koala: yea hehe.u having lunch too? so far have finalised the VG, guest lists etc. I RSVP in June. Have u RSVP? today going for gown selection for PS. have u done with ur PS? mine is in Sep

Laetitia: Not yet. may have a chat with the new coordinator (when the hotel has make the arrangement)
 
Laetitia: Not selected yet but most prolly will be going for something simple like jazz = )

Elsa: We are having dinner... we booked the hotel in April 2008 haha... PS also in September ! now waiting for our suit/gown to be completed coz we went ala carte = )

just for info, i called the hotel in the morning and there was a nice lady on the phone assuring me that by tomorrow, they will call the 'affected' couples...

Laetitia: dun be too upset. Heard that Jane left becos of family matters - She tendered her resignation on Friday and left on the same day requesting for early release.
 
elsa: yeah haa... we booked earlier as we were in and out of the country often. so we reckon it would be good if we booked earlier. As for PS, not too sure about the venue yet as we are still thinking about a suitable theme = )
 
the birdnest soup got a very rich stock taste, some may not like it but the crabmeat is chunky & nice! however, we'll be choosing the traditional shark's fin...

Elsa: Have u been informed of your new coordinator? Mine will be Eunice Tan. Hopefully no compromise on their already excellent service standards
 
Hi Sweetiepie, I know how you feel. Well, Jane assured me she will be here for my wedding too when I signed with her end last year. Love her to bits, but well, can't be help when things happen especially when it is family related.

Elsa - you RSVP in June? That is so fast. I have not RSVP and my wedding is in Nov.... I better start soon I guess.

Koala - you also went ala carte? Same as me. heehee... Where are you getting your gowns from? Have you booked your AD photographer and videographer?

Herman - you know your new coordinator already? How is she like?

ANyone else know their new coordinator already?
 
Hi Laetitia, we were only informed of her name & contact, have not met up with her yet so could not comment on anything. But according to that email, she'll be contacting us soon

Btw, anyone from Regent engaging live band for the banquet?
 
I am thinking of engaging live band. But i heard regent do not provide sound system / instrument ? Have you checked with your coordinator? They are chargeable i think.
 
Sweetiepie - I think Regent sound system is pretty good in the ballroom and able to support sound. I heard the sound system in other rooms are not as good. So have to check on that if you are not using the ballroom.

Koala - Wow. Michelle Huimin is good. She is quite high end though. Love Avenue 8 too. which photographer from Avenue 8 doing your wedding?

Hi Sweetiepie, Regent do not supply the sound system & u can only tapped on their PA system & 3 wired mics. They have no issue with us getting live band, these have been checked with my former coordinator. Btw, addiction mics are charged at $100/pc

Laetitia: Yes, I have engaged a 4-pc band for my wedding thus may have to get extra mics for them.

Hi Herman - wow a 4 piece band? which means need 4 mic? is 4 piece band 1 or 2 singers? Sorry for the ignorance. Which band did you engage?

Have any of your confirm your guest number with Regent too?
 
Laetitia: my 4-pc got no singer, consist of Guitar, Bass Guitar, Sax & Drum. They actually requested for 5-mics but I'm trying for 4.

Herman - no singer? So you mean they just play songs without singing?

Laetitia: They'll juz be playing jazz music(2x45mins) & also a title for my march-in. Fyi, if u r using Regent's main ballroom, you can also utilise the grand piano outside at the recept area for free but provide your own pianist.

how's ur PS>? which location did you go? U took live band too? I wanted to initially but mine is at Tanglin room. If engage band a bit cramped..

Laetitia: yea, got to RSVP early cos mine is 26 DEc.. ppl planned holiday one mah. + i worked in a US MNC with many expats..so no choice..
 
those not contacted should approach the management asap or maybe yur AD still long tat's why they settle those with a nearer AD first.

Elsa: we went Marina Barrage for our PS coz we bought a beautiful heart-shape red kite, en-route there we went St Andrew Cathedral for a few shots then a hill behind Hort Park. They got a swing on tree there. Rest were in the studio...
 
Herman - I will give them till end of this week to contact us. My wedding in nov wor... so how come still not contacted?

I just went for gown selection this noon for PS and also finalize the PS location...will be doing 2 outdoor locations & rest in the studio...pretty excited..hehe :p

Laetitia: I reckon there are quite a number of us here under Jane that's why take a bit of time ya..

happened to come across this thread and saw some of ur concerns regarding other coordinators at Regent. I'm also having my dinner at Regent this December and my coordinator is Eunice. So far so good. She's very prompt in replying emails but there are times when she's unable to reply emails so soon. I'm still able to get her if I call her direct line. So no worries..
 
by the way, I just engaged 3-pc live band for my dinner at Tanglin room too. Asked my coordinator about it and she mentioned that Tanglin room sound system is not able to support the music instruments and singing, so we rented sound system from the band instead, including microphones
 
We meet up with Eunice & Natalie(we are assigned to Natalie now) last week to decide on invite templates & favours.

Hi k_jsmn, can I know how much extra to rent the sound system from your band?
 
Herman> I paid $400 extra for them to bring in everything they need. So won't need the hotel to provide the band with any equipment.
 
hi folks,

we requested for eunice to be our wedding coordinator and the management was extremely swift to accede to our request. we got 50 tables and really need a very experienced coordinator else i think we will go bonkers that night !

though we are sure she has a lot of other couples under her wing now, she is very prompt and responsive to our queries. kudos !

we are meeting her on September 14th to talk about wedding favours, templates and such.

in a nutshell, really glad to have her = )

now, to finalise the details of our honeymoon... and thanks to krisflyer, our tixs are 'free' ! wohoo ! yet another sum of money saved !! = P
 
hi all..

its something i really still cant figure- copyrights for the music on that day.

can someone clarify

1) photo montage- we need to apply for a licence from rips at approx $96.++ and we can use up to 5 songs for it.

2) the morning express highlights- the music copyrights shld be handled by my videographer.

3) live band- apply licence from compass for their performing rights at $200/ or $100.

4) how about playing background music and march in songs for the 2 scenerios

a) we bring original cds- and just play. Eunice mentioned it is fine with this. as long as we have cds.

b) how about songs we buy from nokia music and we paid for their copyrights- how to prove and can we also treat it like "cds" and just bring the transaction receipt along?

I asked Eunice abt the copyright issue for live band. She said that it is a private function, so no issue with copyright. Its more of an issue with photo/video montage.

I am going to hold my AD at Regent too = )

However, did anyone of u manage to get any extra perks? or are all the perks given in the wedding package thing?

No extra perks for me. But i need advice on the decor. Are the flowers for the decor enough? I don't wamt those that is just a few in a bunch. And pinkscrump, have you seen the actual setup? I haven't cos this happens to the 7th month so no weddings.

Anyone know if Regent does outdoor (pool or garden) solemnisation?

N also, any of their small ballrooms (about 15 tables) is those kind with windows? so that natural light can come in?
