hey hey, went FT yesterday with both family. so far so gd, the portion are big n food r really tasty! but 3 dish need to b replace as in-law dont really like it. hehe.. =P

Btw, anyone took up OCC in house banquet menu? How was it? Any feedbacks?
 
Hazel...if u intend to take up OCC inhouse banquet..do opt for the higher range cost menu...as that time i went for food tasting for middle range menu....it is an disappointment in display & the ingredents they used...in the end I switch to Peach Garden...
 
Thanks jasmine.. cos the co-ordinator told me she personally feel the food is almost same for both. But i doubt so since the price difference is quite alot.

How is the food & food presentation for peach garden?
 
For peach garden, overall is ok..most of our guest was satisfied with the food..except for the duck (nt cripsy) & fish (few of tables - got smell)...but of course peach garden is higher cost...
 
i think that FT and AD always different alot ba..

coz my FT prawns are big..but AD small..then AD fish also overcooked..

as long still can eat and presentable can already..coz too much tables also..

ppl will also 4get abt it dwn the road..haha..
 
in a way, you are right.. then again, the difference cannot be too huge ba.. if not, may feel "cheated" in a way.. hehehe..

saw that some of you all are just renting the occ ballroom and hiring outside caterer. May i know how much is the cost for renting the ballroom and hiring outside caterer individually? Thanks.
 
Hi bottles, my wedding is 1 mth ahead n im with Ivy currently. Met up with her once before our FT n phone coordination. So far everything we enquire n request hav no problem n no issue. She is a helpful n understanding lady, so no worry under her care. =)
 
hi purple twinklez, i got the 2009 rates as 2010 rates are not out at the time i signed but my banquet is in 2010, thus the rental of the ballroom for year 2009 is $390 + 17% for weekdays and $420 + 17% for weekends. I am not sure what is the rates for year 2010. Thus, in average it is about $500 per table for weekend, just for renting the ballroom. As for the food, we got from PinSi, for me, as my MIL is very particular about the food thus she customize the food and it costs more than the rental of ballroom. You should check out the current rates. =)
 
Hi All,

just had my wedding last week and I have to say that it was fantastic! My coordinator Karen last min on labor and Adim took over my wedding. I have never met Karen b4 and Adim only took over 2 weeks prior my wedding. He solve so many of my problems. Overall the service from Adim, Devan and the banquet staff are all A****. My aunt who is a restaurateur who had tasted the FT and actual day food even commented that the AD food was even better than the FT which is very rare for large events.

Considering we had 59 tables and only started at 8:30pm, we still managed to finish all table to table photos and even sat down for 4 courses plus entertaining our friends.

The deco was beautiful, chosen the flower heart one and even had a chandelier center piece in the cocktail function room. I was surprised to see the chandelier center piece as it comes with lights as well.

All in all thumbs up to OCC..esp Adim. Good Luck to the rest of OCC brides who are to be wed soon and may you have the most beautiful wedding at OCC
 
haha... juz went to OCC today for dinner at peach garden

wow.. for those who r having wedding from now till dec has extra decor to add to theirs...
coz the xmas decor brighten the lights at the stairway of the grand ballroom... quite nice indeed...
 
btw, christina... u chose OCC inhouse banquet or Peach Garden??

also, mind to share the pics of the chandelier centre pics in the cocktail function room? coz when I went up to the grand ballroom to take a peek at the wedding setup for today... didn't see the chandelier leh...

Strawberryger, I chose inhouse banquet using the old menu. Definitely never regret! During FT, we did comment on how to improve one or two dishes and they really carry out our recommendations!

With regards to the lights, I am not sure whether they will have it next year cause I did not even request for it. So it ws really a wonderful surprise from our coordinator! hehe

I would like my 40-seater bus to pick-up at city area but seems like couldn't find any realistic pick-up point whr is not congested on a Sun.

Can arrange the 40 seater bus to be @ city area (according to my SM). But only 1 trip available...

Was thinking tat since Yishun MRT already have the small shuttle vans picking up @ 10mins interval, might as well let the bus to pick-up @ a point whr the bus can serve the west-side ppl...

morning to all..

i read from TODAY that there are authorities clamping down on using copyrighted songs and musics during wedding banquets, and on the montage done up by the videographers or the photographers.. they are enforcing that the videographers and photographers pay a sum of money for the copyrights, and this amount will highly likely be pass to the couple...

anyone encountered such things before?

Yap, the food from Peach Garden are served by Peach Garden whereas the food from OCC banquet are served by their inhouse chef.

The menu & pricing differs too...
 
Hi, I'm thinking of booking OCC for my wedding next yr, checked out the rate at the website & saw that the in-house menu for wkend is only $608++... That's kinda within my budget!!

But is the food serve by in-house chef nice??

Saw the 2010 Peach Garden pricing, it's very ex, comparable to hotel rates..

Also, saw that some of you actually book the ballroom & use external catering, what does it mean??

Is it like buffet or sit-down dinner? How do OCC handle external catering request??

Sorry to ask so many qn, but I thot OCC is a really nice plc to hold a wedding...

i check that in order to book the ballroom, n use external catering, u need to pay extra levy minimum 40 tables lei.. think 470++ x 40 tables.. ( jus to use the ballrm)

but peach garden food quite gd thou... i also consider OCC / peach garden too..

the ballroom is huge, and there is a minimum of 40 tables, which only excludes the food. The external caterer will have to inform and speak to occ about it. in our case, the external caterer has had several business dealings with occ previously, so it will not be a problem for us. :P as for things like wedding gifts, occ has a few recommendations, and will be charged per piece. this is applicable to the stage and overall decor too. however, by all means you can source for your own wedding gifts and stylist to decor the stage and stuff.

ours is a sit-down dinner. i dunno so much about buffet though. hehe..

hi tabogal, the price which u saw from OCC webby is not latest update. pls refer to OCC sales directly for their pkg price base on ur require year of wedding.
OCC pkg come into 2 diff type, their in-house kitchen or by peach garden. i hav no idea if they r giving out pkg for using in-house kitchen as mine wedding falled on last Dec. n decided to took up in-house kitchen as to remain our actual pkg sign using previous chinese restaurant.

so it will b gd if u can contact them directly. =)

oh.. i mean i took up their ballroom pkg in yr 2008 which hav to follow their previous chinese restaurant menu (before peach garden set up in jun09). OCC offer 2 choices to us, either to take up Peach garden new menu which is fix dish or remain the dish we chose but cook by their banquet kitchen, finally we decide to stick back the old menu.
