I attended their wedding show earlier this year and they were offering:-

1)1 bottle of wine per table
2) Free cake
3) 8 hours of Bentley use
4) 2 nights stay in a suite with breakfast or supper
5) Spa treatment for 2

Tables cost around $1600++/table of 10 for weekends.
Not sure if the perks are still valid now.

Ritz charges around the same but St Regis had better menu with a whole piece of sharkfin's and abalone.

Unfortunately, I had suffered patchy service from St Regis. They took forever to reply my emails and they didn't even answer some of my questions.

Ritz also gave me a free room for solemnisation. St Regis wanted to charge me $3000 for an hour use of the poolside room. So in the end, I went with Ritz instead.

Hey Carebearz, you got any other details about their package? My friend's getting married next year and she lives in Japan so I'm helping her source for some nice places here to have wedding. She was interested in St Regis because they seem to have better quality stuff, but patchy service don't sound so good leh...

Hi verie,

The details I've posted were only valid if you signed up during the wedding show. Not sure if they are still valid now. UOB card members get 10% discount if they booked during the show and held their wedding by 2009. For 2010 weddings booked during the show, UOB cardmembers get 5% discount.

They have different menus for different days of the week. At the wedding show, they served the weekend menu which was priced around $1600++/table.

It came with:-
Cold dish
Sharkfins
Abalone
Steamed fish
Olive rice
Dessert
(can't remember what's the other dish)

Min 35 tables, if I remember correctly.

The initial service I got from them were really rude and curt. They took forever to answer my emails and when they did answer my emails, they didn't even answer some of my questions directly. I asked about A and they answered me B. In the end, I gave up and went with Ritz.

Even at the wedding show, they seemed to pick and choose the potentials. We were there in very casual clothes and were unable to get assistance till we had to seek out a manager who arranged for someone to talk to us.

But at Ritz, we went there in tees & shorts, we were still attended to promptly.

I just had my wedding at Ritz and am glad to say I never regretted it. Everything was perfect and when we had some last minute changes to the programme, Ritz was quick to accomodate to our changes. And their post-wedding service was heaven. They sent up a strawberry tree with chocolate sauce with lots of sandwiches, enough to feed 10 people! And their catering manger noticed that during my wedding, we played a photo montage which showed that I love everything English. So he took the initiative and arranged for a complimentary English hi-tea for us the next day.

And everyone had raves about Ritz food even from some guests who had previously attended Ritz's weddings before and had said their food was average. Thank goodness, the food was up to standard on my wedding day.

My guests also praised the service but the food distribution was a little uneven though. Some guests had bigger portions than others. I had specifically requested for English speaking staff as I had overseas guests and the majority of the staff on my wedding were local.

Can someone share their experience at the St Regis with me, particularly on who they dealt with & any additional perks that you manage to negotiate?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Wow Carebearz your wedding at ritz sounds amazing, the service is fab! The high tea and strawberry cake thing impressed me! I must tell my friend about ritz, but ritz provides everything except invitations right? Do they give favours?

Tks for the info, very appreciated.

Hi AY (swanage)

Just wondering if you got any feedback on the st regis package? I'm also considering having my banquet at st regis and would like to know what inclusions can be negotiated for.

Thanks!

I am interested in holding my banquet at st regis probably early next year. While doing research on the net, i realised that the wedding show for this year was held in may. Since i have missed the wedding show, will there be a lot of differences in the perks offered if i enquire about the packages with them now? Did anybody sign up with them during this yr's wedding show? If yes, could you kindly share with me what are the perks?

Does anyone have any pics of the St Regis wedding fair? Heard their white and purple flower settings were gorgeous. Btw anyone knows where to get a monogram design like the one vernetta Lopez did for her St regis wedding? It was so nice!

Hi

My name is Jarls from Singapore and I am an undergraduate at a Hospitality Management school in Switzerland. For my undergraduate dissertation, I am looking at the negotiation behaviour of prospective wedding couples looking to hold their wedding banquet at 5-star hotels in Singapore.

Your response is kindly appreciated and will aid in the completion of my paper.

This survey will take up 15-20 minutes of your time.

Thank you.

Hi,

Ive been looking at regis for my wedding next yr, but the service has been really bad. Emails take forever and ive waited 2 wks since i first met up with a catering exec, and i havent seen the ballroom. they say they will call, but never do. seems like they pick and choose who they want as their customers.. will prob be looking at other venues now! disappointing cuz it is a very nice hotel!

Hi Chez,

I think you have to call them up. I called them last week for an appointment and manage to view the ballroom and discuss the package 2 days back.

You can look for Adrian. His response is quite fast.

I love the ballroom. The ceiling is really high. Around 8 meters.

The min capacity for sat dinner is 40 tables but I don't have that many so. They will charge a markup of at least 20% for each table if the min can't hit 40. So that works out to be around $2,300 nett which is way too expensive!!!

Anyway, if you can meet the min table requirement, I think it is a very nice place for wedding since the ballroom looks so grand!

I've got my wedding in March this year. Nice/grand ballroom with super high ceiling. You will definitely be amaze with the ballroom once you see them. You can even use a mega table for the VIP table. - 20 seaters. Cool ! I even got full of praise for the food from guests. All food are served individually plated. The flowers display are left on the tables all night, leaving the guests all night to admire them…. No regrets.

Hi All!

Has anyone been to a wedding dinner at St. Regis recently? We have shortlisted this as one of the hotels for our wedding next year, but we are really concerned over the food they serve. The one thing that attracted us is that every guest will be served individually, so they don't exactly have to do a self-service.

I sincerely hope to receive some honest feedback here

Just attended a wedding at St Regis recently.

The good: Ballroom looks lovely with beautiful chandeliers and high ceiling, no pillars, centre pieces classy, food individually served, 2 big screens that is adequately large, stage size appropriate with good sound system, L shaped walk-in allows you to see all the tables.

The bad: reception area cramped and small, food was awful and not fresh ( especially the scallops and prawns), food serving was slow ( at 10pm, only at 3rd dish, many guests left without eating the rest, remaining guests left feeling really hungry), service poor ( had to specifically ask for refills of soft drinks), insufficient parking coupons for guests.
2 tables were placed directly under the screens, guests had to get up and stand amongst the other tables during the video/ photo montage screening.
Sauce tray was spilled on an empty seat that a guest had vacated, the seat was not removed and changed, instead, several napkins placed over the stain for the rest of the night.

In general, not a great experience for the guest, but I guess the more important part in sharing the happy occasion with the couple.

I was a bridesmaid to my friend's wedding 2 years ago. Lavish settings and extremely presentable and the ambience was really perfect! Will be shortlisting St Regis for my wedding banquet but I guess its too soon to be requesting for a quote for my wedding which is set to take place in 2015... My friend told me she was very pleased with the wedding co-ordinator at St. Regis, which to me, is very important because we are placing such an important day in their hands. I'm not too sure about the other weddings because I only had 3 friends who had held their weddings there.

On a side note, I didn't seem to encounter what Lady Windermere had experienced. So I guess its more of an isolated incident... My other friend who had gotten married in Dec last year sang praises of their service and she had even nominated them for some wedding accolade event recently. That's how good there are, at least, based on my friends' personal experiences :)

The situation lady Windermere encountered are "quite surprise". I held my wedding there before and most of the arrangement is controlled by the couple.
1) food service - u can instruct the kitchen how fast/slow to serve the dish
2) parking coupon - given out as a % of the total guest. It's the same % when I compared with 3 other hotel. So maybe there's too many guest that's driving, else it shouldn't be insufficient.
3)reception area too small - I beg to differ. In fact I hired a pianist to play on the grand piano at the reception area. & there's still loads of space to move around. Unless all the guest arrived early & cramp there, but unlikely as sporrans like to be late.
4) table under the screen - these are decide by the couple. I believe they have misjudged.
5) slow in service - I believed its isolated to the assigned server.
6)awful food - I don't know how to comment. Mine was great. All the guest even praised the bird nest desert !!

Hi ladies! I'm now considering St Regis for my wedding banquet as I am unable to meet Shang's 600pax min for weekend wedding.
Can anyone please share their reviews of the place!! How was the coordinator? How was the service and the food?
This thread has been quiet for so long :(

Hi i just had my wedding at St Regis in Oct and it was really great! I had so many compliments about how classy the venue was, and great food also! Didn't receive any complaints about service so guess it was ok. My coordinator was awesome and she really made the prep work easy and organized. Most importantly she was there on the actual day to make sure everything fell into place so I could just chill and enjoy the day. They also provide a wedding butler - mine was so helpful and sweet, anticipating my needs by providing small touches like bringing me honey lemon drink or bedroom slippers when I was tired from wearing heels, all without me asking!

good to hear that :) who's ur coordinator?

Hi Earthangel, kindly share who your coordinator was! In fact, I'm quite worried about the carpark space? It seems really small and I've heard reviews of cars being jammed up in the driveway of the hotel, trying to enter the carpark.

I've booked my AD with Regis for next year, and was told that we should indicate alternative parking at Tanglin Shopping Centre which is across the road.
