hi jacinth,

i chose the pacific ballroom..we're hoping that our guestlist won't exceed 60 tables..i'm quite worried about space constraints. goos to hear that they are working on the lights...white lighting just doesn't seem too evening and romantic...and hopefully that will be done before my wedding this dec.

how about you? i signed up in end 2008...so my per table rate was still 1088++

Hi Jasmine,

I am considering the ocean ballroom which was 998++ last year. Seem like they have different pricing for the 2 ballrooms.

I went to peep a wedding dinner at pacific ballroom and they have multi lightings which i am veri impressed as it is veri much different compared to other hotels with only dim lights. They are mentioning that they will change to the same lightings for the ocean ballroom this year and more themes will be coming up. Hav u seen the themes already?

Dunno if I should walk in to sign or go for the wedding show? Wonder will the price be different or any price adjustments since financial crisis now.. haha!

They sent me the package.. as 1028 nett for the big ballroom, and 968 nett for the ocean ballroom. Which i felt was quite worth it.

Hi Pearl Chin & Jasmine,

The new weekend package price is $1028nett, did you manage to ask your corrdinator to offer you this new package price or lower package price than 1088++ instead or offer other additional perks to you ???

I also signed with Pan Pac last Oct for weekend package price for $1088++ . Its kind of unfair for those people like us to sign early with Pan Pac. Moreover its a sudden drop of $250plus per table. So much ....

Hi Happy,

I think its very difficult to get coordinator to offer us this new package. Have you tried? What additional perks can we get? A few more nights stay at Pan Pac? More lunches at Hai Tien Lou? Hmmmmm....

Hi,

I'm thinking of signing from Pan Pac as well. My AD will most probably be next year July. Is there any difference in the food or perks given for the 2 different packages? An additional of $250++ per table is alot..

Hi Pearl,

I have not done anytin. Have you tried asking more perks from them ??? Dun you think that we are paying way too much difference from those who sign with Pan Pac recently. So unfair

Hi Happy,

I will try asking but I really dunno what to ask for? Free flow of beer? But then again...my guests are also not drinking much as its a Sunday. Yah....its unfair....but what to do? I can only console myself that I managed to get a year end date cos when I asked for dates last November, the saturdays were fully taken up, so I settled for a Sunday.

Hi all,

Personally I find it very unfair too...cuz I also signed up pretty early..but let's all think it in a positive way, at least, we have gotten the ballroom for the auspicious date that we want

Hi all brides to be, I am reading with digusted and infuriation after going through all the posting. Same as all of u, I was a bride to be that was once very keen to choose pan pac as my wedding venue. However in year 08, when I checked out with pan pac the rates for yr end 09, the total price amounted to almost $1400/- per table! So much I wanted to have my wedding venue to be hold at pan pac, I asked for perks at the wedding show but nothing could be extended to me and the sales coordinator even confidently guaranteed that the price for 09 will only go up and NOT down. All these were really fabricated! Prices have dropped tremendously and early BTB who booked pan pac are instead at a losing advantage!

How can a five star hotel easily lowered their prices just like that! There are sincere couples who clinched a date so early and yet they are being penalised in such a way. If any BTBs feel unfair in any way, is good to voice out the unhappiness or despondency to the hotel! Fight for things to be done! Just my two cents worth

Hi Peacelover, i think its impossible to lower our banquet rates. Basically, I think we can just ask to get extra perks. But seriously, the perks are really nothing.... and we are already bound to the contract.. Was also told that the banquet prices will go up and not down before..you are also a year end bride?

Hi Peace_lover,

I am year 09 bride too. I also signed with Pan Pac early year 08. Likewise I was also told by the coordinator that Pan Pac will not lower their banquet prices in 2009 even with the recession Singapore will face for the next few years. Banquets prices might go up instead due to the increase of costs. We tot it was lucky that we signed early with Pan Pac. But its a big disappointment.

From what I saw in forum, the current offered banquets prices suddenly dropped by so much. The NETT banquets prices currently offers by Pan Pac for the SAME packages we are getting, are EVEN CHEAPER THAN our banquests prices BEFORE adding the SERVICES CHARGES & G.S.T. Its true that we got the good dates when we booked early with the hotel. But I still think that it is unfair to us as it is always the fact that a couple will get the goods date when they book early with the any hotel. This applied to any other purchases. Moreover we committed with a 6K deposit. We paid for our confirmation.

Also couples like us already worry that chances of us breakeven the cost of our banquet from guests' Hong Bao is very high due to current recession.

Imagine if our guests who are also enquiring the banquets prices with Pan Pac, will think that our banquets per table is worth at the CURRENT banquet prices offer by the hotel, their Hong Bao will definite be a difference.

We dun even tot of earning from the Hong Bao given the current recession. We only hope to breakeven or make some loss. But now given such suituation, we will expect to loss quite alot in the end. Sighzzzz

Happy, is the weekend banquet rate really revised down to $1028? is it nett or with taxes ++? omg, i booked the Dazzle menu package at 1088++ for sunday dinner.

hold on, did i see that the new prices are NETT? that's so unfair...i'm definitely sending my lawyer to them if that's the case...i think it's our every right to fight for what's fair.

Hi Jasmine,

The weekend banquet rate is confirmed $1028 NETT. Jerry + Kelly got the latest package price from Pan Pac which is 1028NETT for Wkend Wedding Dinner at Pacific Ballroom. If not you can ask your coordinator to clarify.

The difference for our Dazzle menu package is about 250plus per table. Its definite a big difference if you have more than 35 tables.

Difference by so much. And our coordinator can still said that they will definitely not lower their wedding package when we ask them before we confirmed with them. How can a 5-Stars Hotel just drop their prices by so much within a short period of time??? Such action cannot be justify!

Other 5 Stars hotels such as Riz Carlton, Shangrila, Conrad, Sheraton etc also dun drop their prices so much in short period of them. From my understanding, their will try to give more perks but they do not reduce so much of their per table prices to attract business

Hi Jas,

Opps maybe I made a mistake. Did you sign up for the fair

Pertaining to the price difference, I also feel that its very unfair and how can a 5 star hotel drop their prices so much...

So Jas, did you try calling the coordinator and demand for an explanation?

Hi gals,

I sent Linda a msg and she called me back this evening...I think I already made it very clear that I'm not going to make do with some extra mini perks. She explained that what's left from 2009 are leftover dates, maybe not so auspicious for many couples...I replied that no matter what date, we're all still going to get the same stuff...but at significantly higher prices. She said she will try to work sthg out and get back to me asap.

I am really upset too. Since i'm expecting min. 50 tables, that's a minimum difference of 10+grand for us. plus, what will relatives and friends think when they hear of this? People can do basic maths...1028/10pax = approx $100 per head..well, that's what many folkswill do after all. Times are already bad enough...with this piece of news, many are sure to give even smaller hongbao. dun misunderstand me, i wasn't even thinking about profiting from banquet...I only wanna break even..but with the lower nett prices, i'm expecting a bigger loss!!! My father is saying this is such a loss of face.

Plus, this promo extends way up to first quarter of 2010...i really cannot stomach this!!! Any advice on what I should do? My mum's saying this is a happy affair after all..so if you bring up a lawsuit, it won't be so good...what other options do we have?

Have you girls called up your coordinators? If nothing works out at the end of the day, I'm thinking of gathering a handful of you girls to go down personally and negotiate with them. I guess the general approach that pan pac is likely would be to try to brush us off with some extra perks. but think further, it's not just a difference in per table pricing...it can affect the banquet loss.
