Hi sweet pea,

I've tried to ask but the Regent guys refused to disclose the name and contact.

I think they would only reveal the info to you if you sign up the banquet package with Regent

Hi,

We attended the Regent Wedding Show in April and still wondering whether to sign up with them because we are quite dismay by the way they handled the Lucky draw during the wedding show - so discrete and un-transparent. Btw, anyone knows have they announced the winner of Grand Lucky Draw?

Anyway, we find it a Great Venue and ambience for our Big day but still considering..... thks

hi novice
i did consider them, but thier location is not so accessiable...
walking quite a distance from MRT and we have to go down the slope...unless your guest are all driving.

Hi all, just viewed Regent Hotel ballroom today. think the overall feeling is good. Just that there are 2 pillars.. but it's still ok i would think. choosing between Marina Mandarin and Regent. Regent is not that accessible but the things they offer are better.. any suggestions or comments??

Hi trish,

I had my ROM in Regent 2 months ago... All my guests praised Regent for their food. Though I was having a buffet lunch, I am sure they are as good for dinner. I have been going back there a couple of times for tea buffet and dinner since my ROM.

Hi Chinoiserie

Had my wedding in Regent in Nov 06 and never regretted it since. I find that one advantage of Regent is that they have an exclusive carpark (2 basements!) as opposed to Marina Mandarin which shares with Oriental hotel and other shopping centres. This is crucial espcially if your wedding is going to be held on a weekend. A lot of times a wedding dinner will start late because guests have to search for parking lots.

One thing to note about Regent is their car park system. They were still using the old ticket parking system and it jammed during my wedding dinner, resulting in my guests taking at least 10 minutes to leave the car park. Hope they have already changed their parking system.

seems like Regent is a good choice after all.

have requested for the coordinator to call me whenever a different theme is used. my HTB and me would like to see the actual set up before making our choices. btw, how many months before the AD should we start having our photoshoot? and should i already be starting to source for a BS? my AD will be may next year.

Hi trish, for me my AD is in Oct, my photoshoot is in June. Some brides have it earlier even. Was thinking maybe u could do it during Christmas when all decorations are up- would have colourful pictures? Just nice ard 5mths. For BS,if $ is not an issue, u can take your time. But to warn you, prices always increase as time goes by...so u get wat i mean. Dunno if beating the GST will help now. But most imptly find the BS u are really satisfied with based on reviews you read about.

Hi I was a regent bride too, last year. Just logged in to check out the thread. Our experience was beautiful ... loved it. Book early and decide on your theme later. We took the Chinois theme and the musicians were great!

We took our pix about 3-4 month before the wedding. Give the PS time to develop and design your album.

Hey Diana,

Regent do play burnt CDs but you must sign an indemnity form.

Someone from the hotel will be in-charge and that person will be stationed in an enclosed AV room. We can't see him from the ballroom.

Hi Cloudz7, that's what my coordinator said also. In the end, I bought original CDs to play instead.

Yes! Mine was similar to Jazz theme.

Yup! What a coincidence! Now I realize you are Ling's friend! =D

Hi all

I burnt a CD for mine. I think it's quite ok as long as you have a copy of the original.

Flora, of course it is possible to have a rehearsal. Generally you do it in the hours before the dinner.

Sigh cannot find the CD Inspire by Lea Salonga...dunno if hotel can move in the piano into the banquet hall so that my friends can make music live for my march in.

Hee Paulineda, Ling and i were ex collagues, but we both quit the firm. mi piano teacher now. Played for wedding receptions b4, Ling was there.

Hi everyone,

I just had my wedding dinner at the Regent last Saturday and it was a marvellous evening!

Everything went smoothly from the planning to execution stages. Everyone at Regent took great pains and effort to make sure we really enjoyed our night and my wife and I certainly have very fond memories of that night so if u are sitting on the fence wondering whether to take up their package, by all means please do so...

FYI, my coordinator was Denise and my banquet captain was Helmi that night. It might be different for different couples but i think Regent really prides itself on having high service standards.

Most importantly of all, many of my guests commented that they enjoyed the food, which is rare for hotel banquets

Oh and i also had an additional photographer for dinner and he could take your picture and print out your pictures right away to keep. A lot of my guests literally went hunting for this photographer. His name is Josh by the way.

Special mention also to my videographer Ah Wai, who was experienced, patient and excellent in his delivery of shots...

Venue: Regent Hotel of course...
Day and Night Photographer: Simon (shop is in Bedok South)
Live Photographer: Josh from DestinyStar
Videographer: Ah Wai aka Takeshi (he does resemble the Japanese star by the way)
Pre-wedding Photographer: Tuckys (very nice and original shooting ideas and style)
Bridal: Emanuel B Couture

Hi all,

The Live Photographer is Josh Swu from DestinyStar. His contact is 97484388. It is also possible to project the pictures onto the ballroom screen if you like so guests can see themselves and others during the dinner but i did not do that.

The Videographer was very reasonable compared to others but more importantly, his work and work attitude is great!

I think it is best you ask him directly for the rates as he might have revised since the time i booked his services. His contact is 98527026 and his name is Ah Wai.

Hi All, have you guys dealt with this girl called micheala? is she ok? i have emailed to the hotel and she emailed me bk. i was thinking to arrange a day to go down and take a look at the ballrooms. BTW, have all all the threads above, was wondering how did you guys settle the problem of not having this hotel near the MRT? did anyone get the hotel to try to negotiate to have a hotel bus/van to pick up guests from the nearest MRT?

junegroom

Hi Jamie,

I do not think the hotel will arrange such a transport service, trust me..i think maybe can try negotiating for other things instead.

I think your guests would not want to wait for a shuttle bus when they are all dressed up. Most likely they will take a cab so no need to worry abt that
