The deposit is $6000 and have to pay 50% 1 month before the wedding dinner? Not quite a norm practice for other hotels right? Will it be quite tough for the couple to manage the 50% as most couples will only be able to cover using the ang bao $$ collected? And actually I am looking at 35-38 tables cost

hi.. i'm quite new here! i will be meeting xueling tmr to discuss about the wedding banquet but hearing about the 50% pre-payment a month before the dinner... i'm kinda worried... cos most couples would be devoting the savings elsewhere and would use the hongbao money to meet the cost... ultra-sian.. i'm wondering if we could negotiate for a lower percentage or even remove the clause..???

Hi everyone
happy.gif

just wondering if anyone has pictures/links to share on Pan Pac wedding themes?

Does anyone also know if the Ocean Ballroom has only one standard (orange) lighting even during the wedding banquet itself?

I love the lighting and general ambience at Pacific Ballroom, but the capacity is too big for my guest list. Would have to consider Ocean Ballroom, but am just concerned about the lighting and its decor.

Yes like Catherine and calumon, I'd appreciate it very much if someone could share pictures (or links) of Ocean Ballroom too! Kindly PM me or email [email protected].

Thanks very much, appreciate it lots!

Just went down to talk to the sales coordinator of Pan Pac.

Was looking at 50-60 tables. She offered us the Pacific ballroom. It would be an L-shape march in.
1 projector and additional one will have additional charge. ALthough there wasn't any pillar but the ceiling is not high.

The deposit was 6k, 50% paid 1 month before the wedding, balance before checkout the next day.
No free room for helper. Was also told that there would be additional 100dollars per table for weddings held after August 08. Thus, the nett price i got per table was very close to 1.4k

The price is enuff to make me opt for other alternatives. So sad that it's beyond my budget to hold at pan pac. If hold, sure lose alot of money.

due to the F1, almost all hotels have increased their price after this aug...

shanni, better for you to get the latest quote and menu from panpac. the ocean ballroom is smaller and the pacific ballroom is bigger. i would think the pacific ballroom is much nicer than the ocean ballroom.

pan pacific orchard is the former negara hotel. i went there before when it was still negara and it wasn't too impressive. but i think they are doing some reno to the hotel now so it might be diff.

Hi Nigel

I don't think their wedding package is 1.4k per table..
i know it ranges from 700++ to 900++.
Should cost about 1200nett or 1300nett.

for me... i think pan pac's ceiling is consider quite high as compared to other 5 star hotels.

well, most important is.... you must really like the venue and make ur dream wedding come true

We held our wonderful wedding dinner in Pacific Ballroom on 08 Jun 08.

Every single guest has only good comments on the whole event!

Their service was excellent, 1 waiter per table. The food was fanastic, even the Muslim & Vegetarian menu won rave reviews from our guests.

The ballroom layout was an asset, rectangular with tables on both sides, long march-in aisle in the centre, we basked in an external of cheering during each march-in...

We received great support & service from our Catering Manager, Thomson, and Banquet Captain, Jason Chua.

Money well-spent!

doramee,

for 2 tables, i believe you can book in their chinese restuarant, Hai Tian Luo. They are the ones providing the food for the wedding banquet anyway.

Hi,

I will be holding my wedding in dec 09. Just wondering if any of the 2009 BTB holding their wedding at Pan Pac has chosen for their 2009 wedding themes?

Our dinner was held at Pacific ballroom on 12 Oct 08 total of 52 tables. The whole event is under control. Food and service is excellent! Two thumbs up!! After the dinner, everyone was praising about the food. Btw,they serve big portion of food. We have an unforgetable wedding dinner held at Pan Pacific Hotel. It was all worth it! My coordinator is Ivan Yew. Thanks for making our dinner a successful one

Are we on the right track, hot date = 20 Sept 09?
I am also considering that date, I will most likely be taking it up as my BTB really love the ballroom & food of Pan Pac. Will there be any room for negotiation?

yeah.. i was surprised when i call pan pac to check on the availability.. then she told sep 20 is free.. i guess it is the cost per table that really make ppl to think twice..

We were told by Ivan that there was a wedding at Pacific & Ocean ballroom yesterday (30/11/09). So naturally we went to take a look at the wedding themes (setup).

We were truly impressed by Pacific ballroom. The high ceiling makes it look grand. The large projector screen at the back of the ballroom makes it visible across the room. The lightings were also impressive. There were blue colored frosted glass like tiles on the short wall, flanking the projector screen (at the back) and the stage (at the front).

And as pointed out by quite a few brides here, the long march-in is great!

The floral arrangements were also very nice. The private floyer outside Pacific ballroom was also spacious. This is similar for Ocean ballroom.

However, the wedding setup at Ocean ballroom was disappointing. It was too plain. They had only white lights. The place was setup rather normally (kind of like normal meeting/function room).

There is still a decent distance march-in.

The main issue is that the setup is simply too plain for a wedding event.

Hi a1211, oh so do you mean the theme for next year is out

Who is your wedding coordinator. I will also be holding my wedding next yr.

hi a1211, who's your coordinator? is it just 1 theme or there're 2 to select from? was told that ocean ballroom will have programmable lightings (different colors) next year.

for those taking the dazzle/sparkle package, if you'd done your food tasting, could you share on your thoughts on the abalone?

was told that the size is actually very small, especially for their baby abalone, and if its sliced, then each guest gets only 1 slice.

Michelle, ahboy&ahbao: I just enquired on the themes available and my coordinator-Charlotte said that it will only be out next Jan-Feb. She is helpful and professional
happy.gif
Also, the portion of food given by Pan Pac is quite generous from what I have heard from friends. My only concerns will just be the floral arrangements & set up.

hi pearl: if u're taking dazzle/sparkle package, think you need to check on the abalone portion with your coordinator which i find it rather too little...
