We want our wedding on a saturday, and thought of doing on 29-Sept-2012. Is it a good date for us?

Groom: Snake (13-Oct-1977)
Bride: Horse (6-May-1978)

Groom's father: passed away
Groom's mother: Rabbit (1951)

Bride's father: Rat (1948)
Bride's mother: Rat (1948)

Hi master tong I need advice n help urgently
It's for my friends they actually plan to get married tis yr but the bride mum tell her she is born in 'Po yue' n it will actually curse her parents to death or curse her hubby parents ! So can I check is there any way to solve it?
Her lunar B'day is 25th June 1982

My fiancee and I plan to get married this coming June.
Unfortunately, my fiancee's grand mother(Father's side) just passed away in Jan, aged 84. (That will be over 100days before our wedding)

My finacee's family are all christian and told us they are not superstitious(pan tang), that we can carry on our wedding.

My question is, should we proceed to plan and get married or just follow chinese tradition and wait at least one year?

FYI, my family are Buddhism

My fiancee and I are planning to get married in 2014. Understand that the tong shu will not be out anytime soon. Anyway that we can pick an auspicious date so that we can start sourcing around for out wedding banquets and brial studio.

Dear Master Tong,

Could you kindly advise good dates for Dec 2012 and Jan 2013? Heard that the Dragon year is a good marriage year for Roosters (is this true?) so would want to get married this lunar year.

Groom: 15 July 1981 (Rooster)
Bride: 18 Nov 1981 (Rooster)

Groom's father: Rabbit
Groom's mother: Goat
Bride's father: Rabbit
Bride's mother: Dragon

3 mths before and after your wedding, you cannot attend other's wedding, wakes and child birth. Hence the answer to both is no

Tong shu is just a generic guide only. Logically speaking, cannot be if a day is good for Dog for wedding, then the whole world Dog is good for wedding right? Bazi calculation is specific to individual, whichoverrride the tong shu. Hence there is no need to check the tong shu when it is out and there is no such thing as not safe!

When the tong shu is out in Aug, most good weekend dates for 2013 for most hotels are long gone by then.

What she/you mean is that she is Dog and if married in Dragon yr will clash? Coz by right Those born in Dog cannot get married in Dragon yr. BUT not to that extent of cursing everyone to death!!

No hotels will accept 2014 bookings now and way way too early to select now.I will only start ard June/July period this yr and you will still be the first few to get the dates then.

According to chinese customs, it has to be within 100 days or 1 year later (or 3 yrs later as some family believe). This is a Chinese custom, not pantang. As a chinese, i respect this tradition (as it is a respect for the deceased as well) and personally, i feel it should be followed.

When u say that our bazi is needed to determine if the day is good, what does it really mean?

BTB - PIG

In terms of general zodiac clashes, seems like next year - snake isnt good for pig & following year - horse not good for rat?

However will have to wait the tong shu is out in Aug to check if it is a general good date or not

Hi master tong,

Will like to ask about auspicious timing. Usually a 2 hours period is deemed as the auspicious timing - which part of the process needs to be completed within this timing? I assume that will include the gate crashing, fetching bride to groom's house. What about the tea ceremony? can it be done after the 2 hours?

These 2 dates 24/6, 11/8 are general tong shu good dates and doesnt clash to anyone

No that doesnt matter, else you have zero dates left.

The FTB timing (eg 7-8.59am) means the groom have to reach bride's home about 0630hrs, play games and gatecrashing session, and step into bride's home at 0700hrs (or after). Groom will fetch the bride to his home and complete tea ceremony with his parents by 0859hrs. After which, going back to your new home or to bride's parents home for tea ceremony is NOT within the auspicious timing. No timing is required for this.

thks.. can ask u what the different btw tong shu and the chinese calender that need to tear day by day. that one also have mentioned abt whether the particular day is gd for wedding etcs.
and i notice the 14 oct that u mentioned is gd for gdl, but that chinese calender mentioned is bad for wedding

If you go by general good dates, the tong shu is the "original" source. But there are many different publications of tong shu that says different things on each book (eg the red tong shu boo, iphone app tong shu, online tong shu etc etc), which is why it is not accurate. The calendar that tears day by day is just one version of it, and most of the time, the publisher just copy from the tong shu. Hence that is not accurate at all most of the time. If you really want check by tong shu, go get one with the thick red book.

btw if there two auspicious block of timing ie 7-9am and 9am to 11am.. can the whole process frm fetch bride, to groom hse , tea ceremony between 7-11am or we can only choose one block of the 2hrs?

and for an chuan, do we need a new bed frame or mattress? or a new bedsheet will do? cos if few yrs later shift to our new hse, then can we buy new frame/bed and discharge the one use for an chuan?

By right everything must be new. When you shift next time, you can buy another new set, no problem. Cannot be whole life don't change the bed right?

the 2013 tong shu is not out yet till Aug this yr, hence i can't advise 2013 dates till it is out. Only way to select now is using bazi. By time the tong shu is out, all popular hotel weekend dates are long gone..

For the 2012 weekends, here are the general good dates:

- 12/08, 29/09, 18/11, 30/11, 19/01/2013, 27/01/2013

The tong shu for tong shu will only be out in Aug this yr, hence if you looking at general dates, after Aug then i will be able to do it. Now have to use bazi to calculate. this is the only way and authentic way.

However, groom is born Pig yr, hence 2013 Snake clashes with Pig, hence a bad yr for wedding for him

My hubby is intending to attend his friend wedding in June where he will be one of the xiong di.

but it is still not over the 3months period from our wedding. Still got about 1 week den its 3 months/

Can he still go? Wat are the implication or tradition that the chinese believe on this?

Ideally not. If you want to be exact, it should be 100 days before and after your own wedding, you cannot attend other's wedding. The person that goes to get the bad luck. As this is a superstition, no one can measure right or wrong, and since marriage is once in a lifetime event, i will suggest to follow just for once

The tong shu for 2013 will only be out in ard July/Aug this year, hence if you looking at only general tong shu dates, you can contact me then. Right now the only way to do it will be using Bazi to select.
