Hi all, I had just held my wedding dinner last saturday night (22 Oct 05) at the Marriott, and it was a great success! The banquet supervisor, Christine, was very meticulous (even my helpers on that day praised her for her professionalism) and my wedding co-ordinator, Yiwen, displayed a lot of understanding and flexibility. Re some complaints about Marriott not responding promptly, I did not have such unpleasant experience, in fact, they did respond to my requests and queries in a timely fashion and if Yiwen happened not to be around, her colleague Michelle was around to help take down a message or to answer my queries.
The prices that Marriott charges for their weekend dinner packages is definitely one of the highest around (based on my research, perhaps second only to Ritz Carlton), but the food and service are excellent and first-class. Marriott may not be as opulent-looking as some other venues, but has understated elegance and class. Because it is less commonly used by wedding couples for their wedding dinners (many guests actually mentioned that this is the first time they have attended a function at the Marriott), you can be assured of a higher turn-out by the guests as many of them would be curious! Most importantly, my guests had a wonderful time and many of them actually gave very good feedback.
I would highly recommend Marriott to new couples.

When i went for the styleweddings show last mth, i am surprised that Angela can still remember me by name after abt 8 mths since i last confirmed my contract with her. I am impressed by the description of the new themes that Marriott has and am really looking forward to discussing with them on my wedding nearer my wedding date next yr!

Coincidentally..I shared the same experience as you. Me too went to the stylwedding bash and my co-ordinator Stephine still remember me and even my AD date as since I last spoke to her in Apr. hahaa, I was too kinda of surprised and of cos impressed with their professionalism and services especially every day they hv so many enquiries and handles so many couples somemore. You like their new themes too...!! Very nice themes and the lightings display are really great.

Same here! Angela also remembered my AD date cos she said that my date is so popular, many ppl enquired though its a wk day. Yeah! like their new themes, especially red raphsody! But too bad they didn't feature how the table setting is like and no pics.. only play music and listen to description to visualise on our own.

Hi 5!
I like the red raphsophy too! Oh actually they did feature the various table settings for the new themes with different flowers etc (including the Garden of Love theme)in one of the function rooms on level 2 where all the BS promotion booths are.

I juz had my wedding dinner held at Marriott Hotel on 5th sept 05. As for my comments, i give a thumb up for their services and food. Really worth the $ spent with them.
My guest also feel that the atmosphere before the dinner start were cosy. Attached is the pic of the ballroom (Vineyard) theme for some of your references.

noticed you had two projector screen and its beside the stage.. first time seeing that actually, cos usually in the last weddings i went at marriot, its always screening against the wall where the guests table are... hence guests sitting there wont be able to see the montage.
Did you manage to get 2 projector screens or u paid for it?

I just attended a wedding dinner on Wed.
My friend had around 30 tables in the ballroom and it was very spacious.
For food wise... it's quite okie... the fish is very fresh...

just had our wedding lunch on Tues, 1 Nov. It was really a great one. The banquet manager, Stan was meticulous and attentive. Always checking if we are ok, sending us honey lemon drinks.. Coordinator, Christine was friendly and helpful.
The AV coordination was great. As we had our holy matrimony there just before the lunch, they knew exactly when to do what.
All went all, food was quite ok too.

I had my wedding dinner at marriott in may. I never ever emailed them but always contacted the coordinator by phone. Had no problems. And all the guests liked the food too. Think it was a great dinner! My friends liked the wedding cake too, though it was a dummy but it was beautiful, not like the usual facko wedding cake.

I had the projector screen against the wall too. This screen is bigger than the one beside the stage. Actually, they have two of these bigger screens. The other one is on the opposite wall. So if you have two of these, all the guests can see very clearly. And no, I didn't top up for using two screens.
And just to share,
For the dry ice effect, they actually use the smoke machine and if you want effect all the way down the aisle, like walking in mist, you must get your own dry ice. Otherwise, you will only get smoke behind you and the dreamy effect is not there.

my wedding date shall be on 28 sep lunar 8th mth.
but if yiwen able to offer a free table for every 11th table, i may re-consider the wedding date. The price they have quoted for wkday dinner after aug is more expensive. any other tips for negotitation ? thanks!
