Vios, if you can help Lya you are no stranger. If you want to give her a negative comment, you would be an alien to her and so you should just shut up and bug off.

Got it?

What kind of EQ??

If you can only handle support but not detractions, don't pour out your issues on a public forum. Confide in a friend instead. If you can't handle controversies, don't be a controversy yourself.

Littlewoman,

I dont want a whole bunch of relatives coming in.. am kinda not prepared with the sudden wedding! Well, marriage, yes, but wedding is coming too sudden, lol.. So, I may choose to stay with the minimum pax the hotel may offer.. That's my stand though, gotta confirm what HTB wants.. Am doing my research before giving him the collection... Preferably hotels instead of restaurant as we wanna do the thali tying too.. wont be too appropriate in a restaurant.. Thank you...

Lya: I see... what are ur budgets like? U might look through the various functions rooms of hotels after u conclude the nos. of tables and budget for the overall wedding...

Littlewoman,

I have spoken to Holiday Inn Atrium.. they offer indian menu at $70 per pax.. My guests may not appreciate the other menus that would come at a better price too thus gotta take this one instead.. I might be looking at 30-40 pax.. Im waiting for the event planner to send me some photos of the function room and so would be able to visualize too.. Next would be discussing with HTB.. Hope he's ok with it.. Has anyone used them before? How do you think their function rooms are? Any comments on them and what are other hotels you may recommend?

no problem, Lya... as long as u are willing to open up new perspectives. don't mind me, i'd copy and paste again:

life is a long journey - u can't be expecting only positives - in fact, the negatives will indirectly assist if u can make the most out of it.
it applies to friends as well. and trust me, u should beware of ppl like kenturik in real-life. that's my final piece in here.

Thanks for the advice vios.. I believe it is true... But I seriously think you're too harsh towards Kenturik.. whats with you 2?

lya,

to be fair to doll, she has posted informative stuff before also, esp on those regarding lawyers/divorce cases/selling of flats etc.

perhaps both of you should take a step backwards and refrain from slandering each other again else there will be no end to it.

live and let live

True Thomas,

I believe its getting somewhat personal than open comments in here.. Mind it I dont know who the heck this lady is! It all started from a thread sometime back and we got argumentative and I guess since than she cant stand the sight of my nick anywhere.. she comes tramping in and throwing her weight around.. I think it's kinda clear that I dont initiate sparks with her without being pushed...

Lya: I attended the wedding show in Holiday Inn before. The function room isn't to my liking to the pillars blockage etc.. But I am sure the coordinators will provide better advices on this issue...

Is grand copthorne the one next to Zouk? If it is, I attended my friend's wedding at their ballroom 3 yrs back... Not a bad place...

I fully agree with sgbabydoll on this sentence.

My wife had 2 abortions before we married. We tried for 3 yrs to have a baby, but suffered 2 miscarriages within 6wks gestation. We were horribly sad and my wife even blamed herself for the previous abortion.

Fortunately, she is able to conceive again on the 4th year. We were so happy when my son delivered last year. My pov is, to be able to conceive and able to carry your pregnancy to full term is 2 diff thing.

No offense.

===================================================
A mismarriage or abortion is like a childbirth. It depletes a woman's physical resources.

Rofthelper,

You're scaring me now.. I hope I dont have to go through the same pain as your wife.. Hope she's healthy and well now and even ready for baby no2! Thanks though and anyway, whichever was to happen, we cant control anything now since its done. Have to see what the future holds. Thanks..

Hi Lya, scaring you is definitely not on my mind. Since you have found a temporarily place to live in. Try and enjoy your new marriage first. The rest just take things at a time.

Take care.

Lya, u could refer to e topics on wedding preps to get more info on hotels n their reviews.

Btw, doll did offer some v good suggestions to us. Rather than taking on e defensive approach n deem her comments as personal attacks (which she has absolutely no reason to), suggest u look at her comments as someone coming from a different perspective. We may like to think tt we know everything but we dun. It's pple like doll who will remind us of e parts tt we may hv missed out in our considerations.

Also, dun offer too much info if u dun wan pple to comment on them.

Basically, if you can't take comments.. don't post.. you can't ask people to be selective.. and only comment on what you like to hear.

Eh.....since you are not comfort to discuss on the topic, let's move on..............

The idea of indian Cuisine rather interesting instead of the usual Chinese dinner.
Have you consider the rooftop of SIA Sea Sport Centre? It's windy with serene ambience. Occsionally there's planes buzzing past and there's also playgrounds to entertain the kids.

My cousin in law herld her wedding there and they have ordered Indian Cuisine, it's v nice!
They served nice spicy fried rice, tandoori Chicken, a prata like pastry with cheese in the middle and some other dishes with nice dishes and not too spicy. One of the nicest Indian Cusine that i've ever tried and the rooftop ambience is great for savouring the food and sipping wine!

Lya, I thinks there are alot of hotels with different themes and settings to choose from. Esp. for the coming tiger year, can foresee lesser ADs as compared to last year.

Rgds.

Hey, we have decided on the 27th this month, wow thats only another 22 days more to go! haha Im running wild. I have zoomed into Intercontinental Hotel.. they have international and north indian buffet spread.. kinda fusion. I love their ballroom, very beautiful.. Their perks are good too. Am just revising the last bit of their package and then am set on taking them.. Any experience with Intercontinental anyone?

Hmm.. just curious, what's with the tiger year? Anything inauspicious or something? You know what, me and HTB are both born in the tiger year(12yrs age difference) and we are getting married in the tiger year! Haha... the tiger theme!

Hmm Roft, we have to follow certain auspicious timing so the evening works best. And we have tentatively filed the notice of marriage stating details based on dinner at Intercontinental.. Now I hope my revised package fits in well so that a big headache is off my head.. Now to the minor details...

Well, some chinese families abit "pang tang" for weddings during year of tiger. Actually, it's depend on individuals. Nothing inauspicious lah, just another year for me.

2 tigers living together huh? Try a tiger cub loh.

My little "wedding present" for both of you, my son, Rylan. keke.

Hmm, you wanna present us your son huh, can be wo him anot? Nevermind, keep your son,I dont mind something monetary though ....

Sorry Inn,

Just saw your post.. No, I will not be wearing a gown, as we had intially planned to do our wedding in a temple wedding hall, we had done our shopping before and I got this exquisite saree from Stylemart.. same to HTB but he got a kurta, dhoti set.. since we are not gonna have the temple wedding after all, we would be wearing that at the hotel.. I cant wait, it's full of stoneworks as I love bling and with the lighting and stuff, it's gonna dazzle away!

I bought them 2 wks ago when I shopped at Amk Hub basement 1. It cost $15 per set.

Besides these two, they have beetle & winnie the pooh.

I got one son only, is enuff liao. hehe. He's 3mth old.

Haha Roft, where did you get those outfits from! Your babies are so cute! How old are they?

Roft, tks for sharing! He's such a little darling! I like these little suits as well. I brought the similar type but it's barney suit for my ger as well..heehee...

You staying in amk too? I always go AMK hub too.

Lya, sounds great and unique! I had always fantasize about wearing a saree for my 2nd march in but not daring enough to do so and I never realised what hadI been missing until I saw Fann Wong's white saree with gold trims on her big day!

I have always like Indian culture especially on the hairdo and blings. "The plait down hair style with the earrings and the hand henna" cool~~

Inn, you should try it! And did Fann Wong wear a saree? I didnt know that, didnt bother much bout their wedding fever though, lol. Mine is red with cream and lots of stonework.. Yea it can look really exquisite and grandeur if done up the right way.. I cant wait! My MUA is one of the popular ones and I cant wait to be done up by her, trust it to be good work..

My wedding was 6 years ago and that time i sticked to the gowns and chinese "kwa" but then on & off, I will use some Indian inspired accessories to match my outfit as some form of "compensation"
lol.gif

I saw from the I magazine on some of their wedding shots in Maldive with Fann wearing the saree and some musician natives posing in the background. Nice~

Cream is a very nice colour and with the stoneworks! You will be a ravishing bride..no wonder you are so excited on the big day, nice hotel, food and gown!

Roft, I have been staying in AMK since 9yo!~ My parents hse, parents in law and my own house are in AMK! All walking distance with each other and I am staying in AMK Ave 3 now undergoing upgrading, it's so dusty with little privacy with upgrading work all over the place.

Are you staying near Ave 10? If so, you can go to the nearby "Hong Mao" supermarket to buy milk powder. It's alot cheaper than buying in Ntuc.

Hee your baobei is very cute! Does he look more like you or your wife?

It seems like all our kids are born in Dec? My ger was born in Dectoo.

Cant wait to see Lya's gown *saliva drooling*
