yours a dinner or lunch ? how many tables did you guys go for ?

Hi Koala, thanks! My planner is Joanna & mine's a dinner on a Friday. We booked 30 tables(the min. requirement) though we probably only need 28. =p

My coordinator is also Jane. Love her to bits. She has been very helpful and accommodating to our needs and requests.

Mine's Joanne. I'll be arranging with her to preview the actual setup of different themes, anyone's AD coming soon so maybe we can popped in to have a preview?

Herman - what do you mean preview the actual setup of the different theme? Do you mean they set up all the tables of the VIPs and guests for you to look? What about the aisle and stage?
Do you have any idea which theme you like yet?

Hi Laetitia, specifically for me to look at but for a real wedding, that way we could visualise the whole effect of the theme & venue then juz looking at the brochures & catalogues.

I have not chosen my theme but I think there's a golden theme which i quite like.

If i'm not wrong, Regent has got one of the most themes to choose from.

Hihi....wow... December 26th? Cool. We were considering that date, but then most of our friends will be away on christmas holiday, so we settle for Nov 6th instead.

How is your planning coming along? have you chosen your wedding gown? Photographer/videographer etc?

jazz is nice too. it has the simple, elegant look. I quite like the winter theme. The rest like le amour, is a bit OTT. Do not like the hot pink sash they use. I had seen a couple use that but change the table cloth to white. It is just too tacky and too much.

Hi Management of The Regent,

do you have a piano within your premises, which could be moved into the ballroom for a wedding purpose? I would like to have my piano teacher play a march-in for my wedding. It need not be a grand piano, a normal and in good condition piano would be good enough.

I had set the date for the food tasting on a sat and was told that all hotel do not provide food tasting on weekend and no exception case. Is it true? Because i had explain why i need it to be on a weekday and had also indicate that the timing is flexible for me but was still rejected by my co-ordinator. Need to check if it is possible to get a food tasting session on weekend for Regent hotel?

Hi Ann, according to my co-ordinator Jane, we did check with her prior to our signing of contract, she did tell me the food tasting will be on a weekday. The restaurant probably need to cater to possible wedding events since weekends are more popular days for weddings

What?! what happened to all the Js? My initial coordinate was Joanne & she left, passing us to Jane & we have yet to meet Jane...now Jane left also. Funny thing is that we were at the Wedding Show last Sat & wasn't informed about Jane leaving...

Herman: You are there? i was there too. I signed up much earlier and Jane got me a complimentary entry. I was expecting to see Jane * when I specially asked for her. I was told she resigned on friday and requested for early release due to family matters. So its rather sudden.

It's a pity she left cos she was great. Following up throughout, answering all my queries promptly etc.

Elsa: Yup, was there on complimentary entry too. Supposed to meet her there to update her what we have been agreed upon with Joanne. Yah, we have also heard great reviews about her. So any news who is taking over your banquet arrangement? We could be in the dark if not for this forum. When's your AD? Mine's early Nov so it's kinda worrying...

Herman: no news yet on who taking over. Likely it's becos it happen just last friday, pretty sudden i guess. But i will send an email to the management. Mine is 26 Dec, although still have 4 mths but It's better to take the 1st move than wait for them right?

Elsa: yes of coz...it's pretty scary to think that noone is looking after your wedding banquet...

So how u find the new themes? We like that one featured in the main ballroom. And if u did go up to level 3 Nassim Rm, that'll be our 2nd choice. And I think the food prepared last Sat is great.

Herman: we like the theme in the ballroom too.but dun really like the theme in the tanglin room. and we took 2 pictures in the ballroom (actually not allowed. only realised when the banquet manager stop us). Btw what's the theme in the nassim room? Yup, i agree the food was great. Jane highly recommended their food too

Jane left?? How come? I signed with her because she gave her assurance that she will still be with Regent next year and not leave! sign.... Not informed by the management as well.. Hope they give us coordinators that will stay throughout...

Jane was the best, hence many of us were with her. So sad and must be alarming to many brides.

Elsa - I think many brides are now very disappointed to know Jane had left and concern about who will be taking over our weddings now. However, I guess Regent will not let their couples down.

Maybe other brides who has others for their coordinator can share their experiences with them.
