We manage to find an available date in oct 2011 but kinda too long for us, duno if we shld tk or not... haiz...

cuz the geomancer dates that were given did not have a lot of saturdays in the 1st half of 2011..
 
Hi all. I am considering OCC for my AD banquet in 2011. We are looking around 70 tables. Read thru all the old post from late 2008 onwards, get really good info from here.
My parents in law is very particular about food, so we will be getting pin si for our banquet. As fiancée and me are overseas, can any OCC BTB/GTB or ex-bride/groom share their packge info and pictures with me? My email is [email protected]
Also, please kindly recommend any good MC, decoration provider, event coordinator and etc (if not provided by OCC)

i will be signing up OCC this weekend. met up with Ms Selina Ooi who provided me 2 menu (peach garden n inhouse cook)

any one can give me suggestion or feedback?

I heard they changing florist, so no chance to view any deco yet.

sorry! i hav not been logging in quiet sometime. me n hb prefer to remain the old dish which was set by earlier restaurant n during our food tasting n wedding was cook by inhouse. cos if taking peach garden we hav to stick to the menu which the restaurant had set whereby we cannot chose wat we want. n hb dont like the fish they using (he prefer sea fish).

during the food tasting most of the dish r okay, only few which in-law prefer to chg due to too salty. on our AD got few complaints of the fish n chicken, other dish r okay.

my in-law went to attend a wedding in March at OCC peach garden. according to her dish r nice but some r salty. but overall was nice. hope it is useful for u ya! =)

the captain is gd, but tik u shd preschedule n advance inform abt ur time table as mine came out abit messy cos im having extra animation.

feedback from guest, the waitress n waiter r gd. very prompt as not forget refiling n attending to table req.
 
how many EG u changed? where u change your Dress?

they proposed the small room beside the ballroom for me to change dress but no lock

hi hi..

met up with serene recently to select the invitation card design and wedding favors. she said that there are new designs arriving in july. also, they are looking at getting new florist for the flower decor, which should be finalized by july.

we found the playing cards interesting, though we are also sourcing for wedding favors too.

anyway, we chose the red invitation card.. hehehe.. just to source for a more exact quotation based on the size of the card.

any one know this occ provide canvas stand ? coz i ve the canvas photo,.. duno where to hang?
 
smilem, im having 3 outfits tat nite. rom dress, WG, EG. i chg at the bridal suite room, i tik easiler n can go toilet.

OCC can lend their canvas stand, i put up mine with 2 stand.

x1aoling, yup, most prob will do the buggy thing.. cuz it's so different from others!!

i haven met henry thou, so couldn't comment on him...

IMO, karen is really nice.. very helpful and accomodating since day 1..
 
today i just went down to recce the place and to talk abt the package. Henry mentioned that there are a total of 5 of them in the team. But so far Henry has been nice too. I guess all of them are professional in their work. I tell you all, i seriously love the Grand Ballroom. From the staircase up, to the pre-reception and to the long march-in...everything seems so majestic.
 
Yup, i bet they all are!!

Yeah!! That's the main reason why i wanted OCC as my banquet venue, very classical & victorian style!! Beautiful!!

tabogal: yup yup...indeed very nice....my bf say the pre-reception area is very grand, but he thinks the furnishing inside looks a little old...what do u think?? i told him dat's how renaissance/victorian suppose to look like....

Yaya = i signed up wif OCC but mine is in grandballroom.. it depend on the deco of the sapphire..

i only did a tentative booking on the date, havent signed up, cos my HTB likes the place... The ceiling kinda low... Happy with the perks and Helmy thou.. So still considering...

When's you big day??? so nice to take the ballroom, its lovely!!! jus too bad I only have a small group of 10-12 tables...
 
Hi Smilem, the usual package from the folder, nothing extra... the package seems to have covered almost everything we need except wines, so i aso duno wat else to ask for...

Hi all, can i ask if we are required to be members of the OCC in order to hole our banquet there?
Anyone has pics to share on the peach garden in OCC? My alternative is to hold it in the PG.
DO they allow catering from PG but using OCC ballroom?
Do they have minimal tables? Since we only have 20

is it possible to sit 11 pax in a dinner table? 11 pax consists of mostly adults and maybe a couple of children..

I'm having my banquet in OCC next year. You don't have to be a member of OCC to hold ur banquet there. But u might have to check with the banquet sales team on the ballroom since u onli have 20 tables. The min. no. of tables for e Grand Ballroom is 40 for weekend.
The food is cater by PG.
 
HI Piggy = Yes, they have 2 small rooms jz beside the main ballroom.. 20 table shld b ok.

u can chk wif the sales Ms Selina.. she very nice(i booked my banquet thru her) and helpful.

Gladys = ACtuali can nego on the grand ballroom, i booked my banquet next yr wif oli 35 tables using the grand ballroom too. :p

Ryan = I also Planned this way.. Difficult to seperate children n parents..

Felicia = u can call up Selina (the sales) and she can provide all info.
 
Yaya = ask for snacks during the reception. Tat wat i requested.. coz my solemization will be 1 hr before the dinner.. so i requested them to give FREE snack (actuali few plate oli)..

ANd ask for free stay overnite at OCC, even u dun stay, u can keep tat room for those drunken guest :p

Yes, i ve done my PS.. but ve no time to do selection ..hahha.. busy moving house

they really allow u to use e ballroom wif onli 35 tables? My coordinator is Karen but i'm not really comfortable wif her, dun knoe whether i shld change coordinator....
