Does anyone know, need to pay for all the songs I choose for my wedding banquet to be played at the ballroom? My friend have her wedding at other venue, she never heard of such thing. Can anybody please advise?

I had my banquet dinner at Fullerton in Sept. During which, I downloaded the songs from CDs that I bought, onto my iPad & there was no issue, everything went on very well..

Hi Angela,

We were told to pay $5k as deposit & the rest upon checking out the following day after wedding banquet.

I'm having my banquet dinner next year at Mandarin Oriental, they are also charging a music licensing fee for playing your own compilation CDs (i.e. containing the downloaded songs you've picked). If you have the original CD no need to pay this fee. But the event manager at the hotel me told me that usually they "close one eye" on this rule =P

Hi,

Would like to know if anyone has any comments about Wendy Ng? I just booked my banquet with Fullerton hotel and she will be my coordinator. Please email me at [email protected] about the coordinator. Also, I was asked to pay a deposit of $8k... Thanks!

Hi,

We are planning to book a venue for our wedding this Nov. We are going to decide between Four Season Crescent room and Fullerton Strait room. Would like to hear your opinions on these two venues?

I have attached quotations for your reference!

I am interested in Fullerton Hotel as well but am concern about the quality of the food. Anyone have any information on the food? So far the reviews are 50-50.

Thanks :)

Hi JasmineKee,

I had my wedding dinner last Sept at the Straits Room. The food was superb & our guests were extremely happy about it. In fact, I have guests who gave feedback that Fullerton's food quality was much better in comparison to St Regis's..

Hello all BTBs!

Am trying to housekeep the pages that I have bookmarked previously and chance upon this page. Would love to share my experience since this is what BTBs would always like to hear/know!

I had my wedding back in November 2012, in the Ballroom. Coordinator was Wendy Ng and I would say she's superb! We committed our dinner with a previous coordinator in August 2011 and he left in mid of 2012.

We signed for the standard package and of course tried negotiating for some freebies, all I can say is they all pretty straight forward, all I got was 2 additional meeting rooms during AD for tea ceremony and another for sword bearers' changing. I managed to nego for an anniversary dining voucher of $200, which initially I was pushing for anniversary stay. Lastly, additional VIP parking lots. Haha.

The previous coordinator also threw in the promo they had for wedding show, which we didn't attend and suppose to be over. That consists of Martini Cocktail and Canapes or Macaroons during cocktail, which I think originally we can only choose 1 out of 3, now we got 2. Printing of invitation cards was also included under the wedding show perks. Miscellaneous standard stuff they would 'upgrade' will be additional complimentary corkage, invitation cards, food tasting for 10 instead of 8 and parking coupons.

As for their service, I was really grateful that they assisted with my last minute ROM ceremony, which was around 3 weeks before the date. They managed to get a function room for us and have them set up nicely, without any additional charges at all - which I think they usually charge a fee for doing it on a separate day. For this ROM, Priscilla was the one who assisted and at the same time we were introduced to Wendy, who will be taking over our 'account' since then. We were about 5 months away from our AD then.

Wendy was really helpful and patient towards all my request - I admit I am quite a fussy bride, or maybe I will say most brides are fussy since we do not want anything to go wrong. I requested for additional cards, requested to trade the FOC wine per table to additional barrel of beer, increased additional corkage, etc and all these was granted even after the contract was signed a year ago. I even requested to customise my wedding favour and she made arrangements for me to do so in the hotel, which definitely requires additional effort since they will have to set aside these customised one for my AD.

My AD went really smooth, was really thankful for that, except that it started a little late for a Saturday dinner, around 8.40pm. We ended the morning session and the hotel actually called us at 2pm asking if we are heading over soon, I told them we are on the way and I didn't expect the front desk manager on duty together with 2 other staffs was standing at the main entrance waiting for our arrival. To my understanding, most of my friends didn't have such a 'service' provided to them. We got off the car, the bell boys assisted with my gowns and barangs, and we were led to our room directly, instead of the usual checking-in at the main lobby.

To my surprise, Wendy was there in the evening, assisting us and making sure that everything is in order (montage, arrangements etc) and she didn't leave till after my cocktail, which I thought was quite late since the wedding coordinator don't usually appear on AD, banquet manger is the one who will assist on AD. I remember I was STILL making changes to table arrangements during cocktail since there is a handful of last minute appearing/disappearing guests. The tough part about planning for table arrangement for Fullerton is because of its individual serving, which we can't easily slot someone in if that guest is to bring a partner along. We have to reshuffle the whole seating arrangement.

Don't worry about the stairs!! That was one of my biggest concern back then too, especially I wanted a long train-ed gown. Be slow and steady and all will be good - their stairs is one of their 'uniqueness' too. I remember asking if any brides had trip while marching-in. Haha!

Food wise, I have mixed reviews. For aunties, they typically commented it was okay but not worth the price. For friends, we received very good feedbacks for the herbal duck and Foie Gras rice from quite a handful of them. There was even a couple who went back to Jade a few months later for their fried rice, which I thought was really surprising.

Lastly for payment, we were told to settle the bill immediately after the dinner (just in case we 'run away' in the middle of the night). It was almost midnight then. Although it was pretty late, I was happy that they did not rush out the last few dishes, everything was still in an orderly manner.

Alright I just realise I am writing a story. I shall end here and hope this helps a little! Good luck to all and happy planning!! =)

My wedding was in December 2013 and Wendy Ng was my coordinator. Although I find her a bit robotic and emotionless, she's responds quickly to emails and has handled all my wedding requests e.g. timing, arrival of vendor setup, table arrangement, exchnage of perks, etc. without any hiccups.

Don't worry too much, you are in good hands with Wendy as your coordinator. :)

The food quality for my wedding at The Fullerton Hotel was good. However, do note that you can't please every guest with food because everyone has a different taste bud. Some like it salty, some like it sweet. Others may like gravy or more dry. Generally speaking, I think Fullerton Hotel offers high quality of wedding feast compared to other hotels and take reviews on food quality with a pinch of salt (pun intended) because it's really subjective. :)

Hi all,

Has anyone gotten Violet Ng as their wedding coordinator? Mine was previously Wendy but she just broke the news that she would be resigning and Violet will be taking over. :(

So how is she? I mean is she new or experienced wedding coordinator? Would it be easy to negotiate for things with her? Though Wendy was abit cold and emotionless at times, she is really responsible and responds quickly to mails. Many things I requested would also get through easily. I'm already so near the wedding date... Hope all will go smoothly with Violette being my wedding coordinator.

Hi xiaominz, Violette is my coordinator. Her service has been impeccable so far. Judging by her prompt replies and willingness to negotiate, I would like to think that she is an experienced wedding coordinator. We actually met with Wendy once, but our experience with her was just awful. We got a flat "no" for every request we made, but this could be because she already had another couple with a tentative booking for the date we wanted. It almost made us strike Fullerton off the list, but we decided to give it one more chance and got Violette the second time. Violette has been very accommodating to my requests, I'm sure it'll be a smooth journey with her as your coordinator. :)

Hello all

I just had my wedding done over at Fullerton. Wendy Lim was my co-ordinator but Violette took over a week before my wedding. Both of them were great; They responded fast and it was a breeze for me throughout the 3 months of planning, and the actual day itself went well too. :) As for food, most of the reviews are good. Overall I am very happy that I chose Fullerton Hotel. 2 thumbs up for their service!

Hello, i am also considering to held my wedding lunch at Straits Room for 8 to 10 tables. Still cannot decide between Nassim Room at Regent Hotel Or Straits room at Fullerton.
Anyone have recent feedback on their lunch?

I saw Nassim Room, it was quite nicely decorated except that the ceiling was a bit low. Not sure if the perks are better at Fullerton coz Regent doesn't have much perks for Nassim Room.

I emailed Fullerton asking for package list, and whether they have any upcoming roadshows.
They replied asking for our names and date of wedding, and didn't state whether they have any roadshows.

Fullerton doesn't showcase their packages unless the information of the groom and bride is known to them. Perhaps due they are trying to cater on the basis on the number of guests?

I don't think they do roadshows, but anyway their minimum no of tables is sort of fixed but they can customise an upgrade menu to meet the minimum number.

Their last wedding fair was 3yrs ago as they have been busy enough that there wasn't a need for it.

And they have different rooms catering to different number of tables.

Boardroom - min 5 tables, max 6 tables
The Straits Room - min 8 tables, max 12 tables
Ballroom - would be min 25/35 tables depending on weekday/weekend, lunch/dinner.

hi, I decided to sign up with Straits room fullerton. But I have not negotiated for any perk yet. What kind of perks can we get? I heard music must be played from original CD. is it true? If like that, what if we want to play different songs from many CDs? is there any bride recently held wedding at Straits room. Please kindly share more information. If we choose their standard theme, do we need to pay extra? Thanks in advance.

I just had food tasting session for my wedding at The Fullerton Hotel, Straits Room.
My food tasting session was at "Jade restaurant" with normal restaurant table setting. It is not even in the function room only our family.
To my knowledge, food tasting session not simply free meal. It is also to evaluate and feel the actual day environment including full table setup and tasting of food.
Based on weddingtweet.com post, "Your hotel wedding coordinator or banquet manager will usually be present to discuss the dishes with you"

My Coordinator was Ms. Wendy Lim and she didn't even show up on the day. She just simply instructed us to go to Jade restaurant and have dinner there which I think is ridiculous. Fullerton is 6 stars hotel and the service they have given to us was shocking to us.
I have been to food tasting session at Fullerton Hotel last time for my friend's wedding and my company event, it was in the seperate function room and served by banquet staffs and attended by Banquet Captain. The coordinator leaded us to the room and presented at the end of the tasting session.

Was any one of your food tasting at Jade Restaurant? In the Jade restaurant without proper table setting as actual day?
I have requested to change my coordinator and now it's Ms.Violette. However, she needs to try hard to build up my trust for Fulleton Hotel's standard of service.
I hope my actual day in January wouldn't go wrong.
