bottles.
 
yyiling.. Thanks so much! Ya I think their very strict.. Tried asking my coordinator but seems very limited. How much corkage charges did you eventually manage to lower? Yup my say increase parking but not cards.. Maybe I dont need that many? Not sure though haha..

rolrol, didn't manage to lower the corkage charge but managed to get it waived for 10+ bottles. For invites I think 70% should be okay? If we're inviting relatives, it's usually one card per family of 2-4 pax or more, so not as many invites needed.
 
i got 70% for cards. according to the coordinator, 70% more than sufficient. For cockage, managed to have it waived for several bottles only. i think fullerton's proposal and coordinators are very upfront. They will be very frank with what they can give and what they can't.

Jo_bride the wedding fair perks is an additional option during cocktail reception and also 60% printing for wedding invitations. And for the ppl worried about the food, during the cocktail reception during the wedding show most of the food are really good! I tried the foie gras with rice, Peking duck, suckling pig, scallops, wasabi prawns, cod fish and the lychee and mango  martini I must say I do rate the food and drinks at least a 85%? the 1st tooth pick of foie gras I ate was yummy! But the last piece of foie gras I ate was cold & dry but I do believe it is because they mass cooked them for the occasion thus the food standard's drop at the end. The scallops n suckling pig n Peking duck was really nice! Mayo prawns were ok. O ya there was a seafood soup there that was not bad too but the soup base can still be improved. But I'm still giving such high scores coz the after lingering taste n thoughts of the food and drinks were still good despite all the waiting during the wedding show, the food kindof made up for it. Heh. 

The new garden theme they have is pretty cute but I didn't really like it but my AD would be on Dec 2012 thus I'm still praying for my dream theme by then! :D
 
Hello all! Im a BTB in Fullerton next November too!

Coordinator is Ignatius and yes, he is very straight forward.. Auto increase invitation cards/parking, corkage waiver and give perks that he can, if cannot means really cannot..

The 3 new themes are quite limited too.. Oriental is definitely out for me, way too traditional and colour is pretty loud, mixture of red+blue.. Garden is sweet but abit too malay? Hehe.. I would prefer the Dazzling theme.. More princess! I can drop you an email if you would like to have a look at the themes..

duckieyazi - for next year sep to dec, all Saturdays are taken except 24 nov (that was 2 weeks back).. Act fast!! =)

yvette (yali) - my friend had her wedding in Fullerton on 9/9/11 and commented that service and food was excellent.. bridal suite was fabulous!

Hi all, my wedding is Feb 2012 and my coordinator is Ignatius. So far, not too bad experience, he has been prompt in matters, I think its what that counts. Have a waiver off corkage fee as I gave up the door gifts. they are pretty strict on the perks! I like the dazzling theme as well!
 
Leah, you gave up the wedding favors? the lotion/shampoo? yes, super strict.. no way for negotiation.. haha..

i have booked my venue at fullerton straits room! love it very much~ looking forward to dec 2012

i dont like the themes that were showcase. hope they will have better themes next yr if not i will create my own. hahahhaa
 
I booked mine in the Ballroom for 3 Nov 2012.. Can't wait!! Hahaha!

Ya me too, I will go with dazzling if no new themes next year.. I didn't go for the wedding show, saw the pdf file only, so its not the actual too!

Yvette! Mine would be on Dec 2012 too and I was thinking of straits room too as the room is so pretty! But just couldn't compromise on guest list or doing it for 2 days therefore taking the ballroom.
We can countdown together hehe

Do you all have any AD photographers and videographers to recommend? I have not signed up for any bridal studio too.. have not got the time to search for the ideal one...

maybe think of seating plans? and places to go for pre wedding shoot?

I've signed up my BS too! N my AD PG is included in the package hvn confirm to get which VG yet. Seating arrangement agar agar planned but coz it's still pretty far away can only agar for now as there would surely be changes by then. Outdoor photoshops thought of 3 places that means something to us le. Now really can only slowly wait n countdown >.< but thanks for the suggestions tho
