Hi gals

I went down today NCQ to sign the agreement. Saw Bruce Almighty (she was beautiful) & bz taking pics...

overall NCQ is nice, cosy but one feedback is the ballroom is QUITE PLAIN, so i wonder shld we feedback to Novotel (e coordinator)?? Its is also time for them to do something abt their themes and i understand they only have 2 themes (seem very limited).

As we can see so many of us have already booked the place so they shld also do something for us as their customers RIGHT?? ha ha... its jus a comment of my own, wonder gt any supporters??

awaiting for yrs comments too..... TEAM OF SNOWOMAN!! hee hee

i've seen the crystal theme once before... and it looks not too bad...
u saw it in the phoenix ballroom today and it is quite plain? hmm.. how abt floral theme.. do u gals tink it is any better?

I've seen their phoenix ballroom twice...yes, have to agree abit plain, on the walls that is.

but the coordinator said there will be special lightings effect for the march-in..plus, they have high ceiling, so still look quite grand..

I went down to the ballroom yesterday with my florist, Michelle to view the ballroom and finalise on my ballroom deco. She also agreed that the ballroom, having high ceilings really makes the place look grand but also very bare. The whole feeling is very empty and rather cold. Esp when you look up and there's nothing to focus on....

I'm definitely using Michelle's services. How much the quote is depends very much on what you want to do and your budget. I'm working with a budget of about $800 so she'll quote within that. I'm having 8-10ft flower stands being brought in to create an arch along the aisle of the ballroom.

Having extra deco is a very personal thing, i guess. I was willing to make do with a slightly less expensive hotel because I wanted the extra budget to do up the ballroom the way I want it to look.

Stef, Michelle does excellent jobs for church decos. In fact, if you can go to her website to see, you'll see her works under 'feedback'. Her website is www.rentadeko.com (somehow the forum dun allow me to type out her co. name in full) PM me & i'll let u have the URL

Yesterday i went to see the ball room veri plain, yes i think they should do something to the ballroom....big crystal lights....

and i find the stage veri plain and can see the joining of the stage so i suggest they put a nice cloth over the stage.....

So I think i will suggest to Huiling. Please tell ur coordinator also....

i maybe dropping by again ano'r day to take a look at their deco.

maybe that day when i saw the crystal theme, didn't really see properly but i felt it looked quite alright.. plus, maybe coz that was cinnamon room? hehs..........

wow, thanks for all the support. Really appreciate all the comments tat is given. Yup we shld voice out in adv so tat the coordinators can do smthg soon for those coming brides.

Wedding is once in a life time so i guess everybody wants the best and e most beautiful moments. So hope all NCQ brides will be able to giv one another more comments so tat their AD day will be Great!

heard from my friend.. their agreement should include all your requests as well... means everything dat is supposed to be there... and any additional dat they agree to.. or if there were changes to the perks.

Flora, yes e agreement shld state all requests tat they hav promised u BUT NCQ is very stern with their perks so i din get any special terms frm them (pro their package are already v reasonable) : ( My coordinator is Huiling so maybe u can speak to her quite a nice person & e manager in charge is Jamie.


I only hope tat their theme and favors shld hav more varieties so we hav more to choose too (cos most hotels hav at least 3 themes but NCQ onli hav 2 themes.

agreed that they are really very strict with their perks and I din manage to get any more perks at all. Also hope that their themes and decor and improve on the way. Btw i see that our AD is less than a month from each other wo!

the funny thing abt the agreement letter i received from NCQ is that all terms and conditions are generic. eg. all 3 dinner packages are stated [not my selection only]. it is almost identical to the wedding package detail/brochure, everything mentioned is in. not specifically to my requirements. so, asking for confirmation from you gals who had signed on the dotted line.

As for other requirements tat they hav promised u you hav to ask them to indicate on yr actual contract. As what we said in the earlier post, NCQ dun offer additional perks unless u r taking more tables frm them as they r v stern with their perks. hee......

I also think that the stage is far too empty.
Maybe i will ask Jamie for the contact of their florist to check out the price as it might be cheaper.

I think i personally likes the flower theme more as it will look more lively as plant will life up the place.

erms.. as for the contract.. ya.. they only state their normal generic terms/conditions.. so unless u made any chgs.. or change some perks.. like from beer to wine.. etc... =)

I'm looking at NCQ for my AD next yr (Feb 08) too, can i check wat r the additional perks that can be requested on top of what's stated int he package? The one that was given to me for weekends starts from $718 per table.

its kinda diff to get additional perks from them. ncq are very diff on this.. so unless u r switching anythg off the usual/normal perks.. dun tink they'll agree.. hehs... dats how it is with them lors.. hmm

Hi, my AD will be at ncq Nov 08 but not yet sign the contract. i agreed that ncq very diffiult to get perks. I asked for alot of things but in the end they only agreed to give me more complimentary carpark coupon and wedding card.

Any brides to be or exbrides have photo of ncq ballroom to show, as what we see is only a empty ballroom very difficult to visualise. Can email me at [email protected]

Frankly speaking I didn't really noticed much on the Ballroom that day(no time, will wait til my PG to send me the photos).

My stand-in Coordinator was Huiling, Jamie did a beri good handover to her and everything were in place on that day and the Banquet Managers (BM) were Zul and Say Peng...no hiccups when the wedding started and after it ended except...

My special decorated Pens were lost when all my jiemeis left them for the late guests.sob.. sob..

Those dishes we've missed were sent to us after midnight...(we were not affected, as we were also veri tired to feel hungry liao by then).

Advice to future brides,
According to my sis, she mentioned the food was better than wat we tasted during the food tasting. Chis (the Chief Chef) took our foodtasting feedback seriously. So if you want your food to taste good, do remember to feedback with details... so that they are able to improve to our expectation.

If you have wine served, do remember to inform your BM that the serving should be adequate, first 3 dishes, they served my guests with 3/4 filled (which is quite alot) saw alot of wasted wine. Some guests order Wine for "appreciation" not for consumption, but after remarking to Zul, he gave us a waived of XX bottles from our bill.

In summary,

Being the Bride of the day,

You will not have time to notice the Ballroom deco,
You will not be able to taste food,

All I remembered, my day were a check list:

Cake sent (checked)
Solenmisation (checked)
Guests' Presence (checked)
No fall during 1st and 2nd March in (checked)
Picturetaking for all tables (checked)
etc

so.. u gals think they shld jus serve maybe half a glass? btw.. how many tables did u have and how many btls of wine was consumed in the end ya?

hee.... i guess u r very right to say.. we won't really notice the deco/food for dat day ... but glad dat the food was pretty gd.. shall rmbr yr tip regarding the food-tasting bit too~

I have guaranteed 48 tables n 2 reserved.

Total 49 tables were billed to us.
but
1 guaranteed relative's table didn't turn up and and 1 reserve table was used for 3 adults 2 children.

So in all, to be exact only 48 tables were used.
(cost us additional $800). Can you imagine my night in the suite facing the food (the guaranteed table) for 10 with the whole fish looking at me and the sharkfin soup trying to tempt my appetite with no success (due to tiredness). But after resting for 1 week plus... memory started to run back.... "So Bai(4) Jia(1)". But luckily the angbaos received is able to covered the banquet bills.

The total consumption of wines (74 bottles) but waived XX bottle to round figure.

Actually, we were too "excited" to think how to rectify on the actual day.. as the BM will inform you after the 1st march in, that how many guaranteed and reserved tables were used, if we are clear minded enuff, I sure asked him to consider the Reserved table as "Guaranteed", should the relatives come later, then we opened the "reserved" table for them....(can act as reference to your future wedding rectification plan).

Another advise for groom and bride to be,
If you have more than 40 tables and want to have phototaking for all tables... remember to highlight the impt relatives on your floor plan in sequence. And the rest, ask the brothers of ur hubby to arrange in a way... after taking picture in table A, the groom and bride need to turn 180 degree, can take another pic in Table B....(hope u understand) cos we were impressed by his brothers' management which we were able to finish 48 tables photo taking.

but ya.. yr table quite wasted.. the reserve vs guaranteed one. haiyos..
hmm.. but i guess overall shld be not too bad.. and at least yr ang bao managed to cover back. hehe.. good for u!! =))

coz im not sure if any changes in mgmt would affect e whole thing.. ?

Hee hee.... sorry for so many question. Which dessert and fish did you go for? Overall any nice dish to reco?

I was there that day also but nv get to see the groom and you as i was quite early. Hey i really love the guest table cloth (grey), very nice. I believe it is new and those plates are also new, jade green...so nice.

I heard that the baquet manager there is really good.

what i mean is that they used to only have red or brown table cloth for you to choose for guest table but now, they take in new colour, which is the grey.....

dear all, there're 4 table cloth colors for you to choose for. You can opt to have the VIP tables in the same color as the rest or not. Depends on your choice. The colors are red, gold, silver and bronze (looks grey).
